"F.u.c.k! Run! Get the hell out of here. Retreat back to the safe zone!" Jack shouted.

Linus looked back for a short moment while precisely shooting the heads of a few ghouls in front of him. Unlucky for him one ghoul at least took 4 shots in the head until it would go down for good.

So his ammo was running out even with him landing each shot. There were just too f.u.c.kin many of them. And each casualty on their side was another ghoul on the enemy's side.

"Behind us are also some of them! Sam is also lost!" Linus shouted back and saw another ghoul that was a human just a few minutes ago.

"Just move! Try to avoid them!" Jack started to run and shoot at every ghoul that tried ti get close.

"Seras!" Linus shot a ghoul that nearly got her. "Go!"

She was looking around hectically in every direction and only after Linus brought her back to her senses did she start running.

A little bit later they found a little bit of space that seemed to be clear for now.

"Shit...How much do you have left?", asked Jack while breathing heavily and leaning at a tree.

"13 shots. But I will keep one for myself if this continues.", responded Linus and crouched down. he was still looking around if any of the ghouls are nearby. Those f.u.c.kers were controlled by that priest so the chance of him knowing where they were was high.

"Here...There should be 10 shots left." Jack reached out his gun towards Linus.

"Jack, you need your weapon." Seras saw his action and told him to keep it.

"I...I won't make it, kitten. Linus...Make sure you get her out of here."

"What are you talking about, Jack?", asked Seras with a worried face.

Linus frowned. "Where?"

Jack looked at him. "Leg..." And sure enough, there was a bite mark on his leg.

"Damn it..." Linus cursed because he knew this was it for him. Ghouls were like zombies. The only difference was they were upgraded zombies in a sense.

"No, you will be okay. Let me apply some first aid." Seras immediately used the first aid kit she carried around with her and disinfected the wound and bandaged it.

Jack only smiled wryly and looked at Linus. Linus only nodded.

After Jack closed his eyes it didn't take long before they opened again. But this time they were blood red and with m.o.a.ning noises, he wanted to grab and bite Seras.

But before he could complete that task 4 gunshots were given off and he died completely. They were all aimed at the head.

"No!!" Seras screamed and tears fell from her eyes. "Why!?"

Linus grabbed her shoulder. "Seras, we need to go. Now!"

She looked at Jack and sniffed. Her heart was probably broken at the moment. All her friends and colleagues are dead.

When watching her Linus could feel anger building up inside him. He didn't even hesitate to pull the trigger and he was someone that often than not missed that empathy towards other people. But currently, he felt with her.

´Is this changing me?´, he asked himself but shortly after shook his head. He saw her still planted on her knees looking at him.

"Damn it, Seras! We need to move now! We can mourn later! They would not want you to die as well!" He grabbed her and pulled her up. It didn't take long and she followed suit on her own accord. Her hands were firmly on her gun as well.

While moving they encountered some ghouls and had to avoid them. But soon Linus noticed they were actually kiting them somewhere.

"Shit, they are kiting us somewhere." Linus let Seras know his thoughts.

"Probably that church there. Look." Seras pointed at a church some distance away. There were no ghouls outside of it.

Linus knew that she was right. "Alright, you enter from the front and I get inside from the back. Our culprit is inside there. If we take him out we could stop this. That is probably our only chance. You in for it?"

Seras thought about his words and nodded.

"Good. Make sure you keep yourself alive." With that, both split up. Linus was going around the church. He knew from this point onward she would be safe. Well if Alucard turning her into a fledgling is considered safe.

Seras herself made it inside and was slowly moving forward. Then a priest appeared from the side room and walked to the pedestal at the end.

"The church has always offered sanctuary for people in distress."

"Good Evening Father..." Seras looked suspiciously at the priest but still started to talk with him. She felt compelled to do so.

"And a very good evening to you, young lady. So fresh. So full of life. So frightened by the creatures that walk the night. Poor little thing."

"Are you really a priest?" Seras knew by now that this guy was not one. His mannerism was just too creepy.

"I am merely a guide to the weak of heart." The priest smiled wickedly and his eyes started to glow slightly. He was using hypnosis and it slowly to start taking effect on Seras.

"Well, I am on a mission. We are supposed to deal with a priest who is responsible for the massacres...But...you are not...like the rest of them...." Seras started to talk a little bit of gibberish. Not completely in control of her words.

"You are speaking of the ghouls you saw outside."

"Ghouls?" Seras asked now.

"Oh, they are the slaves of the vampire that bites them." The priest approached her even further. So much so that he placed an arm around her waist.

"Let me...go...or else...I will shoot..." Seras was completely under his hypnosis by now and could barely do anything. But she still mustered some willpower and pointed her gun straight at the priests head "And I will blow your brains out..."

"I know your pain and can give you p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e...A p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e that will last an eternity."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that..."

"What?" The priest looked back and got several nicely placed bullets into his head.

"Bullseye." Linus smirked but sure enough, that smirk lasted only until that bastard regenerated and glared at him.

