Legend Of The Little Boy

The woods were dark and gloomy as they walked towards the goblins camp. The little sun showed through in patches and the sun was not visible through the thick foliage. When they reached the goblin nest they were quite surprised at the organizational abilities of the goblins and how human-like they are. Alistair and Aeron realized it was meant to get them ready to kill humans if they got attacked or someone attempted to assassinate them.

Aeron at this point had believed he learned quite a bit of human nature from traveling as Alistair had told stories of others and their misdeeds which made Aeron decide not to let strangers get close. He had also mentioned him "putting to sleep" the animals which he was told was actually killing made him throw up.

When they snuck up behind a couple goblins Alistair whispered to Aeron

"On the third count jump out to grab them pull them back inside and slit their throats."

"Ok"

"One, two, and three."

At this, they pulled the goblins over and slit their throats. Aeron heard a ding as the goblins while dying, sent begging looks to stop with putting much effort to turn around and get out of their hands. The goblins however soon had the light fade from their eyes and die. Aeron realizes that killing things that looked like humanoids was much harder than with beasts.

He had just thrown up once before getting over it but this caused more vomiting and when his stomach was empty retching. Alistair began to comfort him with a few pats on the back and reassuring words.

"Soon you'll get over that. It may haunt you for a while but it will pass."

Aeron picked himself back up and wobbled a bit before regaining his stability.

"Aeron, if you need a second just say so I can wait for you to get ready." Said Alistair concernedly.

"No. No, I'm fine just give me a second to get my bearings."

"Just tell me when you're ready."

Because they were so absorbed in their current situation they didn't realize that the goblins we're slowly circling them until they both jumped up and looked around though Aeron swayed for a second before he found his grip and thus they began slashing at the goblins. Aeron while slashing accidentally used a small bit of Mana and that did not escape Alistair's eyes. He made a mental note to question him later before slashing a goblins head off.

The goblins who understood that it was futile began to turn around and run. Other goblins soon followed in their tracks and the duo quickly realized this as soon, they had to chase after goblins to kill them instead of just slaughtering the ones around them like before. The two began to chase them for a few minutes until Aeron began understanding what he had done and that the goblins ichor was all over him.

At this, he began to gag and retch repeatedly causing Alistair to send a few concerned glances seemingly deciding whether to choose to follow or comfort him but eventually settling on running while gritting his teeth decided to follow the goblins. Aeron after retching and gagging though something seemed to come over him for a few seconds.

"Hmmm, so this is my body now. Just getting adjusted to killing? I could merge with him a little bit now to make him get over it easier. But that wouldn't be fun. Being semi-reincarnated is fun!

Then "Aeron" began yelling

"Wait what do you mean I have a time limit! That's completely ridiculous I'm part of his soul not merged yet but I should get to at least see the love interest! Gotta know whether he suits the boy. Probably won't matter though given that... never mind I'm going to tell the observers everything so it all began with mmf mfmfnfn! What do you mean it's no fun if I tell them everything! Well, that's stupid and wait. Wait I need more time you have to let me merge a portion of my soul with his! No! No, I need more tim... "

Aeron shook his head and looked at the ground he began to have panic attacks again and swayed left and right. But this time there seemed to be a voice comforting him deep inside his soul that helped him stop and regain his balance. With its comfort, he realized that killing isn't that bad for if they aren't killed we are killed. This is a philosophy that would help him many times over in the future

but of course, there were less civilized places where if you didn't fight you would die.

Aeron began to walk towards the direction Alistair went and when he got there found him moping and mumbling about his stupid choices for a second before he stood up and hugged Aeron.

"I picked wrong. I picked wrong."

Aeron comforted him and Alistair felt like he was being helped to pick himself up and smiled.

"At least I have you though."

Alistair felt that it was quite ambiguous and asked

"As a friend right?"

"What else would it be?"

Aeron nodded though confused by his previous sudden change of mood from killing to calm.

He then heard a whistle and a "smooth moves". Aeron shook his head and wondered what he was hearing and whether he was going mad. He didn't know much about the term but he did know that it meant a crazy person.

Alistair pondered the face going through multiple emotions and found it to be quite cute. He then wondered what was happening to him. Then started worrying about how his face was making his face make a myriad of emotions. Then suddenly Aeron's face relaxed as he breathed a sigh of relief.

"What happened."

"I believe I'm going mad. I keep hearing voices in my head."

"Have you checked for status ailments or opened your status recently?"

Aeron then willed his status to open.

"It says I'm not authorized to see my status ailments there are just three question marks and the system says I'm unauthorized. What does that mean?"

"It means it probably has to deal with your soul. If it's not telling you anything that means it's either a benefit or neutral. Of course, other people can try and hurt your soul but the system will tell you what is wrong with it. Won't tell you what you need to cure it though gotta go to soul shamans for that.

"Well, let's take our proof of kills there and get our rewards."
