17. Larry Is Taken Away

Translator: Ann Yi

“Senior Brother, since you’re eager to come with me, I won’t argue with you. From now on you’ll be mine.” June held Larry in her arm and stroked his fur. Larry felt an electric current coming from her fingertips.

Don’t get it wrong. It didn’t feel comfortable at all. It felt like the kind of numbness that one experienced after getting an electric shock.

“Meow! (Let go of him!)” Murk stared at June for fear that she would kill the stupid fox, but it seemed that he could do nothing other than watching.

“Senior Brother, you always get on good terms with others, but Master was very angry when he knew that you had a good relationship with the Evelynn Foxclan. How about I tell Master that you are dead? That way Master will stop going after you.” June had long felt that the cat was inspired, but she didn’t pay much attention to it. So what if he was inspired? In an era where spiritual energy was scarce, he wouldn’t necessarily become a fairy even if he was inspired.

“Tchacha-chacha-chacha-chow! (Don’t! He’s just an ordinary cat. Murk, run away!)” This psycho Junior June was here for Larry, and Larry didn’t want Murk to get hurt.

Murk was not a heroic cat. After he heard what June said, he jumped out the window and ran away.

Larry: …

‘Although I told you to run away, it still made me feel a little uncomfortable when you left without the slightest hesitation.’

June’s red lips curled upwards, ready to send a message to Master, saying “The traitor resisted forcefully, and I had no choice but to kill him.”

Suddenly, she fell backwards. Unable to keep up with the speed of her retreating, her hair was floating in the air when all of a sudden, her strands of hair was cut off.

Even Larry’s fur on his tail was hurt, but he could see nothing in front of him. And before Larry knew it, he was thrown away by June in the blink of an eye.

It all happened too quickly. Larry thought he would be killed by the perverted June. He could see nothing in front of him, but suddenly, a black figure appeared. The blade sped over the tip of Larry’s nose, and the coldness of the metal caused his fur to stand on end.

‘What the f*ck is going on?!’

‘What had this little fox done before that made so many people want him dead?!’

June took two steps back and barely dodged the blade. She stared in fear at the Man in Black in front of her. She saw that he was covered in black all over, and the only thing that was visible was a pair of eyes that looked like a pool of stagnant water.

The tip of June’s nose smelled something. It smelled like blood mixed with something indescribable.

June seemed to have thought of something as her pupils shrank violently. “The Patriarch sent you here?!”

The person didn’t answer June’s question. He just stared lifelessly at June as if he had seen through her soul.

“You, traitor.”

His cold words did not contain any emotion, as if he had just sentenced June to death.

June explained anxiously, “I’m not. I’m here to see Senior Brother on my Master’s order!!”

The Man in Black didn’t listen to June’s explanation at all. The sharp blades flew straight towards June’s face. There was a deep scratch on the wall after she dodged it. One could imagine that if the blade didn’t miss her body, she would probably be cut into two pieces on the spot.

Larry was picked up by the Man in Black. He looked at the wall,  feeling terrified. Though June was sinister and could gave Larry goosebumps, it was more horrifying to see the wall being cut by a blade.

After Murk jumped out of the window, he climbed up to a big tree not far away. He hid his body with the leaves and followed the situation in the house without blinking.

June saw that whatever she said, the Man in Black wouldn’t listen. And if she didn’t leave now, she wouldn’t be able to walk out of the door. She turned into a grey fox and “Swoosh”, she escaped the ventilation tunnel.

Larry was dumbfounded by what he saw. ‘Hey, didn’t you say you were pretty good? Why did you run so fast then?’

The Man in Black was really strong, and Larry felt that he should talk less in order to stay safe.

The Man in Black lifted Larry up and looked at him with his emotionless eyes, making Larry feel like he was already dead.

“Ack-ack-ack-ackawoooo! (Sir, please spare my life!)” Right now it was necessary to beg for mercy.

The Man in Black didn’t reply but only tapped Larry’s head. Larry immediately lowered his limbs weakly.

Murk saw this scene on the tree and screamed, “Aaaahh-oooh!!!”

Most people in the community heard this shrill scream. Some men and women who had nothing to do at home hurriedly came out to see whose cat that was. They believed that something huge must have happened given how miserable the cat sounded.

The Man in Black looked at Murk and his gaze was as sharp as a knife. Someone was walking over from not too far away. The Man in Black shoved the unconscious Larry into his clothes and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

“What’s going on? Whose cat is that? Oh, poor cat, it can’t get down from the tree…” Before the elder under the tree could finish his sentence, the black cat came down.

Then he grabbed the elder’s trousers and walked forward. The elder was clearly stunned and thought that the black cat was really smart. It was asking for his help.

He hurriedly told the few old people who had come out to see what was going on. “This cat is asking for my help. It wants me to go that way. Let’s go and see what had happened. Perhaps someone is in trouble.”

They followed Murk to Frost’s house. Some of them had called the security guards to come over, and Murk went to the door and scratched on it, meowing again and again.

No one responded at the door. Everyone was worried that something bad had happened inside.

After Frost received the call, he came back in a hurry, and he only saw Murk screaming miserably outside the door.

“Meow, meow, aaaaaahhhh-ooooooh! (Stupid fox, you died a terrible death!)”

Frost heard the cat’s meow the moment he came back. Shock was written all over his face. The people who were surrounding the door thought that he was surprised to see so many people at his door.

Frost suddenly found that he could understand what animals were say again.

When he recovered from the shock, he realized what the black cat had said. “The fox is dead?!”

“Thank you for your concern. I’m back and it shouldn’t be anything serious. Thank you for taking care of my cat.” Standing at the door, he thanked his neighbors and the security guards. Frost did not intend to open the door and let everyone in.

First of all, it was his habit. He really didn’t like strangers entering his territory. Second, he was afraid that it would be too bloody and that it might frighten those old people.

When they saw that the owner had come back, everyone left. Murk, whose balls were cut by Dr. Frost, never liked to get close to him. But now he crawled onto Dr. Frost and kept muttering:

“Meow-meow-aaaahhh-ooooohhh. (Your house was smashed! The fox and I didn’t do it! Someone took that stupid fox away! Go save him! Forget it, what’s the point of me telling you this? You can’t even understand me.)” Frost listened patiently and just smiled.

When Frost opened the door, he was glad that he didn’t let anyone in.

Was his house forcefully demolished?
