Chapter 1 - Unfortunately, I Died

"The sun was shining brightly that day… and the skies were simply beautiful - a perfect weather! As if nothing could go wrong.. until… it all went wrong."

"One cold caramel macchiato, upside down, with two pumps of affogato", ordered a beautiful customer. "Oh, and one cheesecake with strawberry syrup. For here."

"Got it! And what name should I put in your cup, miss?", answered the barista.

The woman chuckled. "Katy Perry"

"What a beautiful name! One caramel macchiato with affogato for Katy Perry coming right up!", she said cheerfully. "Feel free to take a seat while you wait."

The barista began making coffee while the customer looked for a couch to sit.

~Monologue~

Hi! My name is "Iris White", the female barista you see with long dark brown hair, and a pair of light brown eyes. I'm 22 years old and I currently live with my aunt since my parents died in an accident six years ago. They didn't leave much money and so unfortunately, I didn't manage to go to college. Instead, I decided to work to help my aunt pay the bills. After many applications, I got hired as a barista in a small coffee shop near home. Actually, I wasn't qualified as a barista when I applied but it seems that the owner took pity on me that's why they hired me. And for that, I am very thankful for them. As a sign of my gratitude, I always make sure to it that I do my best in serving the customers.

Being a barista is actually quite an exhausting job as opposed to what many may think...especially when there's a bunch of customers arriving in one go. But hey, I'm not saying I hate my job. On the contrary, I actually love it for this is also the place where I met my boyfriend, "Kei", a businessman. He's the guy with short black hair and dark brown eyes wearing a long sleeve polo shirt, drinking his coffee in the corner. He's currently waiting for my shift to finish. Look at him. Isn't he handsome? And kind, too...and sweet… and romantic… and very considerate… I used to be dull and lonely before, ever since my parents died, but he did everything to make me smile again. I really love him ...plus, he's good in bed…. Ooops! Okay, I'm staring at him now. Stop! Focus on your job!

Iris finished making the coffee. After taking a cheesecake and putting it in a small plate, she drizzled it with strawberry syrup and brought it to the beautiful customer. It is now exactly 5:00 pm and the end of her shift. She quickly went to the locker room to change her clothes and said goodbye to her colleagues and the owner.

"I'm done!", she said standing in front of Kei. "Let's go?"

Kei nodded and stood up, picking his coat and hanging his arms on Iris' shoulders. "Are you exhausted? Would you like to relax somewhere first?"

"Yeah, it's a very tiring Friday.", she g.r.o.a.n.e.d. "How about you? How's work?"

"Nothing out of the ordinary. Still the same. Actually, it's not that busy today so i still have a lot of energy."

Iris smiled mischievously. "Oohh~ you still have a lot of energy, huh?"

Kei, noticing her smile, chuckled. "Well..I didn't mean...haha...but yeah, still lot of energies."

"Then why don't you give me some?"

"As you wish." Kei answered while chuckling.

The two love birds went to Kei's place. He lived in a high-rise c.o.n.d.o.minium located near both of their workplace and his loft located at the top floor. He lives alone so everytime they want to make out, it's not hard to find a place. And so, the two spent the night together.

A few days have passed since their passionate night. Today marks their 3rd year anniversary and they agreed to meet at the city's park for their date. Both were so excited. Kei stopped by a jewelry shop before heading to the meeting place. Iris went to the mall to buy a present then headed to the park. She arrived a little earlier than Kei.

It was a very beautiful day with the sun shining brightly and the skies crystal clear.

After a few minutes, Kei arrived. She can see him from a distance. They both walked towards each other excited. Until ...Iris noticed a child running fast to the road while following a ball. The traffic lights were green and cars were moving fast.

A large truck was approaching rapidly. Instead of walking to Kei, Iris feet started running towards the child and fast! Kei noticed her and followed her.

"Iris, no!", he barely managed to call for her.

Peeep! Peeeeep!! Peeeeeeeep!!!

Iris managed to pull the child back to the safe zone….but...with her body as a sacrifice.

The force she used to pull the child pushed her to the road instead. Kei dived in towards her trying to protect her.

But all was naught…

The lovers who were supposed to celebrate their anniversary…

Lied down on the ground….

Both….dead.

Only the sound of sirens can be heard and people murmuring to each other.

"Kei….I'm…. sorry…."

"Uwaaaaaah! Uwaaa! Uwaaaaah!", the cries of a baby echoed throughout the whole room.

"It's a girl!", the wet nurse shrieked in excitement. "My lady its a girl!"
