Merlin - The Great Gifter

Chapter 2 - History

180 years ago a hunter hunted near the cursed gorge. The bad luck was that the shot deer had slumped down. An unfortunate hunter came down in search. When he came down to the side of the corpse, he noticed something glowing.

Metal ore. Only one metal shines: Green Silver. The man threw himself into the extraction. However, without a pickaxe and a hammer, he obtained only a small shard. When he was returning to the village, a ranger caught him.

-Stop! How dare you hunt animals belonging to the duke.

- Good morning, Mr. Bowwing. I did not hunt at all. I just went for a walk.

- With a bow and a skinning knife?

- Hahahah, it's only for security, who knows what's up in this forest.

- You will not get away with it anyway. Will you come with me voluntarily or should I mix your family?

- Easy easy. I have interesting information for the duke. I'll go.

In this way, the local magnate found out about the ore at the bottom of the cursed gorge. He tried to keep it secret. But people working in the green silver mine began to get sick and then die. When others found out about the discovery, there was a fever all over the country. Greed overwhelmed people. The great nobles sent their armies and hired mercenaries. When the Kingdom of Yellow Doe entered the battlefield, the whole situation was sharpened. The local magnates came to an agreement with the merchants. The kingdom of Yellow Doe must be stopped. That is how the Republic of Four cities was created. The city of Red Lion located south-east of the green silver mine specialized in training the best soldiers, warriors but also scouts and assassins.

The City of Green Fish has gathered around them merchants and noblemen living off what the Cold Sea in the north-east of the mine offered. The town of Yellow Bear is located near the City of Green Fish north of the Cursed Gorge. People who lived in it were famous for their strength and loyalty. They were the heart of the alliance and the Republic of the Four Cities. Last city of the Purple Owl. If the other cities were the heart, stomach and arm of the Republic, the Purple Owl was the brain. She was also the most proud as well as hated by the rest of the alliance. The most important buildings in the city were the Guild of Diplomats, the School of Talent and the Medical Congress. In their eyes they were educated scholars, medics, politicians, priests and people of Gift. Other cities honestly hated these sniggly snobs, but everything is better than the Kingdom of Yellow Doe.

The Republic of Four Cities, as well as the huge cities of the Purple Owl, the Red Lion, the Green Fish and the Yellow Bear, have been built for a long period of time. People must have suffered a lot from the Kingdom's hand so that even the most powerful enemies such as Lord Morton of the City of Yellow Bear and the Premier of the City of the Purple Owl Edward Willmington would bury the ax of war. In the Gray Feature, the representatives of the Four Cities signed an alliance and the establishment of a Republic whose objective is to defend the founding cities and the Green Silver Mine. Profits are to be divided equally and the authority over the mine is to be carried by four people, one from each city which will be exchanged every three years. To commemorate this event, the Gray Feature has been renamed the Silver Feature. Prime Minister Edward went as a representative of the Republic to the Scarlet Empire. After a week of negotiations, there was a consensus. The Republic adopted the religion of the Empire and gave 50% of the green silver in exchange, received protection and the word of the Emperor that until it would be faithful it would exist.

Lord Morton and General Ander Richmond of the City of Red Lion were outraged by the terms of the contract, but they could do nothing about it. For the good of the Republic, they have become sore. However, in their hearts, they swore that they would not reject the beliefs of their fathers. Merchants from the Fishborn family from the City of Green Fish were very satisfied with the conditions, they knew very well that only peace can bring prosperity, that's why they wanted to settle the matter as soon as possible. The Fishborn motto was very famous: "Family, honor, money, but if you have to choose one, choose money".
