Volume 1

Id Becomes a Martial Arts Instructor 20

Illan wanted to take the theoretical approach to the whole process instead of just learning it, but Id shook his head. It would take at least 1-2 years to teach the contents of acupuncture, qigong, etc., so he wouldn’t even have time to teach them. This is the reason why Id coldly rejected Illan’s demand.

Thinking to himself, Id was trying to figure out on where he needed to start from.

‘Mm, let’s get them to master the movement technique first. They’ll have many uses it for it once they learn it. And, these people don’t even know how to utilize their ki or acupuncture, so…I guess I can use that method.’

Organizing his mind, Id looked at the eyes filled with sparkles and began to speak.

“Let’s have you learn the movement technique first, and then I’ll teach you the method to utilize your mana. We’ll do this during our free time, so let’s head out now.”

As if they were disappointed, Illan and Grey smacked their lips.

The hot rays of sunlight were burning the earth, as occasional winds blew. Sounds of water could be heard from time to time, and although they looked bizarre, gentle looking beasts could also be seen. If one took a deep breath, they could fill their lungs with refreshing air. This foreign land had everything. Things like sunlight, wind, air, water…..the sunlight was warm, the air was cool, the air was clean, and the water was cold.

Id could feel that he was placed into a world that had all the fundamental things existing within it. In some ways, this world did not seem much different from his own, yet Id felt loneliness in a certain part of his heart, and felt anxious that he may never be able to go back to his own world. The more Id adapted to this world, the more he felt lonely and anxious.

Suddenly, Illan’s voice could be heard within Id’s ears.

“Id, you seem to be young, so where did you learn these things?”

Thinking for a moment, Id spoke.

“I learned from several masters, and read many of the books that they had left behind. I didn’t know much about swordsmanship back then………”

Illan asked again.

“Who are these masters?”

“Master Empty Giver and master Sang-Oon. There are plenty more besides them, but you wouldn’t know who they are even if I told you.”

Illan shut his mouth and did not ask again. He tried to say Empty Giver, but gave up half way through because it was too difficult to do so.

As the sun had fully set, the group had finally reached a small town. It was a very petite town which only held one of everything (no duplicates). Naturally there was only one inn, but there was plenty of space for all of them to fit. After eating dinner, the group came out to the wide garden located behind the inn. The one currently in the lead was Grey. Although Id had tried to lay on the bed to get some rest, he was unable to ignore Grey’s harassment and had no choice but to follow him out. Of course, it was all for the sake of teaching him the movement technique. Grey had borrowed several oil lamps from the master of the inn, and had prepared them to light up the garden. It was now as bright as day.

The group was now standing in a circle as Id pushed his ki down to his feet and legs, and began to show his technique. Every time he took a step, his foot would sink into the ground. The ground wasn’t soft, yet Id’s feet were going through them so easily. The group found it interesting to see and continued to watch. They couldn’t believe that such marks could be made on the ground with Id’s light bodyweight. Looking down at his own work with pride, Id began to speak.

“You see my footsteps over there? Now take turns and try to move exactly as I did. You guys know the direction that I was moving, right? It shouldn’t confuse you too much, since my feet are there.”

And, not long after, Id had to do it once again. His first footsteps were too long for Reindelphs legs, making it too difficult to reach. Id had to create one just for Reindelph’s use.

Sitting on one side, Id began to watch them practice. It was quite a mess. Their legs were twisted against each other, they were falling, dropping, and spinning…..Especially for the rusty mage Illan, he spent more time laying on the floor than he did standing on the footprints.

However, whenever there’s a bad student, there’s always bound to be a good student. If Illan was a poor student, Irlina was a brilliant one. With her flexible motions and quick speed, Irlina copied Id’s footsteps perfectly. As time passed and Hael finished her last set, Id stood up from where he was seated And, with a different technique, Id kicked up a flurry of winds and erased the footprints as if it wasn’t even there. Doing this same process for several days, Id taught the group several more techniques.

Different from Id’s boredom, the ones that were training were going through pain. They had to keep training until they made the feet pattern their own, and they also had to move quickly. If they did not learn this together, they would have probably given up and quit. During night time, the rooms were filled with exhaustion and groans. Like this, Id’s sleepless nights continued. A few days later, a person with exhausted red eyes could be seen entering the inn in Calvin.
