31 Chapter 31 Special skill

Alex haven't tested his precision in the game, he knew it wasn't his fort but he was going to try anyway, he threw the stone pebble towards the entrance of the cave and as the stone landed on the ground the sound echoed and all the scorpion looked towards the entrance immediately.

The scorpion at the entrance of the cave stood up immediately while the other two scorpions slowly walked toward the entrance.

It played out exactly how Alex wanted it, he wanted to steal the crystal that the scorpion broke from the ground. Stealing crystals was not his mission but it would be his bonus.

After leaving the crystal he would visit the next city where he can sell all the items he gathered, and the crystal would fetch him a large amount of money that would help in his journey.

Alex stealthily walked towards the crystals that were broken, the scorpions were still looking towards the entrance of the cave thinking something or someone was coming in.

[Shiny Crystal - Rare]

'Jackpot...the crystal is of rare quality, which means selling it would fetch me a lot of money, this is great' Alex smiled as he threw all the broken pieces of the crystals into his inventory.

The excitement the crystal brought made Alex forget about the scorpions at his bad, he quickly turned around and saw the three scorpions still looking at the cave entrance.

'Phew...they haven't noticed me yet, I should return to my hiding spot' Alex wanted to return to the hole he was hiding.

Alex walked slowly but before he got to the hole he stopped in his tracks, Alex couldn't move as he saw another scorpion coming out from the cave.

[Desert scorpion]

[Level: 18]

[HP: 250]

Instinctively Alex jumped back and the scorpion's pincer hit the ground alerting the other scorpion. Alex couldn't react to the scorpion's attack earlier he just jumped back out of fear.

The moment he laid his eyes on the scorpion all that was on his mind was to get away, the scorpion readied its pincer again and the other scorpions saw Alex and walked towards him ready to tear him apart.

'I have no choice but to use the barrier, one sting from these scorpions means death'

*Boom*

Alex tilted his head to see what was wrong, the first desert scorpion and the normal scorpion were fighting.

Immediately Alex ran towards the entrance of the cave while the scorpions were distracted, Alex walked while coming in so the distance was far.

But now that he was running he would get to the entrance twice as fast, Alex looked back and none of the scorpions were following him, he could see the two scorpions still fighting and one of the scorpions staring at them.

'I thought they were four, where is the last one, did the fighter block my view, anyway I'm out of here' Alex faced forward and focused on running outside.

"I got a bunch of those shiny crystals and I got this amazing barrier, I would use it to escape then I would flee from the Archer then log out" Alex mumbled.

A hissing sound made Alex turn around and a scorpion was rushing towards him at full speed, it was the desert scorpion that he lost sight of.

"Damn...it catching up" Alex increased his speed and tried to run faster but he was already tired. He was slowly reaching exhaustion and the scorpion was catching up.

The scorpion finally caught up to Alex and instead of using its pincers to cut Alex in half, the scorpion aimed its stinger and struck Alex.

A powerful force pushed the stinger backward and prevented it from reaching Alex, the scorpion didn't give up and kept chasing after Alex.

Alex saw that the scorpion was behind him so he pressed the pendant on the necklace and the barrier activated just before the stinger could hit him.

"15...14...13...12...11" Alex counted the seconds in his head as he ran towards the entrance.

"Light, that's the entrance" Alex picked up the pace as he saw the light.

The scorpion didn't give up and kept chasing after using its pincers and stinger to attack him several but the barrier protected him from all the attacks.

"5...4...3" Alex increased his pace but soon something felt off.

Anytime the scorpion attacked the barrier he would feel a twinge but he didn't feel anything, he looked back and the scorpion had vanished.

Alex didn't know if the scorpion had given up or tried something else but it didn't matter, all that mattered to him now was surviving.

The necklace faded away from Alex's neck but he was nearly at the entrance and the scorpion was gone. A small piece of stone landed on Alex's head and he looked up.

The scorpion tried to attack Alex several times but it couldn't succeed so instead of stopping the scorpion was trying to get in front of him and stop him from leaving by all means.

"Shit" Alex shouted as the scorpion landed in front of him just outside the cave entrance.

The scorpion was outside of the cave while Alex was still inside, he stopped in his tracks unable to make another move, the barrier was gone but the scorpion didn't know so he had a small chance of survival.

"He really did it...but I don't see him anywhere" Huntress muttered as she looked around.

[Recharge Complete]

"Finally"

Huntress aimed her bow toward the desert scorpion standing outside the cave, her bow emitted a powerful aura that anyone close to her would sense.

The scorpion used his pincers and tried to divide Alex's body in two but before it could cut him, the time slowed down, in the eye of everyone it looked normal but to Huntress the time was moving extremely slow.

Huntress took a deep breath before letting go of the arrow, as soon as she let go of the arrow the force hurl her backward attempting to throw her off the mountain but she had already tied her legs so she couldn't fall.
