Cain’s room in the lord’s castle of Nergrandi.

A pleasant breeze is blowing in through the wide-open window, swaying the lace curtains.

Cain sat in the wicker chair that had been prepared for him and watched the servants carrying the luggage that had been unloaded from the carriage into his room.

Most of the luggage were souvenirs for Diana, so Il Valeno was giving instructions to the castle servants, “That one goes to Lady Diana’s room,” and “That one goes to Lady Diana’s room, too.”

A boy and a girl entered the room as if sewing their way through the servants coming and going.

“Hey, Cain. You’ve got a huge package. I hope you have… and some souvenirs for us too?”

“No, I don’t have any. They’re all for Diana.”

“I’m sure you’ve got something for us. Cain is a man of peace of mind.”

The boy called out to Cain as he watched the servant come in once and leave quickly, but Cain’s response was kind of unresponsive. The boy who came in with him gave Cain a poke with a dumbfounded half-smile.

Cain chuckled and raised his hand, then clapped his palms together with the boy and made a panning sound.

“Keels, Cordelia. Long time no see. I was lying. I’ve got something for you.”

“No need to make such trouble. You don’t have to share Diana’s souvenirs with me. You were going back to King’s Town, you weren’t planning to come here, were you?”

“I’m not overdoing it. I won’t share Diana’s souvenirs with anyone without being asked.”

“Di, can I share it with you?”

“Diana is so kind. What a good girl she is. I don’t know any other girl with such a good heart. Is she an angel? She’s really an angel, isn’t she? I have to hide her so God won’t take her back!”

Cain hugged Diana, who was sitting on his lap and pressed his cheek against her head.

Diana was laughing as she said, “It’s hot!”

Keels is the son of Viscount Elgrandark and a cousin of Cain. Cordelia is Keels’ sister.

In case you are wondering, the lord of the Nergrandi domain is Cain’s father, Dismayr. However, he cannot easily leave the royal capital because of his job as vice-secretary of the Ministry of Justice in the royal capital and his affiliation with the Senate. For this reason, his younger brother, Viscount Elgrandark, is effectively ruling as a deputy.

The people of the territory call Keel ” Little Boy” and Cordelia ” Miss,” and call Cain and Diana by their first names, “Cain” and “Diana”.

Incidentally, and completely unrelated to the current trend, Dismayr has the title of marquis as well as duke.

He is supposed to give the marquisate to Cain until Cain grows up and takes over the family. According to Dismayr, he’s not happy about having a title because all he gets is taxes.

“I heard that after we left the city of Cyrillium’s Sadis, we were going to stop at the territory, so I prepared my souvenirs at the stopover town on the way, not in Sadis. Where are your uncle and aunt?”

“Dad is with the knights, and mom is with the wives of the estate, cooking dinner for everyone.”

“I’ll be visiting my mother later, too. I wonder if we’ll all be together for dinner.”

“I see.” Read the most updated version of this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at Novel Multiverse – “NovelMultiverse dot com”

Keels and Cordelia brought their own wicker chairs and sat down side by side with Cain.

They were looking at the servants coming in and out of the house together.

“How’s Cyrillium? Any pretty girls?”

“No one prettier than Diana.”

“I was a fool to ask you.”

Keels, who had been leaning out of his chair, throws himself against the back of the chair with a sigh when he hears Cain’s reply.

Instead of Keels sighing, Cordelia turns her head to the side and looks at Cain.

“What about the aristocratic school in Cyrillium? From here, Youum’s aristocratic school is closer than the King’s College of Magic, right? I could go to either, but I was wondering which would be better.”

“Oh, Cordelia goes to school?”

Keels does not attend the King’s Magic Academy in the Royal Capital. He attends a school for the sons and daughters of knights and township officials in the territory.

Keels is only 15 years old, but he is already involved in the management of the estate, assisting his father, Viscount Elgrandark. It is certain that he will have an advantage in the future if he is friends with the powerful people of the territory.

Dismayr also said that he intends to have the management of the estate continue to be handled by the Viscount’s family. If Cain had a younger brother, the story might be different, but he seemed to think that taking care of the territory while staying in the royal capital would be disloyal to the people.

“If you’re going to manage the territory, I’m going to go out and make contacts, and do distribution and, uh, foreign currency? Right? I don’t know, but I think it would be good if I could be a link between the territory and the outside.”

Then Cordelia laughed and scratched her cheek.

Cain brushed Diana’s hair and looked at Cordelia’s face. Cordelia is one year younger than Cain and two years older than Diana.

“Cody loves you, too, doesn’t she?”

“I don’t really love him.”

Diana leaned over Cain’s lap and looked down into Cordelia’s face and smiled, but Cordelia turned away with a sigh.

“So with Cordy, that means Diana loves your brother too, right?”

“Di loves her brother! Didn’t you know that?”

“I knew!!”

Keels and Cordelia, sitting side by side, look on in disbelief as Cain and Diana talk about stupid things.

Cain is lifting Diana up and down on his lap, sometimes squeezing her and sometimes sniffing her brain.

“I’d love to hear all about your souvenirs, but we’re not getting anywhere, are we?”

Keels crossed his legs and folded his arms on the wicker chair and rested his head on the backrest, looking at the ceiling. Cordelia put her arm on the elbow rest and rested her cheek on her cheekbone, “Isn’t that always the case?”
