28. Her Name is Juliana

Larry was dying.

These words were like bombs to Mirrocle and Frost. Mirrocle was glad that he didn’t leave even though it was late. Fortunately, Frost insisted on looking for Larry. And Mirrocle glanced at Frost appreciatively.

When Frost heard that the little fox was dying, he didn’t know why but he remembered the person in his dream, that wild and energetic young man. Frost had yet to find the little fox to confirm whether he was the youngster in his dream, so he couldn’t let the little fox die. He had saved the fox once, and he could definitely save him again!

“Where is he?! Let’s go!” Mirrocle quickly burnt a Soul-tracking Talisman. He didn’t quite believe this little junior sister who suddenly appeared.

However, the faint fire on the Talisman made him believe that Larry was in severe danger. If they couldn’t find him… When he thought about Larry’s death, Frost felt like he couldn’t breathe.

June floated to lead the way, and her voice came from the front, “I’ve told him long ago that Master had suspected that he was in contact with the Evelynn Foxclan and foxghosts and that if he got caught, Master would not let him get away with it.”

The words “foxghosts” made Murk’s ears tremble. ‘Foxghost? Wasn’t there two foxghosts chasing after us?’

As Murk thought so, Mirrocle also said, “There were two foxghosts chasing after us…”

“Impossible! This is the territory of the Astraea Foxclan. And the cultivation process of foxghosts is extremely dirty and obscene! How could there be foxghosts in Stardust Mountain, the lair of the Astraea Foxclan?” June retorted directly. The Astraea Foxclan look very down upon on dirty tricks like cultivating foxghosts. Stardust Mountain was the territory of the Astraea Foxclan, so the Dummy Foxghosts wouldn’t come anywhere near here, so how could they voluntarily appear and chase after these two men?

The disbelief on June’s face didn’t cause a stir with Mirrocle and Frost, but Murk’s fur stood on end when he saw that look on her face.

“Meow meow meow! (I was almost flayed by a foxghost!)”

Frost looked where Murk was looking at. It was really true. His bottom was naked. Luckily it was concealed by the surrounding black fur.

Mirrocle felt his heart ache as he touched Murk’s back and comforted him, “When we get back, I’ll give you a big meal. Your hair will grow back soon.”

Murk slapped Mirrocle’s hand, and Mirrocle laughed stupidly.

‘You stupid mortal!’

June also looked at Murk’s back. There was indeed a wisp of imperceptible black aura. She couldn’t have noticed it if she hadn’t looked closely. That must be what the foxghost had left on Murk.

June didn’t say anything else and temporarily buried her doubts in her heart. Anyways, those two mortals weren’t able to answer it even if she asked a question.

They fell silent. Even the insects stopped chirping.

June had so many questions. As an Astraea Fox, she knew about the appearance of Dummy Foxghosts at Stardust Mountain through two ordinary humans.

And about her Senior Brother… Logically speaking, with the situation Senior Brother was in, there was no doubt that Master wanted him dead, but why did he just cut off his limbs? June wouldn’t buy it if someone told her that Master showed mercy given that Senior Brother was his apprentice.

In the silent valley, there was only the rustling sound of feet stepping on the bushes.

Suddenly, June, who had been floating, stopped moving.

“Come out!”

Mirrocle and Frost looked around blankly and did not see anything strange, but they all knew that in terms of magical power, June would not necessarily be weaker than them.

“I’ll say it again. Come out!” June’s voice became sharp, and there was a demonic power hidden within it. Mirrocle felt a piercing pain in his eardrums when he heard it, and his temples twitched.

Murk fell directly to the ground without making a sound.

Mirrocle quickly took out a box of medicine, grabbed one pill and swallowed it. Then he handed the box to Frost.

In confusion, Frost took the medicine, and looked at Mirrocle inquiringly.

‘Why are we eating this?’

After he took the sedative pill, Mirrocle felt that the pressure on his temples which had been pulsating, was relieved, but he still had to adjust his breathing. He pointed to Murk who was lying on the ground. Frost didn’t ask any more questions. He took out a pill and pinched Murk’s chin to squeeze the medicine in.

It would be great if it was that easy to feed medicine to the small animals who came to the pet hospital.

Frost held Murk in his arms and gently massaged his chin. He actually did not know when Murk fell down as he wasn’t paying attention.

June had already made a move and two figures suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

“Juliana, how dare you come back?”

Two young men dressed in black came out. The forest was dim. If people didn’t look for them deliberately, they would almost be invisible.

If Murk woke up now, he should be surprised. How come there were two more Men in Black? But actually they were different from the FVA Units. They were just dressed in black clothes.

Juliana, that was the real name of Junior June, a silver gray fox of mixed bloodlines, a fox fairy who practiced skills from both Astraea and Evelynn Foxclan, a rebellious disciple of the Astraea Foxclan Patriarch, a desperate pursuer and pervert to her Senior Brother Larry.

June sneered. “I thought about who Master would send after me. But I didn’t expect it would be the two of you. This will end before you know it.”

As she said that, a red ribbon shot towards the two people. One of the two young men moved sideways and the other one wielded a silver sword and cut the ribbon into halves.

The half of the red ribbon that had been cut off seemed to be alive, and it attacked the other person automatically.

After dodging June’s blow, one of the men was tangled by the red ribbon before he could catch his breath. He shouted angrily, “Juliana! You’ve got the nerve to attack your fellows! Master already knows what you’ve done. If you know better, you should come back with us without putting up a fight. And we’ll plead for mercy for you!”

June sneered at the two of them, “Do you really think that I’m as naïve as our Senior Brother Larry? You’ll plead for mercy for me? Hahaha… How about begging for me to show mercy to you?!”

The ribbon in her hand was divided into two, and her moves were even more fierce as she attacked the two, and at this time, Mirrocle had adjusted his breathing.

He saw the three of them fighting, but he didn’t know if he should interfere. After all, they knew each other before. If they two outsiders got involved, it wouldn’t sound right.

The two of men managed to escape the fierce attacking of June’s red ribbon. But gradually, they felt they were fighting a losing battle. One of them said to June, “Even if we can’t bring you back this time, we’ll take the two mortals behind you with us.”

June sneered, and it sounded like a slap in the face.

“Then, should I feel grateful for you letting me go? But it’s too troublesome to repay others’ kindness. And compared to repaying kindness, I prefer taking revenge.”

Mirrocle, who originally planned to sit and watch, could not sit still now that he heard what the two young men said.

It turned out they were after them. Then what was he waiting for?

Mirrocle made a total of three Thunder Spell Talismans, and he had used two to deal with the two Dummy Foxghosts.

He had planned to leave the last one for self-protection, and now the time had come!

“Bang!”

The two of them had been on guard against June and her next move. Let’s say that the two young men had regarded Mirrocle and Frost as two eggs in the nest, while June as the hen to protect the eggs. As long as they didn’t get to be pecked by the hen, the eggs wouldn’t resist. Unfortunately, Mirrocle and Frost were not eggs.
