Men Vs Apocalypse

Blood spilled over all the floor as the troll ate one of the legs and s.u.c.k.i.n.g the juice out of it. Some of the villagers frightened to a point that some fainted while the soldiers with swords and shields guarding them were just trembling on the spot. The goblins behind the troll started to mount its attacks onto the guards and most of them were stabbed, slashed or decapitated.

"The system is really screwing me over with this!" Sen can feel the Heart of the Mongoose activating within him as he saw the Mountain Troll.

"The Mountain Troll in the Middle Age Plane are considered the few top most vicious monsters if provoked. Despite their destructive abilities, they tend to keep to themselves whenever possible and enjoys a quiet life. "

"Many described them as unsociable creatures, seeing how they do not wish to be disturb unless there are advantages for it to leave its abode. Their capability to regenerate made it hard for the humans in this current plane to defeat it solely on numbers. "

Some of the the villagers fell to their knees as they heard a loud sound coming from the side of the hall. A piercing pain went to through the face of the troll and it shouted in slight agony. It had not felt pain for a very long time and it hates to feel this way.

An arrow should not feel this painful since it supposed to have a skin that arrows should not be able to penetrate. The goblins turned to look at the direction of the sound and two were met with bullets spiraling out of their bodies.

"Sen, Feng! OUT OF THE HALL NOW." Raizan shouted and changed his target to the biggest one in the Village Hall. The trio ran towards the entrance of the village hall with Raizan covering the rear. The troll was furious with these humans of a different clothing and smell that were able to hurt him. He was going to have their heads as trophy.

As Feng reached the entrance, the scene outside was not pretty either. Some of the goblins were dragging children and women away while the unarmed men who were being tortured and killed at the spot. There were still minor clashes between a few town guards at the very centre of the village square which was right in front of the village hall but they were losing their men at all sides.

"Savages!" Feng shouted as he stopped running to blast a goblin off that was bringing children and women away from the village square.

"Feng! Focus! Find a vantage point and kill any archers or ranged users in the area! MAJ Raizan help distract the mountain troll! I will try to activate my Mobile Walker!" Sen shouted.

"Damn it, of all people, I am doing the riskiest job! I should not have give you the permission to order me around, Sen!" Raizan's hands start to glow with magic as he speaks while putting bullets into the mountain troll.

"Hahahah! Major, you should be setting an example!" Sen answered disrespectfully and he laughed as he popped his gun twice to the surrounding enemies. It seems that the dexterity boost which Sen received from the system attribute upgrade gave him a better reaction speed, allowing him to fire twice the speed occasionally.

Captain Rogers and his loyal team of guards who were at the center of the city square saw the commotion in front of the hall's entrance as they were fending off the goblins that encircling them. He was shocked to see three individuals using a type of stick that blew fire and thundering sounds from the end of the stick.

With each sound akin to a thunder clap, a goblin from afar dropped dead. Some even had their heads blown away. He knew they were not from the village or from anywhere near here.

"What kind of sorcery is that! No matter, if this is the answer to our prayers...If these warlocks are able to fend off the goblin attacks, I do not mind Church's punishment on conspiring with the devil!" Rogers thought to himself before he shouted to his team. "Hold steady! It seems help unexpectedly arrived! Defend the princess at all cost!"

The Royal Guards grounded their tower shields firmly and with renewed vigor, they fended the incoming monsters. A lady was lying on the ground with an abdominal wound and the medic beside her was trying his best to keep the bleeding to the minimum while attempting to stitch the wound up. Captain Rogers stab his sword between the eye sockets of another goblin and shouted back at the medic. "How long more before it is safe to move her?! We are sitting ducks here!"

"Well, the Hall is not that safe either you arse! Stop rushing me!" the medic took a peek towards the hall when the mountain troll charged out of it. Captain Rogers initially fell into despair but with the 'warlocks' around, that glimmer of hope to get the princess to safety turned real again and he is not letting go of this chance.

Suddenly, he heard a loud thumping sound that came near the Hall. A metallic spider looking abomination landed on the top of one of the houses from nowhere. The warlock seem to be entering the spider by tearing open its skin.

In no time, the abomination lifted a long tube, aiming towards the mountain troll. Fire and black smoke appeared from the tube with a loud roar. The 5 metre tall mountain troll staggered backward with his entire left arm missing.

"Such terrifying powers!" Both the goblin army and Captain Rogers were startled but the experienced captain was able to recover quicker than the goblins and took the opportunity to slay some down with his swordplay.

"Hahahahaha! Nicely done Sen!" Raizan snapped his fingers and the staggered mountain troll was struck by a thick muted lightning bolt from the clear night sky. "So it seems my magic still do work in this place."

The troll could not withstand the continuous attack of the tank shell and lightning bolt attack . It fell to its knees, feeling slightly paralysed. This time, Raizan focused on the goblins that were still in the Village Hall and shouted.

"Tracing Arrows of Chain Lightning!"

Multiple blasts of lightning zips past the mountain troll and attacked the goblins. Nothing but charred bodies of goblins were left standing in the hall.

"Feng! Do you think you can strengthen the Strider?" Sen spoke via the loudspeaker of the Strider, causing everyone in the vicinity to hear it. Feng shot another goblin down and threw his hammer towards the mobile walker, striking it before it flew back to Feng again.

The Strider glowed with a light azure aura and Sen blasted another shell out of the strider. The staggered mountain troll saw the incoming shell and it seemed to have regretted coming out of the mountains. It should have stayed in the mountains then being exploded into pieces.

As the dust settled down near the Hall's entrance, all the goblins in the Village Square saw were the troll's feet. Morale went haywired for them, some tried to run and hide. The others became enraged and started to charge towards the guards in a chaotic manner.

Sen was smiling at the kill he just made and he turned the strider to face the Village Square He reloaded his general purpose machine gun and started firing to support the odd group of troops that were not moving anywhere from the centre.

"It seems they are defending something or someone." Sen checked his minimap and saw there was a '+' symbol and miniature crown symbol being surrounded by multiple blue dots.

"Someone important is injured?"

Sen sighed and killed a few more goblins with Strider's machine gun. The number of dead goblin bodies started to pile up. "Hey Sen, it seems like their number are dwindling and almost all of them are starting to run away. Even the the sun is coming out! I guess we are winning soon?" Feng took a breather after knocking another goblin dead with his hammer.

Before Sen can replied, his minimap suddenly did a radar swipe again and flashed a large mass of dots from the forest area. "Oh Feng...do you really have to raise a death flag?" Sen bitterly said through the intercom system.

A loud trumpet noise boomed from the edge of the forest.
