Its Just A Game

Volume 1 Chapter 68.2 A Good Old Story.

Dropping to my knees the searing pain got worse as my arm is pulled being pulled down in opposite directions, A few spears in my shoulder pulling to the front against the ones in my arms threatening to rip my arms from my shoulders. Looking over at the soldiers they were pulling hard on cranks tightening the chains looking st the spears in my chest it seems that the fur cost on my back stopped them from going all the way through.

A soldier got up from a kneeling position at one of the cranks hurrying over to a large metal door pulling it open allowing a tall pale skinned elf with golden hair and eyes and a middle aged human male to walk in.

Seeing me Forced kneeling The Elf cracked a smile and the Guy just stared at me before speaking.

“I told you it would work, and with a little more funding We could create more things like this all.”

“Intriguing you and your human technology. No magic but able to produce such interesting results I might…..”

Looking over to the soldier holding onto the chain he seemed to be struggling to keep it tight as the other soldier stood off to the side saluting.

Putting a little more force into pulling my arm I gained a little slack.

Ohh this is gonna hurt.

Yanking on my arms as hard as I could, my arm came reeling back causing the poor guy holding onto the crank to smash into the ground with a sickening crunch.

Feeling the slight slack from the chains as attention was drawn to the poor man on the floor. Using the little slack I have. I reached for the Spear in my arms pushing them out the way they came in, Freeing up my arms or so was the plan but the spears refused to move an inch and some of the chains have regained there tension as the soldiers were coming back to there senses.

Looking at my clawed hand I dug my fingers into my flesh in my arms tearing the flesh around the spears. Until where the spears were there was a solid hole through my arms and shoulders.

A quick and rhythmic marching sound echoed about the room. looking over to the door there was no one there also the elf and man from earlier were gone.

a new searing sensation started burning from just below where I Burrowed a spear out of and low and behold a new spear was sticking out but it wasn’t a pain to remove as it removed itself tearing a good chunk of flesh with it. Grunting I looked back to the spears and they were being loaded into large bolted metal crossbows.

Trying to pull out my Spell cards an almost empty box appeared in my hand with only a couple of cards a few spells.

“F.u.c.k, My desk.”

Quickly scanning through what I had, A few cards appeared in my hands as a flurry of vibrant pink and blue bolts of magic started streaming out of the card flooding the room in the vibrant colours as these little bolts of magic hunted down there targets. swatting at the little bolts of magic the soldiers tried to get rid of them but the bolts simply evaded their swings and slipping under their armour finding themselves soft flesh to impact. leaving the smell of burning flesh in their wake.

Digging out the rest of the spears as the little bolts of Fairy magic kept on coming out of the card in my hand like a never ending Torrent of Pissed bees.

Standing up IT felt good. Turning over to the nearest soldier. he was laying on the ground emitting a puff of smoke as he burst into bright lights and hundreds more of the little fairy bolts came steaming out of his armour suit as his body just seemed to vanish. Following that swarm of bolts, they found their next target pelting him until he followed his comrade in a puff of smoke. There were quite a bit fewer bolts than before.

Unfortunate.

Ohh it seems my company is here. At the Door Fully armoured soldiers were piling in. Shields raised Spears out. Same as before those spear tips gave me an uneasy feeling. A dirty and cursed feeling.

“Quite a beautiful day, Aint it.”

Quitely they tried to form a circle around me without getting close. Rolling through the cards in my hand I couldn’t help but smile.

“I use to love parol tricks as a child. You know sleight of hand, Puffs of smoke from your arms, Ohh and my favourite the one where ya grandfather would pull that loonie behind ya ear.

Just my loonie ain’t as nice.”

A quite gurgling sound came from the soldiers in the back as they collapsed as a Dull grey portal opened in the middle of there chests as their bodies disintegrated as men made of smoke took there places

“But sometimes it just wasn’t a loonie but A toonie. a sweet surprise for you when you’re a kid. But oh, so, sad when you lost that toonie because you just couldn’t keep it in your pocket.” The dull grey portals took a vibrant purple hue as a swarm of small monster came charging forth ripping through the men’s armour quickly and silently.

“But it ain’t always so bad as that toonie somehow made it back behind your ear to be pulled out again. A happy second chance.

Won’t you say?”
