Lord of the Oasis

Chapter 677. The coal mine we went to on the first day

The group walked past the employee dormitories and coal warehouses, and finally arrived at the coal production area.

Kant stood on the high ground, looking down at the entire mine.

All the workers are busy in and out: some are responsible for mining with machines, some are responsible for measuring, and some are responsible for transporting.

"Based on the results obtained so far, what is the approximate annual output of this coal mine?" Kant asked Croretz.

"About 1,200 tons. This is an estimate based on the premise of reducing the geological damage caused by coal mining." Crorez replied.

"Well, for our current technical level, this kind of output is really amazing." Kant couldn't help but nodded and commented: "So what is the quality of the coal produced, what are the results of your inspection?"

"We brought samples from the coal bunker." Croretz handed Kande a pair of workman's gloves, and then the subordinate behind him pushed out a small basket of coal.

After watching Kant put the gloves on his hands, Crorez moved the coal basket forward and introduced it to Kant's soldiers: "This is the coal that has been screened in the factory and stored in the warehouse."

Kant weighed a piece and observed it carefully: from the appearance, the quality of the coal was indeed pretty good. It's glossy black and has a sheen when exposed to natural light. The degree of coalification is still relatively deep. Kant broke off a small piece from it, rubbed it back and forth on a wooden board, and crushed it into powder. After seeing that the scratches on the wooden board were also dark gray, he breathed a sigh of relief.

He stood up and said to Crorez: "The expedition to the Kingdom of the Dead still brought a lot of unexpected benefits. If you have a more detailed report, you don't need to leave it to me. If you need someone to take charge, I will Let Dehreim send someone to assist you.”

"Thank you, Lord." Croriz responded with a salute.

Immediately afterwards, the group walked down the high ground.

Croretz walked in front of everyone and took Kant and others through the entire assembly line operation sequence in the coal mining plant.

It wasn't until late in the evening that a group of people walked out of the factory.

Got on the carriage and returned to Durandal.

"Today's work is over." Standing in front of the B\u0026B building where he was resting, Kant said to Croretz.

"Then, lord, go back and have a good rest. I will take my leave first." Feeling the fatigue in Kant's words,

Crorez consciously said goodbye first.

"Well, you too, thank you for your hard work." Kant responded.

The two said goodbye to each other, and Crorez watched Kant enter the building, then turned and left.

Kant returned to the room and saw a large pile of copywriting piled on the round table in the living room.

It seems that the messenger brought it from Dehrim.

Kant walked to the chair next to the table and sat down.

When he came to Durandal, his whole day's schedule became even more full.

Kant picked up the copybook on the top and read it.

"Dong dong." There was a knock on the door.

"Please come in." Kant said without raising his head.

It wasn't until he heard footsteps approaching him that Kant raised his head and looked at him.

The royal messenger stood in front of him politely and greeted: "Lord, you are back."

"Yes. Did you send these today?" Kant glanced at the copywriting on the table and said.

"Yes. This is the document that will be sent to the Senate Hall within a week starting from the day when the lord sets out for Durandal." The messenger explained softly.

"Well, there are indeed quite a few." Kant said with a headache: "Then when will you go back?"

"I originally wanted to go back tonight, but the road conditions in the desert have become worse and worse recently. I had no choice but to stay and asked the soldiers by the city wall. They told me that the weather would be better tomorrow, so I planned to go there tomorrow. Go back later." The messenger replied carefully.

"Well, then before you leave tomorrow night, I will give you the corrected copy to take back." Kant pinched the bridge of his nose and said thoughtfully.

The messenger heard what Kant said and looked at the hill of copywriting on the table. He couldn't help showing a look of shock, but he had indeed stayed with Kant for a long time, and he understood Kant's uncompromising temperament. After being quiet for a while, he hesitated and said, "Lord, are you in a hurry?"

"It's okay. The ministers who submitted the report are probably a little anxious waiting for the reply. In order to solve it as soon as possible, it is better to correct it quickly and bring it back to them." Kant shook his head and said.

"Okay then." The messenger's eyes were slightly worried and he agreed: "Then I will make a pot of tea for you, Lord."

After speaking, he bowed and left Kant's room.

Kant took out the ink and began to carefully mark the copy he had read.

He didn't even notice the knock on the door of the royal messenger. Sensing Kant's concentration, the messenger carefully put down the teapot, closed the door and left.

"Master Messenger, has the lord not rested yet?" When the messenger reached the first floor, one of the soldiers sitting in the hall chatting took the initiative to talk to him.

"The lord will probably not sleep tonight. Are you responsible for keeping vigil?" the messenger replied.

"Yes, it's our turn to stand guard today. It's quite boring." The soldier who had spoken before responded after being questioned.

"Is the lord busy dealing with the government affairs from Dehreim? It's really hard work." The soldier sitting on the other side said with emotion.

"The lord has been running around all day, and is now in the room approving documents. Please be quiet in the hall on this floor and don't disturb the lord." The messenger ordered.

"Yes!" replied the two soldiers.

The messenger nodded and walked back to his room on the second floor to rest.

At noon the next day, after feeding the camels with food, grass and water, the messenger walked to the residential building.

The weather is indeed good today. I heard from the soldiers on the tower that the storm in the desert has finally calmed down and the visibility is several times better than last night.

The messenger walked up to the stairs of the third floor, preparing to report to Kant that his departure time would probably be advanced.

But he happened to meet Kant who was going out with a bunch of copywriting.

"Well, are you here?" Kant asked, as he was about to give the approved copy to someone to forward it to him.

The messenger saw the slightly haggard lord and replied: "I'm here to report to you the departure time."

"Are you about to set off? It just so happens that I can hand these over to you directly. Be careful on the way." Kant said as he handed the document in his arms to the courier on the opposite side.

"Ah, thank you for your hard work, Lord." The messenger thanked you.

Kant smiled and shook his head, turned his head and looked out the window in the corridor, and said, "The weather is really nice today."

As soon as he finished speaking, he turned around and went back to his room.

He was probably too sleepy, the royal messenger thought as he stood there with his arms full of documents.
