Volume 1

Chun Hwa’s New Life as Id 14

“And, getting to the temple is our highest priority right now, because our healing potions have become depleted. Anyways, where are you heading towards Id?”

Id was pleased to hear that they were also heading towards the temple, and smiled.

“I’m also heading towards the temple, so would it be possible for me to stick with the group until then?”

Seeing as how Id’s favor wasn’t too difficult, everybody nodded their heads.

“But, where are you heading to miss high elf?”

Flinch.

As soon as Id spoke to Irlina, she stopped moving in place and stood there with a surprised expression. Elves were known to be composed and calm, but seeing as to how Irlina’s face had changed, everybody else’s face had changed as well. It was common knowledge for everyone to know how difficult and rare it was to see a high elf in person. But, that wasn’t the only thing that was surprising. Unless one was an elf, demon, or dragon, it was very difficult to differentiate between a high elf and a regular elf.

“Irlina, are you really a high elf?”

Illan was very curious as to whether Irlina really was a high elf or not. However, unlike the polite elves, Irlina ignored Illan’s question and inquisitively asked Id.

“How did you know that I was a high elf? I know that there isn’t a single existence amongst the humans that should be able to tell!”

Id didn’t understand what was going on, but he knew that he had made a huge mistake.

With just a few words, he had made everyone surprised, and he couldn’t even imagine that a single blurt of words could end up making such a loud scene. It was difficult to overcome the disconcerted atmosphere. Everyone was staring at Id with strange eyes. They had found him inside a dangerous forest by himself, his clothes were unidentifiable, and not only did he not know exactly where he was from, he had also been able to notice that Irlina was a high elf.

Id had to quickly adapt to the circumstances again. Seeing as how Irlina had said that there shouldn’t be any humans able to recognize the fact that she was a high elf, it meant that Id was suspected to being someone outside of a human. Id could feel his mind turning as he spoke with bright eyes.

“Ah, that is…….an elf that I know of had told me that a high elf had a special energy to them. That’s why I was able to notice.”

Id thought.

‘The only thing growing right now are my lies.’

Irlina could not believe in Id’s words entirely. She may have noticed that it was a lame excuse, but she did not continue to interrogate. Seeing as how Irlina was quiet, the rest of the members also released their wary eyes from Id. If Irlina really was a high elf, she would have been able to tell if Id was lying or telling the truth, but seeing as how she was quiet, it meant that Id wasn’t someone who was dangerous. So, after finding out the surprising fact that Irlina was a high elf, the group decided to move forward on their path.

While they were moving, Id kept on taking glances towards Irlina. But, it seemed like she did not show any interest towards Id anymore. However, Id knew that she was feeling wary of him.

The reaction from the other members of the party, after finding out that Irlina was a high elf, was that of a cheer. Now, the cheer was over, and everyone had become quiet. Instead of feeling happy that the group was quiet, Id was unreasonably ill-tempered and had a sour expression on his face. The tedious journey continued, and the high elf disturbance ended with that.

“But, what type of temple are you looking for?”

The one who had come beside Id to talk was the priest, Hael. It completely felt like an older sister was talking to her cute younger brother, and she seemed to be interested in the fact that Id was searching for a temple.

“There isn’t any specific temple I’m looking for, but if I was to get more specific, I’m looking for a temple of the highest rank, or someone like Buddha.”

Not only Hael, but everyone within the group that was listening to their conversation in the back, tilted their heads to the side. They had never heard of a god named Buddha, so Id did not object the question marks that were floating above their heads. This was a different world, so it was normal for there to be a couple of things that were different. All Id had to do was find a random god.

“Then what are you going to do after finding those gods?”

Id answered as if it was nothing special.

“I need to figure out their whereabouts. I don’t need to talk to those who worship them, but need to directly ask the gods a question.”

“Who exactly are you looking for that you need to ask a god directly? I’ve heard that it’s been over a hundred years since the last time a god had answered back to a human.”

The group could sense monsters around their vicinity, but seeing as how they did not attack, the group ignored them and was able to safely make it out of the forest. Even after getting out of the forest, they had to walk through a narrow trail for some distance, before they could come across the sign for Silan. They followed the directions towards Silan, but their legs were exhausted. The sun was setting just in time, so the group quickened their pace.
