Chapter 12 - Gupta Empire

Gupta Empire is a peninsula surrounded by South Frost Sea from three sides. The fourth side has a mountain range that covers half of the land that connects to the continent. The empire was not a peninsula but was made over time by the Ancestor's effort, after countless battles and infiltration. The broken land parts were made into Anscestoral Islands, and are distributed to act as watchtowers to prevent surprise attacks from sea-sides. The Mountain Range blocking the half of way to the continent then was transformed into Ancestral Mountain Range and is used to train the army. So, with little influence from the continent, the Gupta Empire grew into one of the biggest Empires in the whole continent over the passage of time.

Gupta Empire consists of many official positions like Servants, Members, Elders, Masters, Kings, Emperor, and Ancestors in increasing order of their authorities. Guests and Guardians are exceptional posts as they don't have much of authoritative powers. The word Royal is attached to people with Gupta Clan Bloodline. The word Official is attached to the people with the Empire's Soul Contracts.

Servants, Members, Elders, Masters and Guardians, Ancestors have their cultivations at least Body Tempering, Spirit Tempering, Nascent Soul, Soul Expansion, and Soul Reformation and True Soul Stage.

There were some exceptions to positions holders like those with Great Master, Grand Masters and Supreme Master as their professions. There were also some officials that came to their position by contributing sufficiently to Empire's Development.

Ancestors have the highest authority. They generally live in the outer perimeter of the Empire and usually have huge army bases around them preventing large scale invasions. Guardians are army leaders under Ancestors. They are not allowed to have influence in Empire Internal Matters on a large scale. Also, they cannot orders Masters or above directly without permission. In exchange for this, they were given special privileges for their families.

The master's basic function is to manage the day-to-day working of the nations with Elders as their subordinates. Members are future Elders, Guardians, Masters, and Ancestors of Empire. Servants are the lowest position holders in Empire and usually carry out the orders of every other position holders. One can say that they are menial workers of the empire.

There are three different ruling positions in the Gupta Empire - House Master, King, and Emperor. House Masters are head of branch-families in the kingdoms. They are governing authorities of states. Above them is the King, ruler of the nation, their task is to rule the respective nation and oversee its development. The Emperor is responsible for watching over the movements of the other empires and sectors inside and outside the empire territories. Kings are not bound to follow the Emperor's order regarding Kingdom ruling unless Ancestors authorizes or unless Empire Rules are involved in the matter.

Only when a Rogue Cultivator becomes Official, he is allowed to buy land in the empire and follow Empire Rules. Other powerhouses also adopted similar tactics.

Rogue Cultivators with True Soul Stage cultivation or Supreme Grade Professions become Guests of the Empire. They do not hold authority in Clan's Internal or External Affairs.

The empire also has various Associations which specializes in various professions and its development and tasks. It is controlled by the Emperor and uses the credit system. Emperor keeps tabs on certain assets, matters and development direction. These Empire credits can be used to ask for land, security and other resources Empire can provide. They never deal in currency inside the empire directly.
