Ignite: The Archangels Chronicles

Chapter 11 - WHAT THE HELL

As Azreal stormed through the woods she kept her mind focused on anything besides the raw power coursing through her. Azreal thought since she could use her powers when she was training with Nadie that she might be able to control her Qi. But as soon as Azreal had given into the power atop that tree, before she dropped to the earth, something had changed. That small spark of power that she had felt before, was now a constant live wire.

Needing to clear her mind and meditate, Azreal ended up making a five mile trek through the jungle to happen upon an exquisite oasis tucked away like a hidden gem. She heard the quiet rush of water before she could see the little waterfall's leisurely flowing current. It emptied into a decent sized pool, the beauty of it stole her breath.

In the dark, a multitude of different flowers and plants shown brilliantly casting glowing neon hues against the deep rich colors of a maroon petal or the mahogany bark of the many trees making the area so secluded. Iridescent shimmering shafts of moon light poured through the gaps in the canopy making the pool glow like starlight.

Azreal leaned forward to test the water, and found it to be pleasantly cool. Scanning the landscape to make sure no one followed her, she peeled off her filthy, damp tunic. All the sounds of the rain forest were buzzing with life. Howler monkeys screeching, and a full concert of chirping, cl.i.c.k.i.n.g, and thrumming, just as thunder grumbled in the sky adding its own melody to the forests enchanting song.

Azreal tentatively stepped into the water with her dirty hands crossed across her large, rather bothersome c.h.e.s.t, trying to keep herself somewhat covered before reaching the sanctuary of these magical waters.

She let out a slight m.o.a.n at the waters perfect temperature. It was so humid here, that Azreal had a permanent sheen of sweat covering her skin at all times. The waters were crisp and soothing as Azreal inched further and further into the pool, letting herself relax. She dunked her head under the water, wanting to feel its pressure surround her.

After a few minutes of relaxing in the crystal clear waters, Azreal pulled her destroyed tunic and pants into the pool to scrub down what was left of the material. She almost felt bad for tainting the beautiful oasis with her grime.

Cameron had meant to follow Azreal and try to comfort her. She was so fragile in his arms after so much magic use. His healers instincts had immediately kicked in and he wanted to make sure she wasn't going to faint. Well, he could have turned back at any point once he saw that she was not just walking, but crashing through the forest. Stomping her way until she finally worked off her steam, and started to calm.

That took three and a half miles.

By the fourth mile he was utterly enraptured by her. It was as if he had been put in a trance and had no choice but to follow her. Just as he was about to make himself known, Azreal stopped abruptly and paused looking around. Cameron, not wanting to look like a stalker, dropped low before she could see him. He took a few deep breaths and decided as soon as she started walking again he would catch up to her.

He peeked through the foliage to see if Azreal had moved on yet.

His eyes rounded in shock as he saw Azreal's tunic fall to the forest floor exposing a side view of her upper torso.

He swallowed thickly, knowing he should look away but unable to.

Her full b.r.e.a.s.ts were peaked in the night air, her silky black hair falling around her shoulders like a curtain. Camerons expression went from one of shock to one of heavy l.u.s.t. His eyes darkened in his handsome face. He clenched his square jaw and adjusted his position, pressing a hand against the throbbing nuisance in his pants.

From his position is the brush he could see her whole profile, her long lean legs were exposed, and he knew he was in trouble. 'Might as well wait until she is finished before making my presence known.. ' he thought, biting his lip, immediately felling guilty. 'on second thought maybe I should just go now before I get caught.'

He he looked back to Azreal he decided to wait just a little bit longer and then leave. Azreal was now fully turned toward him, her face was so serene. Her eyes slightly lowered, her high cheek bones flushed, and that damn mouth of hers. Other than her shoulders, she was mostly concealed by the water as she washed her ripped clothing.

his hand now fully gripping his shaft, he squeezed the persistent member, silently begging it to go down.

Turning around as slowly as he could, while laying on his stomach under a bush, he began his retreat.

Azreal heard a rustling and assumed it was the wind or a small animal. But then she heard it again. Her magic still charged up from the battle, lashed out, And immediately sensed another person in the area, and they were close.

"Who's there?" Yelled Azreal. She climbed out of the pool as quickly as she could, cursing herself a fool for dawdling for so long in the water. Drying her pants with her fire magic as she dressed, trying not to singe the leftover scraps. She heard another rustle, and then a twig snap to her right.

Azreal immediately went on the defensive, anger rising. She squeezed her eyes tight, raising her fist and channeled her Qi to her finger tips and slashed down. A portal lay savagely ripped open, and she jumped right to her prey.

Only to find Cameron laying on the ground under a bush trying to silently fight an army of fire ants.

"WHAT THE HELL AM I SEEING?!" Azreal didn't mean to have such an outburst, but the utter shock of finding Cameron this way had thrown her.

Cameron stuttered out "ah, i..ow!" The fire ants had covered most of his shins. With one thought Azreal could tell them to stop, but instead she used them to her advantage, and asked them not to bite him. Camerons face drained of color as he swallowed visibly.

"Answer the question Cameron." Azreal's voice was dangerously low.

Cameron took a deep breath and said "Please tell the fire ants to get off me, I'm covered in bites." He had the audacity to look like a pouty child, but his face was obviously pinched in pain and he was sweating...

Rolling her eyes Azreal let him have his wish and banished the ants. Then she crossed her arms and looked at him expectantly, tapping her foot on the ground. "Explain. Yourself." Azreal growled.
