MicroTech: Academy Of Idiots

Chapter 70 - Who Is Betraying Again?

"I should be," Ni Chen turned to his side in the single comfy sofa.

This secretive tone and sad behavior of his friend were indigestible for Lui as he slowly took a seat and sighed.

"The matter seems serious. Can you please solve the riddle which you are trying to state?" Lui asked solemnly.

"Raozuo and kaolin have left the Academy. And now with Renren, I'm not sure what he's up to," Ni Chen rubbed his temple. He was really upset after he saw Renren with the enemy.

"What! When did they leave?" Lui couldn't believe it.

Who was Tian? Someone who adopted Lui just to kill him in the end. Was Reneren not aware of it that they were casually talking?

"My head will explode if I keep on thinking, so don't question me about anything for the time being," Ni Chen declared as he sprawled himself on the comfy sofa and closed his eyes.

Ni Chen's words were still echoing in Lui's thoughts. He was baffled. He even forgot to blink his eyes in the shock of it all.

"This is all because of this new world. Our friends are turning enemies," Ni Chen yelled in frustration.

"That can't be true..." Lui spoke with a daunting uncertainty as he relaxed by the side of the sofa and gave a smug smile.

A new world or old world cannot change the mind or heart. It remains the same. It's possible that the modern world was helping them to bring out their heart's grudges, which they had been hiding from for some time. Lui sighed, and to think that he was ignorant all this while. An example is Rim.

"Leave it! Let's see what he is trying to do. Tell me, what is your plan for the contracting of the project?" Ni Chen perceived Lui's mind was deep in thoughts and swiftly reasoned to change the topic.

"I cannot leave it. The secret I didn't share with anyone of you, I said to Renren. If he betrays me, then he would surely use this secret as a weapon against me," he muttered with a concerned voice.

"What secret?" Ni Chen demanded finding it hard to believe that Lui kept any secret from him.

"Hyal! I found her in the hidden lab of this house. She was number 4 of the previous experiments." Lui revealed. "It was through Gib that I came to know that she belonged to the lost district. This district is not open for everyone. In fact, it is illegal to visit there. Hyal also told me that if the Academy came to know about her identity, they would critically investigate. Now, I don't know what Renren is planning..." He expressed as he shook his head in disappointment.

Ni Chen heard and his eyes were almost coming out of socket in shock. This was not a simple secret. It could ruin the life of his friend though he was not involved but who would believe him if he told them that he wasn't the one who had brought her. He was studying hard to fulfill the dreams of the previous Lui yet he implicated him by leaving such threat behind.

"It is problematic…" Ni Chen ventured to say after some minutes of silence and absorbing the news. If the secret came out before the contract of the project, then no one will be ready to accept it, and it would be hard to find even the most feasible proposal for the project.

"Hide that girl somewhere!" Ni Chen admonished.

"She is a living human. Where can I hide her? Did you not see how valiantly she saved me. Do you think that I would return this favor by simply abandoning her?" Lui chided as he was emotionally moved by her saving grace. He couldn't think of getting rid of her just because her presence could spell trouble for him.

Ni Chen couldn't force his friend either. If he was in his place, he would have done the same. He cannot be a coward in such matters, but where is the solutions to this problem?

"I was thinking to send her back because she wished it too. But, I got caught up in another problem. And she was also hurt badly," he heaved a deep sigh.

"What about your exams? How will you get promoted? They cannot possibly let you waste one more year in the same section," there was a long list of problems for them, and especially Lui was caught in the middle of it all.

"I'm not sure either..." Lui shrugged his shoulders. At the same time; the administration sent an extended notification about the summary of the decision made by the international examination council.

The device was placed on the table. Ni Chen stood up and gave it to him. Lui read it and smiled. As expected from professional administration.

He handed the device to Ni Chen to take a look.

The international council accepted the excuse and permitted to take individual exams from a particular student.

"Finally, this news has lifted fallen spirits up again," Ni Chen sighed and relaxed a bit after reading the notification.

"Keep your spirits high, if you want to live, with dignity in this world," Lui reminded.

"Man, I know nothing just keep your eyes open from now on. Also, my section mate who always mocked me for being an idiot failed the finals. I'm not happy because he tipped me off that he passed since he could tell all the new section about his background. I thought he would pass and I will be able to know about the previous owner of this body but alas I might not be able to know now..." He regretted that his enemy failed his exams. If it was within his means he would have assisted him to pass the exams.

"I hope your background wasn't as bad as mine; else someone would take away your girl..." Lui uttered in a teasing tone. He felt less worried after knowing that he could submit individual finals.

"Ahh… stop mentioning her already..." Ni Chen pleaded as he blushed. He stood up to check all the rooms and locks of the house and also did some dusting. Lui was not well yet so he wouldn't be able to do it for time being.

Lippizen opened his personal data device and did not receive any threat of data being stolen or warning.

But the words of his friend were still in his mind, he thought to buy the service for keeping his data saved, he cannot take risk for this new project.
