"...With that, today's lecture is finished. You may leave, O Son of Lugal."

When Gilgamesh heard the lecturer's announcement, he perked for a split moment before schooling his expression back to disinterested. Of course, he wasn't fast enough and was caught by the lecturer who smiled wryly at Gilgamesh's childishness. Since he was still so young, the old lecturer gave him some leniencies. If he was older, he would treat him with contempt despite he was the son of Lugal and future Lugal himself.

Speaking of the old lecturer. He had thick white hair and beards. Though his face had many wrinkles, his body was surprisingly still sturdy and packed with muscles. He was wearing a white robe styled to match Uruk's fashion sense at that time with gold accessories and gems.

"Thank you for sharing wisdom and knowledge, Elder." Gilgamesh thanked one of the Elders of Uruk out of courtesy. Furthermore, doing that would stroke the old man's ego and maintained his good image.

Men of ancient age were very simple. You only need to stroke their ego to make them feel good, allow them to taste glory, delicious food, thrilling fight, and passionate f*ck, and you will get them under your control, subtly if not outright openly.

Anyhow...

Gilgamesh left the chamber where he was held for his lecture. It was already noon and the time for lunch. He was going back home to his mother's temple directly to have his lunch.

Unlike peasants who only ate twice a day or maybe only once, Gilgamesh had the privilege and luxury to enjoy three meals course in a day. Furthermore, the meal was considered the best due to its nature as offering the residence of Uruk offered to his mother, who's one of the patron deities of this place.

Indeed, Gilgamesh enjoyed having meals together with his mother. That way, he could savor her divine beauty close up.

Speaking of his feeling for his mother, Gilgamesh had a conflicting feeling inside him. In one side, he understood that she was his blood relative and he still affected by the commonsense of his previous world, which stated i.n.c.e.s.tuous relationship was wrong both for health and in morality. In another side, since he was born as Innate, he had a clear photographic memory and her mother was the first view he registered in his current life. Due to his developed mind, he couldn't help but have a crush on her. Nay, he would say that he was utterly smitten by her.

Of course, there were other beauties in Uruk. In fact, he knew that Ishtar, the goddess of love and war, had the main temple here. It was said she was the most beautiful goddess, surpassing even his mother's beauty. Unfortunately, this goddess personality was the worst.

Well, Ninsun was still better than Ishtar personality-wise. So, she's better than Ishtar in Gilgamesh's perspective. Thus, the reason behind his amorous yet amoral feeling for Ninsun.

The problem was his main value that's different from this era's standard. Unlike modern era with many obligations and rules the citizens must follow, this era was very simple. Just follow the law dictated by the ruler. Wrong or not, they must follow it to the bitter end.

It was a straightforward yet harsh law. And it had too much advantage for the ruler himself. It was no wonder Gilgamesh became so arrogant, selfish, egoist, and self-serving. Anyone would become like that with too much power in their possession.

Back to the topic. Gilgamesh felt the last shackle that bound him from doing whatever he wants as he pleases. These moral values were like both blessing and curse. He felt glad that he was still humane, but he was also feeling miffed because his moral values stopped him for having fun without any restraint.

Currently, he was still a kid. Yet, it had given him such a heavy dilemma. He couldn't fathom the mental turmoil he would experience when he hit his puberty when his hormone began to influence his thinking. He only prayed that he wouldn't turn onto a sc.u.m, though. He wanted to be a good, kind, and benevolent ruler for his people.

As he strolled in the street, he replied the greetings of everyone who greeted him, maintaining his good image. After a few minutes, he arrived in his mother temple and made a beeline towards the chamber where he usually had his meals together with Ninsun.

Along the way, he passed Ninsun's priestess. He returned their greetings. As an aside, there were only Ninsun, her priestess, and Gilgamesh in this temple. His father lived in the palace because of his status as the current Lugal. Furthermore, his parents didn't seem to close. They respected each other due to their respective status, but they didn't seem to share a meaningful romantic feeling despite they sired him together. Well, it was his lost, Gilgamesh thought. If his father thought that having orgies with those divine p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.es was better than having his mother's favor, Gilgamesh would monopolize Ninsun's love and affection for himself.

Maybe, it was only maternal, familial feeling at this point. But, nobody knows what was going to happen in the future. Perhaps, he would be free from the shackles of his old morality and he would bed his own divine mother. Although he was hesitating to even think about that at this point, as he mentioned earlier, nobody knows what'll happen in the future.

All that aside, back to the present situation. Soon, Gilgamesh arrived at his destination. He saw Ninsun sitting on a clay throne. She was waiting for him. It had become a habit for them to eat together.

"Mother, I'm back!" Gilgamesh announced his arrival.

Ninsun turned around in his direction with an elegant smile on her face. "Welcome back, my son." She greeted him with a wide, happy beam.

Gilgamesh ignored the priestesses in the chamber and dived into his mother's ample bosoms and flat yet soft stomach, embracing her to quench his loneliness due to her absence.

Ninsun giggled in amus.e.m.e.nt because of his spoiled behavior and allowed him to have his moment for a while. After a few tens of seconds, Gilgamesh separated himself from Ninsun. His stomach was rumbling and demanding to be filled.

"It seems you are very hungry. Now, sit. We shall have our meal together, my son. Just like the usual." She told him while elegantly gesturing at him to sit on another throne across the table.

Gilgamesh followed her order obediently. After he settled in his seat, Ninsun began an idle talk between them. Before that, she gestured towards her priestess to serve them with the best meals. Their talk was mostly about what Gilgamesh had learned from one of the sages. They continued their idle talk while enjoying their lunch.

It was something they enjoyed. They could create a close bond due to this simple activity.
