Magical Cosmic

Chapter 61 - Forcing Back the Court Magicians

After crossing the sickening wormhole, I glanced through the holo-monitor of the ship. I found that all the passengers on board seemed to have a nausea face, but no one received any life-threatening condition.

Hmm… Figured... The reason why there was an extreme feeling of drowsiness from when I crossed this wormhole for the first time must have been influenced by my exhaustion. Moreover, the ship now has a better and faster functioning thruster. Crossing the wormhole only took a third of the time than before; thus, less time to get exposed.

"The feeling of crossing the wormhole… what an experience." Landon gazed at his trembling hands, then observed the space outside. "Is this… 'another universe'?"

"Indeed. Now you can see that I wasn't lying, right?"

"Mhm… Technically you're tellin' the truth, but… I can't be sure yet if it's really 'another universe' or some part of space in the same universe we're befo—"

"In any case, we'll re-entry a plane shortly."

"Plane? Re-entry a 'plane'? What are you talking about…? Hmm...? This…"

Since the wormhole was located not far from the "Prime Magical Plane," it only took a moment to reach the atmosphere. Luckily the wormhole nor the plane seemed to move much from their initial position, so it would take me straight to my base.

Come to think of it, the holo-watch shows that it's midnight which should be around noon in this world. As for the date… 25 November 3153. It's only been less than a month since… but it feels like months, huh?

"Why is your face looks like someone that has been longin' for something?"

"No, it's nothing. ATA, how much time needed until we reach the base?"

[Calculating the location of the base… it would take roughly 10 minutes.]

"Base? You have set up a base, huh? Oh, and I might get ahead of myself, but… is there any intelligent creature in this place? Even if there's one that shows the intelligence of a pre-sentient, it will be a ground-breaking discovery!" Landon stared at me with a blazing look.

"Whoa there! I'm not saying that there isn't, but you won't believe it until you see it. Ah… there's also 'magic' in this world just like what I said earlier."

"Magic? Did you think that I'd believe something unscientific like 'magic'? I might be an ex-director of the Supernatural Department, but… no, wait… if this is a different universe…" Landon continued to murmur in his thought.

Ten minutes later, I could finally see my base in the distance. Prior to leaving the base behind, I had instructed ATA's backup to start constructing the jelly, Clearwater Giant Crab, and invisible beetle farm areas. Also, several other projects as well.

Hmm… naming it 'jelly' is weird, maybe 'Slime' would be more fit? As for the 'invisible beetle,' I think 'Invisible Beetle' will just do. Still, I wonder... how much the base had developed in the past month?

"Hey, is that place down there your base? Why did it seem that it was under attack?"

"Hmm…? What do you mean?"

Suddenly, ATA's frosty voice appeared on my mind. Since the last nanobot upgrade, it was possible to directly transmit a message. [Host. I have established a connection with my backup on the base. Since a few hours ago, 20,000 Razel soldiers were attacking, being led by the Razel's head court magician.]

"What?!" I glanced through the holo-screen, finding that the base was being sieged. The enemy had already breached the outer wall and currently about to attack the inner wall.

This… unforgivable! Though I had anticipated this much before I went back, it still hurt my nerve. Wait, this can be a good chance to test out the new MRS.

Without dawdling further, I activated the new nano-suit from a small device on my neck that instantly wrapped around my body with nanomaterial armor. All parts of my hands, legs, stomach, and even head was covered instantly, painted black and strong. Sure convenient. It'd take me a minute if I used the manual one. Though, this ship now has an auto-armory area.

"Victor, as far as I could see, the one that attacks your base must be an intelligent lifeform! And… they're bipedal just like a human? Just what kind of world is this?"

"There's no time to answer your question right now. I'll be going for now and you stay at the ship." Not waiting for his answer, I swiftly ran out of the room to get into my MRS.

"W-Wait—"

Subsequently, I got into the hangar inside the ship. The Ever-Changeable MRS stood tall in the middle, looking ready to battle. I, of course, went inside swiftly and naturally like I had done it before.

