“My god, two hundred Yellow Turban soldiers!”

“Quick, close the village gates!”

The Xia villagers nervously huddled at the entrance, carrying butcher knives, scythes and hammers in their hands. This battle would determine the survival of the village and its inhabitants.

Hua Mulan led fifty or so elite light infantry soldiers to the scene. They were uniformly armed with spears, shields, and leather armor.

After the elite infantry arrived at the entrance, the villagers felt instant relief.

Under Hua Mulan’s training, the average level of Xia village’s light infantry was around 20.

[Arms]: Xia village elite lightfoot soldiers

[Grade] : Second order infantry

[Head count]: 50

[Average level]: Level 20 (new soldiers)

[Attack power]: 9+1 +2.25 = 12.25

[Defense]: 6+1+1+1.5 = 9.5

[Speed]: 6 [Morale]: 80/100

[Skill]: intermediate Fen Xun, low-level shield formation, low-level spear formation

[Characteristics]: Men don’t bring Wu Gou (When the infantry general is the main general, all attributes +1)

Equipped with long spears, wooden shields, leather armors and a 25% offensive and defensive bonus from Hua Mulan, the elite infantry had extremely impressive attributes, capable of blocking the impact of the cavalry with their long spear array.

Hua Mulan was intended to be a cavalry soldier, and had a higher bonus leading the cavalry.

Hua Mulan was now the only hero from the Xia village that could be used.

In fact, the silver ranked hero Wu Shang and the bronze ranked hero Zhao Qi were both not bad, but they were far from matching the power of royal ranked heroes.

Chu Tian descended from the wooden archer tower and gazed over the elites of the Xia village.

The main force against the Yellow Turbans consisted of fifty members of the elite light infantry with 300 local militia. The power of Hua Mulan alone was limited after all.

“Villagers of the Xia village, now are the moments of life and death. Pick up your weapons and defend your homeland!”

Chu Tian encouraged everyone, slightly increasing their morale.

At the entrance to the Xia village, twenty Yellow Turban cavalry members formed a row, with their camp’s hero in the middle. Following along was a group of soldiers in a myriad of formations.

The leader of the Yellow turbans felt his pupils shrunk as he saw the set of four meter high wooden archer towers at the entrance of the Xia village. Archer towers are defense fortifications for a second-level city. How could a village with wooden archer towers be easy to fight?

“Open the village gates and surrender, and I’ll consider letting you live!”

The Yellow Turban leader immediately drew his sword, which with its long handle was over two meters long.

The response received was a single arrow which Yellow Scarf leader quickly slashed through with his large sword.

“If battle is what you seek, then there is no need for extra words!”

Chu Tian held a single wooden bow in his hand, still dwelling on the arrow he had just shot. 50 coins for this arrow just to be destroyed.

The Yellow Turban leader motioned his four soldiers to approach and test the grounds.

The four soldiers went into separate paths as they attempted to climb the wall.

“Ah!!”

The ground suddenly sank as a Yellow Turban soldier stepped into the air, falling into a hunting trap before being stabbed to death by piercing bamboo!

The hunting traps weren’t the only things blocking the Yellow Turban soldiers; there were archers from the village as well. Several feathered arrows flew out of the village, killing another Yellow Turban soldier.

Seeing two of their comrades die in such tragic formats, the two remaining soldiers retreated before even daring to touch the earthen wall.

The leader of the Yellow Turbans furrowed his brows as he faced the copper and iron walls of the Xia village, clueless as to where to begin.

With archers present, it would be difficult to deal with the hunting traps.

“Village elder, the Yellow Turbans intend to attack the village gate directly!”

“Tell the archers on the turrets to get ready.”

Chu Tian had noticed the soldiers outside the gates had formed a shield formation, which probably meant they were going to storm the Xia village.

His eyes fell on the 20 war horses of the Yellow Turban army. 20 war horses could sell for at least 400 taels of silver…

Thirty Yellow Turban soldiers adorned in wooden or leather shields lined up in two rows, followed by archers and swordsmen. A burly-looking axe wielder carrying an axe weighing a few dozen kilograms could easily split the wooden door of the Xia village.

As the Yellow Turban leader waved his knife, the siege squad moved forward to attack the Xia village.

“All those with a bow and arrow will shoot on my command!”

