36. An Avid Fan

Translator: Ann Yi

“Welcome.” The mechanical sound rang when Mirrocle entered the pet hospital. Frost looked up and saw Mirrocle coming in, travel-stained.

“Larry is in my office. You go there. I need to finish my work first.” Frost raised his eyes to look at Mirrocle, and he didn’t stop what he was doing.

He was neutering a male cat, and he thought of Larry at the meantime. The little fox must hate his guts

When Frost thought that the soul of an adult male was in that little fox’s body and that he had actually castrated him, Frost felt cold between his legs.

In the past few days, thanks to the fact that he couldn’t understand what the little fox said, he enjoyed his time with Larry with his mind at rest.

Mirrocle came back so quickly this time. Frost assumed that he must have found a solution. Frost was both happy and worried for the little fox.

His mind was a mess but his hand movements were smooth. He did the cutting and stitching without hesitation. The cat lying on the operating table had lost its balls before he could even resist.

Just like Larry from back then.

Larry was intolerably bored in Frost’s office. His hands and feet were wrapped thickly with gauze. He wanted to go out and watch Frost work!!

‘Men at work are the most handsome, so unbelievably handsome!’ Larry was daydreaming.

“Ack. (Murk~)”

“Meow? (What?) ”

“Ack. (Nothing .)”

“…”

“Ack. (Murk.)”

“Meow?!(What?!)”

“Ack. (Nothing.)”

“…”

When Mirrocle came in, he saw Murk raising his claw, ready to scratch Larry’s head.

He was so frightened that he rushed over and held Murk in his arms, “Gosh, don’t attack him! Whatever it is, come at me!”

Since he made such a sincere request, though reluctant, Murk thought he should do as Mirrocle said!

So Murk slapped Mirrocle with his footpad.

Still, he showed mercy as he didn’t stretch out his sharp claws out.

“Slap!“

“Gosh, you really did it!” Mirrocle felt that his face must be red, and he thought it would be strange when he went out with a red plum-blossom-shaped pattern on his face.

Mirrocle caressed Murk’s chin flatteringly. Murk felt so comfortable that he couldn’t summon up the strength to scratch Mirrocle again.

Larry was lying on the sofa and he watched Mirrocle interacting so intimately with Murk. He couldn’t help but feel jealous.

‘How I hope Dr. Frost could be so intimate with me like that!!!’

The person Larry saw first after he woke up was Frost. His impression of Mirrocle was from the night he saw Mirrocle at Stardust Mountain, and that he knew from Murk that he was Murk’s owner.

He didn’t know that Mirrocle was his fan or what Mirrocle has done for him, but Murk wanted to tell Larry that a few times, but now that he was still mad at Mirrocle, Murk thought he would lose face if he said nice things about Mirrocle to Larry. So, Murk decided to say nothing.

That was why Larry did not know how Mirrocle felt about him. And even if he did know it, he could not respond to it. His heart was taken by Dr. Frost!

Mirrocle had been sneaking glances at Larry. His feelings towards Larry were complicated. The more he wanted to get close to Larry, the more he didn’t know what he should do.

Gingerly, Mirrocle sat down three steps away from Larry, and he found relief from the pressure by stroking Murk’s fur.

“Hatee-hatee-hatee-ho? (Your Master seems to be afraid of me?)” Larry couldn’t understand why a grown-up man was sitting there and looking at him nervously like a timid little girl. That night when Larry saw Mirrocle, he was not like this.

“Meow meow meow meow. (He’s nervous, and I’m almost bald from his stroking.)” Murk slapped hard on Mirrocle’s hand and turned around to signal Mirrocle to stroke elsewhere on his body.

Larry also wanted to be stroked by Dr. Frost like that, so he asked in confusion, “Hatee-hatee-hatee-ho?” (What is he nervous about? We just met each other.)”

Of course, Mirrocle knew that these two animals were talking to each other. Murk glanced at him, and Mirrocle obediently moved his hand elsewhere and started to stroke Murk again. He pricked up his ears, as if he could understand the animals’ talk.

Murk felt ashamed of his owner being such a wimp. He sold Mirrocle out without hesitation, “Hey, meow, meow, meow, meow. (You just met him, but he sees you every day. I don’t mean now as a fox. I mean when you were a human, he watched your TV plays every day. He is your… what do you call people like him again?… Oh, right, he’s your avid fan.)”

Mirrocle had always thought that he had kept his secret very well, but he did not expect it to be revealed so suddenly. The little magician knew who Larry used to be and he was Larry’s avid fan. Did Dr. Frost also know who Larry was when Larry was a human?

Larry thought of all the catfights he was involved in and all the fuss he had made in the entertainment circle. They were all posted on the Internet. If Dr. Frost searched it… Larry would be screwed.

Larry wanted to cover his face and cry for a while. How sad!!

He now looked so cute. He wanted Dr. Frost to think of him as a bright and cute young man. Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!

Larry even thought about how to flirt with Dr. Frost by looking cute and coquettish when he could take human form again.

But now…

Larry wanted to be left alone so that no one would disturb him.

The moment Frost came in, he saw the little fox lying in the corner of the sofa, and he faced Mirrocle and Murk with his butt. And his head moved as if he was sobbing.

Frost cast a sharp glance at Mirrocle, “You bullied him?”

‘No, I didn’t. I really didn’t!’

“Meow~ (Mirrocle knows who Larry is.)” Murk jumped into Frost’s arms. Larry had been observing him from the corner of his eye.

When he saw Murk throwing himself into Dr. Frost’s arms, Larry became even more upset. He almost cried.

“Wa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pow~ (Come and hug me!)” There was no need to translate that. Frost saw Larry blinking his big eyes and looking at him innocently and helplessly. And he felt that his heart broke.

Finally, Larry lay in Dr. Frost’s arms as he wished. Larry cast a smug look at Murk.

‘Tsk, you stupid mortal.’ Murk thought inwardly.

Mirrocle looked at Larry in Frost’s arms in disappointment. He also wanted to be so naturally close to Larry.

“You’re back so soon, so you must have found a solution to save Larry?”

Now that they were talking about this important topic, Mirrocle controlled his emotions, carefully recalled what his master said, and told them the origins and functions of the Mind-Clearing Slip.

“Larry’s injury is too serious. My master can’t cure it. His junior sister…” He didn’t finish his sentence but everyone present understood.

Frost was secretly glad that he did not hand over Larry to June.

“To recover Larry’s body and his Essence Orb,” Mirrocle’s eyes unconsciously drifted towards Larry when he said the words “Essence Orb”.

“Ack! (Murk!)” Larry was furious. “(Tell your master not to watch me like that!)”

Speaking of the Essence Orb, it not only caused pain to Larry, but also made Frost feel guilty.

Frost comforted Larry and put him and Murk on the sofa. Frost squatted down and looked at Larry gently. “You and Murk stay here. I will make sure you get fully recovered. Trust me.”“

Under Frost’s loving gaze, Larry felt so dizzy that he agreed.

Without Frost signaling him, Mirrocle consciously followed behind Frost.

“What should we do to recover his Essence Orb?”