"Now then, let's see the fruit of my labor." Flexing out my fingers, I was a little bit excited to test out the thing in real. I cannot let my guard down though; using this outside the simulation pod is a first.

"Keep the ship in invisible mode and… I think I'm ready to go. Open the ship's hangar!"

[Affirmative.]

As the hangar gate opened, the hologram inside the MRS lit up. Without much hesitation, I drove the MRS out from the hangar, falling freely in the sky. The thruster on the body immediately got activated and adjusted its falling course. Automatically also, the jet on the palms, soles, and the back got activated and stabilized the fall.

"Yup! This is more difficult than the simulation pod. Guess, I need to get used to it first."

Thanks to my practice for the past few days and ATHENA's assistance, it only took me about a minute or two to get familiar with the system. After getting used to using it a bit, I tried to experiment with different things.

"Hmm… I think it's enough. Time to kick some ass!"

Subsequently, I flew the MRS straight to the base.

As I was getting closer and closer, I started to be able to see the army below. I noticed that there was indeed a big army sieging my inner wall of the base — around 10,000 or so soldiers.

Hmm… ATA's backup must have trimmed them down. Still, with advanced weaponry inside the base, it's surprising that the enemy could still last this far.

Just when I was five kilometers away from the army, I could see one person wearing a strange mage attire and holding a monster-looking staff flying on the air. Hmm…? Is he… a Magus?

[Master~! I detected an unknown energy gathering up to the Magus below. I suspect that it was 'mana.']

"What?! Isn't that means he's going to conjure up a spell? How strong is the gathered mana? Compare it to Houston!"

[Yes~! There's a 98% chance that he's preparing for a big spell. As for how it compares to Houston, I'm scared that he's just a small candlelight below the sun, Master!]

Hearing that comparison made me a bit speechless, but I didn't worry too much. The Ever-Changeable MRS was equipped with various ways and weapons to defend and evade. A simple magic spell wouldn't be able to even destroy the powerful energy shield.

Just as I was confident about the MRS's capability, a huge darkness tornado appeared in front and shook the MRS. The energy shield immediately formed up and completely neutralized the impact caused by the tornado. This kind of spell… What kind of existence is he for causing such offensive?

With little expertise that I had, I managed to evade the tornado and went straight to the floating Magus. I could see an expression of shock on his face when he saw that his spell was ineffective.

"Take this!" From the back shoulders of the MRS, railguns came out and fired at him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Yet, the bullets that couldn't be traced by n.a.k.e.d eyes just went through him and his body disappeared into a cloud of darkness. He… he disappeared? No… more like… magic.

"Locate his location!"

[Yes!]

Immediately, ATHENA scanned the place using the MRS's scanner. He was swiftly found 50 meters away near a group of black-robed people that seemed to be a group of court magicians. They were chanting up something as if casting up spells. Wait! They really are!

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Dozens of myriads of spells were approaching my MRS, but I didn't bother to move at all.

Boom! Boom! Bang!

"Hmph! A bunch of ants! Their spells combined didn't even manage to take out 0.1% of the energy shield reserve."

Not bothering to play further, I pointed the MRS palm to them to use the strongest simple weapons available — the "Gravity Bomb." A ball of gravity was suddenly ejected to them. In a split second, the gravity ball exploded, causing a blinding crack of space that devoured anything within 100 meters of the source.

All the court magicians, even part of the Razel army were within that range. No matter what spells or means they used, it was proved futile. They couldn't even last a second under the ferocious "Gravity Bomb." Alas… they're just humans in the end. A simple 'Gravity Bomb' can wipe them out.

"Huh…? Wait! ATHENA, scan for any living court magicians!"

[Yes! …Master, I found eleven surviving court magicians near the bomb site. Ten of them are badly to grievously injured, but one of them which is the head court magician seems to be fine. Here's the recorded footage captured by the MRS.]

Just then, a holo-screen appeared on my HUD and showed me the way how they managed to escape. "Are you serious?! Hmm… I couldn't take this Magus lightly, or should I call, 'Dark-Elementalist.'"