Chu Tian glanced nervously towards the Yellow Turban soldiers, not knowing how high the opponent’s level was. A level 10 soldier was very different from a level 100 soldier.

The Yellow Turbans gradually approached the village gate and entered into the range of the archers.

“Loose!”

Dozens of arrows came flying from behind the dirt wall as they pierced the Yellow Turbans. A sharp arrow pierced the wooden shield and directly shot the soldier behind it!

Before the Yellow Turban Soldier fell, he looked incredulously at the hole in his chest. He had been one shot by the hero of the Xia Village.

After killing a soldier, Hua Mulan once again drew her bow, killing another Yellow Turban soldier within seconds.

The arrows fired from the soldiers of the Xia village were less lethal. Some blunt arrows only hit the wooden shields, but were not able to penetrate them.

The Yellow Turban squadron was less than 100 meters away from the village gate. After two or three more rounds of arrows, they would arrive. The soldier armed with the giant axe began to hack at the wooden gates. The Yellow Turban archers also began to fire arrows to suppress the Xia village’s archers.

The wooden door began to tremble violently. Once the gate was destroyed, the Yellow Turban cavalry would gallop in, burning, killing, and looting.

The archers on the towers continued to fire arrows until their arms went numb.

At least a dozen Yellow Turban soldiers collapsed outside the Xia village gate.

“You, approach!”

The Yellow Turban leader instructed a second siege team.

Both sides fired hundreds of arrows at each other. The militia who were struck fell from the tower as other members quickly boarded the arrow tower to replace their fallen companions.

The Xia village had earthen walls with wooden fences, wooden gates, and wooden arrow towers as their defensive fortification. This meant the damage of bows and arrows could be reduced, but several courageous villagers would still fall to the siege.

After shooting several arrows from a wooden bow, Chu Tian was finally able to kill a wounded Yellow Turban soldier.

“Ding! Greetings player, you have killed a level 20 Yellow Turban soldier and gained 75 experience points.”

“Ding! Accomplishment “Ten Thousand Strikes” completion: 36/10000.”

A level 20 Yellow Turban?

This was news to Chu Tian as he felt his scalp tingle. The average level of the Xia Villagers was around level 15, with his elite infantry only being level 20. That meant the Yellow Turban cavalry soldiers were of an even higher level.

“Focus your arrows on the axe wielder!”

Chu Tian decided that axe wielders were too much of a threat to the village’s wooden gates, so he specifically targeted them.

As the giant axe slashed at the wooden gate, sending flying a disarray of wood splinters.

“Brothers, prepare to siege the village and loot their money and food!”

The leader of the Yellow Turbans was carrying a large sword. Seeing the wooden gates of Xia village on the brink of falling to his two siege teams, twenty cavalry soldiers were ready to go, their horses panting in unease.

At the expense of the lives of thirty Yellow Turban soldiers, they were finally able to destroy the wooden gates as a third siege squad pushed through the doors.

“Kill!”

The Yellow Turban leader fronted the cavalry, leading the charge. The few archers of the Xia village did not have time to react to the speed of the cavalry. Wielding broadswords, the cavalry was able to break in.

For the feudal lord players in the Eastern Han district, cavalries were basically invincible in the earlier stages. Once the city gate was breached by a cavalry, it was doomed to fall!

The Yellow Turban leader could already see the Xia Village aflame from the war.

But behind the wooden gates of the Xia village were not panicked villagers, but the elite infantry in a long spear formation.

“Long spear formation, attack!”

Hua Mulan had switched her weapon to a red tassel spear as she led the charge of fifty elite Xia village infantrymen forward, armed with long spears and leather shields.

The head of the Yellow Turban struck down with his large sword, only to be blocked by Hua Mulan. With a backhand shot, the leader of the Yellow Turbans was picked off his mount. Suddenly, a dagger appeared in Hua Mulan’s left hand. Blood spurted from his throat as she killed the leader of the Yellow Turbans.

At once, all fifty elite infantrymen thrust forward with dense spears as the Yellow Turban cavalry turned their horses back.

“Villagers, approach! Capture their war horses!”

Alongside the two ordinary heroes, Wu Shang and Zhao Qi, Chu Tian led three hundred militia soldiers armed with a variety of weapons to block the yellow turban infantry at the entrance of the village. Blood stained the gates.
