24. The Court of Owls

"Looks like you need a ride, friend."

When a kid in a Robin uniform says that to you, Jude guesses who he is in an instant.

There is only one Batman, Bruce Wayne, but his wingman Robin has appeared five times before and after.

They are Dick Grayson of the first generation, and later Nightwing. The second-generation Jason Todd was resurrected as the second barrel of red hood after being killed by the clown.

The third-generation Robin is Tim Drake, who is known as the most obedient Robin. After the cloak battle, he became a solo Red Robin. The fourth-generation Robin is Stephanie Brown, the only female Robin and Tim Drake's girlfriend who later became Batgirl.

The fifth-generation Robin is the kid standing in front of Jude named Damian Wayne, the biological son of Bruce Wayne, and his mother is Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of the ninja master.

This kid is more insane than the four predecessors, and of course he died more times. Batman even went to Apocalypse for him, and took food from Darkseid.

Jude looked at the Batmobile in front of him. If nothing else, Bruce Wayne should be sitting in the driver's seat.

"It's going to be daylight soon, is it really okay to swagger and drive the Batmobile like this?"

Damian raised his head with his arms folded and said, "It's just because it's almost dawn, so we need a fast vehicle. The court is monitoring all of this, and they will come again soon."

"so what?"

"So you better come up, Batman wants to ask you something."

"What if I say no?"

Damian smiled and clenched his fists: "Then I don't mind asking you to come up."

Bridget looked at the little kid in front of her with some displeasure: "You are good at beating, aren't you? Little guy."

Damian's voice sank immediately: "Don't call me little guy, neither my mother nor grandpa dare to call me that."

"Yeah, kid, you think you're a superhero in a Robin suit, is Batman kidding me?"

Damian squinted his eyes, and at some point there was an extra bat dart in his hand, and Bridget's fingertips began to emit flames when he saw it.

"Robin!"

"firefly!"

Jude and Bruce stopped at the same time, and then the car door on the other side opened, and Batman's tall body came out of it.

He took the initiative to extend his hand and said, "Batman, I don't think I need to introduce more."

Jude shook hands with him: "I don't have a code name, just call me Herbert, so Batman, what can you do with us?"

Bruce said in a deep voice: "What the court wants to do, I will stop it. If it wants to get you, I will let it down."

"In other words, don't you have your own purpose?"

"Of course, I need an explanation about Arkham."

Jude nodded: "That's right, it's better to talk about it, but can your Batmobile seat five people?"

Robin sneered: "Old man, don't underestimate the Bat family."

As he said that, he pressed a button, and the originally handsome and streamlined Batmobile instantly began to deform, and after a while, it doubled in size, not to mention five people, ten people are more than enough.

"Although the speed will be slower, it is not a problem to accommodate you."

Jude couldn't help sighing: "It really is money ability."

The Batmobile, no, it should be the Batvan or the Batvan. Instead of taking the main road, it took a winding path and headed for the suburbs. It arrived at a country house ten minutes later.

"Come in, this can be used as a temporary residence, and the court can't find it for a while."

Jude looked around and said with some hesitation: "I don't think so. For the Owl Court, Gotham has almost no secrets.

Unless, of course, you take us to your private place. "

Bruce paused, took out the key and opened the door and asked, "Mr. Herbert, you seem to know the court very well."

"It's not so much about understanding, but just knowing some information, are you interested in hearing it?"

Batman still had that suspicious tone: "Why tell me."

"Because they want to kill me and my friends, and although you belong to the darkness, you are at least a knight, a spirited big brother."

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend, and I'm all ears."

Jude walked to the wine cabinet and took out a bottle of brandy, and drank half of the bottle in one breath, before he said, "The Court of Owls is an ancient legend that existed in Gotham. You must have heard a song."

"Beware of the Court of Owls, always watching your travels."

"Looking at Gotham City from the shadows, hiding in the attic with low walls."

"He is present in the house, and He is present in the bed."

"Don't mention his name, the sharp claws will come to find you."

Ivy hummed the song softly. In Gotham, many people can sing this scary nursery rhyme.

"That's right, that's it. No one knows when the court was born, but it must have been earlier than when the Wayne family took root in Gotham."

"Alan Wayne, do you know? He is the grandfather of Bruce Wayne, the current president of the Wayne Group, and the builder of most of Gotham City, laying a solid foundation for the strength of the Wayne Group."

Hearing Jude say Alan Wayne, Bruce and Damian's hearts skipped a beat, because the name was so familiar to them.

"It's just that he died on the streets of Gotham City in 1922, and he plunged into the sewer and drowned. It is said that he laughed like a madman before he died. Do you know why?"

Bruce tried his best to calm himself down, and asked lightly, "Could it be the court?"

"bing go! That's right, Alan Wayne is unwilling to obey the court, so must be cleared, he was injected with neurotoxin by Talon, resulting in a laughing death."

"But the Wayne Group did not collapse as the court expected. Bruce Wayne's father, Thomas Wayne, instead made it grow stronger until he became the head of Gotham's four major families and the day-to-day controller of Gotham."

Hearing this, Damian couldn't help asking, "Why is it daytime?"

Jude downed the rest of the brandy and laughed loudly: "Silly boy, because someone else controls the night!"

"From then on, the court and the Wayne Group began to compete for control of Gotham. The court hoped that Gotham would remain chaotic, and Wayne hoped that Gotham would usher in a new life. The conflicts became more and more intense, which eventually led to the outbreak of that incident."

At this moment, no matter how Bruce suppressed his emotions, his hands trembled slightly, and Jude stared at him with a smile.

The room fell silent for a moment, and after a while, Bruce asked in a hoarse voice: "What is the incident you are talking about?"

"Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne, of course, were shot dead in an alley by some unknown mugger."

Bruce had already suppressed his excitement at this moment, and asked calmly: "So, the Waynes were also killed by the court?"

Unexpectedly, Jude shook his finger: "I don't know either."