"Another lost soul...Well, then you will just join my little ghoul army."

"I doubt that. You can try but I think the outcome would be a tragic one..."

"No, dont...run...Linus." Seras was still fighting against the control.

"Sit, young lady. I will show you how those ghouls are made."

Linus aimed at the priest again and tried to shoot him but before he knew it that guy was already behind him.

Linus got grabbed and bitten in his neck for just a second. Agonizing pain filled his body and he slowly became paler and paler. He started to m.o.a.n like a zombie not long after.

"No..."Seras had tears flowing down her cheeks after seeing that.

"Hahaha." The priest laughed after his deed and came back to Seras. Embracing her he wanted to bite her as well. "Now it is your turn. Oh, I nearly forgot. I need to **** you first. Would not want you becoming a vampire after all."

"What?" Seras was confused and even after trying so long could not do anything.

But just at that moment, the door to the church was blasted open with a kick. The person entering looked around and fixated his gaze on the priest.

"I had enough of you little worm.", said Alucard.

"Who are you!?" The priest was now very cautious. No mere normal human could just blast a door like that."

"I am Alucard. I am but a servant of the Hellsing organization. I am here to deal with garbage like you."

"Garbage like me? Hah! Have you lost your mind? Who do you think you are talking to." The priest snorted and tried to play the cliche part of an insecure evil guy.

"No, you are less than garbage. You are sc.u.m and that ridiculous outfit of yours. You look like some sad carnival freak. Just wearing those priest clothes. Don't you have any shame? At least sc.u.m should feel shame."

The priest actually got mad. "I think you should die now." With those words, all the ghouls that were hiding so that he could hypnotize Seras resurfaced and attacked Alucard with their guns.

After a round of wasting all their bullets, they stopped. The result was a very bloody Alucard that still remained standing and grinning.

"What a sc.u.m. Even needing underlings to do your dirty work. You really are not even fit for the lowest part of hell!" Alucard just regenerated himself and started shooting back. All the ghouls die with just one bullet each. Well, some bullets killed more than one ghoul at a time.

It didn't even take long and all of them were dead.

"How can this be!? You! You are a vampire! Why are you helping humans!" The priest panicked and grabbed Seras as a hostage now. "Don't come any closer. I still have this girl. You don't want her to get hurt, right?"

"See, you are acting more like a c.o.c.kroach than a proper vampire. Left alone you would just smear the world in filth. I can't stand your kind. Now, are you a v.i.r.g.i.n, my dear?"

That sudden question got a reaction out of both the priest and Seras.

"I asked if you are a v.i.r.g.i.n!" Alucard repeated and this time louder. His eyes also glowed brighter.

Suddenly Seras felt compelled to answer him. "Y..Yes!"

Alucard only grinned and shot another round straight at them. His bullet went through Seras´s left b.r.e.a.s.t and penetrated the priest behind her. But that shot was basically only a distraction and Alucard approached him and pierced his heart with his hand.

"You! You..." The priest cried out and turned to ash.

After that, Alucard walked over to the now deadly wounded Seras on the ground. "I had to shoot through you. I am sorry but you are dying. And there is no time left. The choice is yours. What do you want to do?"

Seras heard his words and tried to reach out to him. She clearly indicated that she wanted to live.

Alucard took her hand. "Really. What a beautiful night." Then he showed his fangs and bit the girl in her neck - effectively turning her into a vampire.

She had already lost consciousness so she didn't really notice anything about it. But the wound on her body already started to heal up.

Just when Alucard wanted to pick her up he heard m.o.a.ning. Looking towards the sound he saw Linus still standing there. Alucard´seyes became larger.

"Well...Look who we have here...Ha...Hahahahaha! We meet again but look at yourself. You got yourself killed again. Now I am curious about how we will meet again, kid." Alucard raised his gun and shot Linus in the head.

But unlike Alucard´s expectations, the ghoul in front of him did not turn to ash but suddenly burst into dark matter that wriggled around.

"What!?" Even Alucard was flabbergasted by this outcome. How in the world did this guy have that ability!? He was a ghoul and obviously not sired by him. Yet he showed an ability only true vampire could have.

Standing up Alucard looked around and noticed what may have happened. The blood was gone - the girl's blood. There should be still evidence of her being shot. And he also felt some of his own missing.

Narrowing his eyes he tested something out and shot himself. His blood sprayed over the ground. And just like he thought it slowly moved over the ground towards Linus where it was absorbed by him.

Alucard watched this unfold and there was confusion on his face. That expression remained as long as Linus was in his dark matter form. Which was short-lived. After absorbing the remaining blood sources, he manifested back into a humanoid form and just fell over like a ragdoll.

Alucard tilted his head questionably and walked over while his wound healed up. His eyes looked at the unconscious Linus in a very intrigued way.

"Well, I will be damned. Now, this is a very interesting night indeed!" With a humongous grin, Alucard started to laugh loudly. Then he picked up both Linus and Seras and walked away from this place back to the Hellsing organization.
