Lone Cultivator In Another World

Chapter 56 - Q&A. I respond to every comment!

Hey, guys.

While I'm still resting and planning, I wanted to set up a Q&A session. Book 2 will begin in 1 or 2 days, don't worry. I will never drop it.

Basically, I welcome all your questions, ideas, criticisms, appreciation and requests for insignificant spoilers. I will respond to every single person. I mean it. If you write "thanks", I'll still respond with "thanks for thanks." So, say something meaningful :)

Here are some questions I'd like to address right away.

Q: BlackInk, does this smell like X-men to you?

A: Emm... A little? Not my intention, and this will not turn into a story of a superhero team fighting baddies 100% of the time.

Q: Is Leon an absolute bastard?

A: Yep. Nuff said.

Q: Is the comet actually a spaceship from Alleyamorr world?

A: Yes. Hope that was clear enough.

Q: How long is the timeskip between books 1 and 2?

A: 4 months. December 2008 - March 2009. It was April in the last chapter for Alice and her dad, so there are superpowered people in April. In March, it's only starting.

Q: Is this going to get darker?

A: Not really. I wouldn't say this has been dark, more melancholic. There will be low moments like with Leon and such, but I'm a big fan of happy endings.

Q: (Great question from a reader) I don't understand MC's sickness. Does he lack energy or is his body weakened? I don't understand because he got hurt while fighting Anna's stepdad.

A: LZD1 is my invention, totally not real. I based it on these molecules called ATP which provide energy for basically every process in the body. Let's say LZD1 affects the patient so that ATP is produced abnormally slowly. And it gets worse with age. In theory, this might even exist.

So yeah, he lacks energy, his body isn't really weakened. And if he tries to exert strength while incapacitated because of lack of ATP, his ograns straight up shut down. They can't even work properly anymore! That means, older people with severe LZD1 are the same. They can't move or they'll die. And then their bodies shut down with age anyway. Truly terrible fate.

Glory, with its magical properties, increases the production of ATP, but it needs a few minutes to take effect. The body processes can't be rushed too much.

As for why Michael got hurt while fighting Anna's stepdad, it's because his body is that of a normal 14-15-year-old who doesn't work out. His nerves and reflexes are enhanced, he can call on to the hidden potential in his muscles (body reserves), but his bones are still hardening. This is why children under 18 are sometimes discouraged from lifting weights at the gym - they might lose in height if they're still growing. Michael's own bones and muscles can barely support his strength. When he hit a large, robust man with his abnormal strength, it was like hitting a car. With 2-stage, this problem will quickly go away.
