Monster Evolution

Last midnight, I found out that my family was not who I think they was. It was all an accident that I saw my father transformed something so hideous and incomprehensible. A Monster.

My heart beated like crazy and I felt my body burning up.

[Heartbeat] Lub dub, lub dub, lub dub.....

I thought I was going crazy with what I saw. It was hard to believe even though it was happening right in front of me. I came home from drinking with my friends and I thought that I was so drunk that I had hallucinations when I came home. I dismissed the idea that it was all in my head when I suddenly remembered that the beer we drank was some flavored beer with low alcoholic content. I was petrified because of the fear welling up inside me.

I thought, 'This can't be real.'

Only to remind me that our family is strong in tolerance towards alcohol.

My father transformed and some parts of his body deformed and changed into parts of some kind of animal resembling to a wolf with black fur. After a minute, the crackling bones being deformed and transforming came to a sudden stop. 'Was it over?' I thought.

The monster suddenly sniffed and turned his attention towards me. "F*ck". I couldn't help screaming the word out loud. 'Please, I'm your only son. Don't kill me!'. I thought.

A person dashed right in front of my dad. The person was so fast it seemed like a blur until it stopped so that I could Identify who it was. It was my mother. I never knew she could run that fast though. She suddenly spoke words I couldn't understand and made hand signs that seemed weird that made me realized it was a spell. It was an incantation to make me fall asleep and wipe my memories.

I again felt something burning up inside me and it seemed to be resisting the spell that was used on me but at the same time I felt sleepy. My vision was gradually becoming darker and blurred. I felt warm inside and it made very comfortable. It made me very drowsy.

I felt that I was being carried. My mind seemed to be clouded. After a few seconds, I felt my head was pricked and I was in pain. It kept me awake for sometime but at the same time I felt very weak.

It must be the spell that was casted on me.

I heard voices all over the room and they were discussing about something but I can't clearly hear what they were saying. The voices calmed down after I was relieved from the pain I was experiencing. I fell asleep after that.

Morning came and I opened my eyes and I found myself back in my room. As if it was like nothing actually happened. It was very quiet and serene. Just like always. I looked around my room to see any differences and I thought that 'Was it all a dream?'.

No! A fool would only dismiss and be ignorant enough to consider all of that wasn't real. As I remembered all the things that occured. I was sober and wide awake at that moment. So dismissed the idea of having a dream.

I stood up from my bed and walk towards my window to look outside. The view was beautiful and blissful. We live on the mountains where our large mansion resides. You can see the vast trees across the mountains that goes on and on.

You may think that I must be far away from the city because I live on a mountain but the ride going to the city took only 40 minutes.

As I was mesmerizing the view in front of me, I smelled something. I felt weird as I don't know where the scent was coming from. As my room was always clean for the household workers always came to tidy up my room. I looked around and under my bed to see where the scent was coming from.

It smelled so good. It made me hungry. I heard my stomach growling.

I tracked and followed where it came from. I noticed that it didn't came from the kitchen as there was no one there. There was no food that was being cooked. I pondered thinking where could this smell come from.

A gust of wind made the scent much more stronger and I saw that it came from the storage shed outside the house. I remembered that my family never made me go near the storage house for some reason. I had my doubts what was inside the storage shed. I made my way towards the shed. It made me curious what was inside to smell so good. What could possibly be inside that can make such aroma.

As I walked towards the shed, I saw our butler named Steven. He asked where I was going. I told him I was going to the shed to look for something. He had a weird expression on his face when I told him that.

Steven, " Let me go with you." In a cold way.

I thought why would he come with me as I am only taking a look what was inside and he was different all of a sudden. I told him, " Okay."

We made our way towards the shed. Steven opened the door which he used a key to unlock it. I forgot the shed was always locked. Good thing Steven is here or I couldn't have open it.

I peeked inside and saw many things that is useful in the house and garden. There were cleaning materials. The items varied in the room and some of them I could not identify.

I tried to look around carefully to see whether there was food being stored around somewhere. I scratched my head after I didn't see anything weird. It looked so normal.

"Is anything wrong young master?" Steven said.

I shook my head and answered him, " No. Everything's fine. I was just curious what was inside."

I was confused and asked myself what did I smell that came from this place. Around here the smell is stronger compared inside the house.

I left the shed with Steven. I walked back and went towards the kitchen as I was getting hungrier every passing moment. I grabbed some frozen food in the fridge and for some reason I felt getting hungrier as I ate. My stomach seems a little weird today. I ate more and more. I felt that my stomach was getting full and I stopped because I couldn't eat anymore.

Suddenly, my belly was getting warm and I could feel that I was hungry again. What the F*ck. How come I am hungry again? But I felt that I was full of energy. This day keeps getting weirder and weirder. Earlier, I smelled something so good and now, I'm so hungry and full of energy.

I went back to my room and took my jogging outfit and ran outside the house going towards the mountain trail I use to go jogging. I ran and felt that my body became lighter for some reason and somehow my endurance was a bit better than before.

I thought that perhaps it maybe connected to what happened last night.

'Am I a monster?'

I laughed the idea but could not dismiss it because my own father transformed right in front of my eyes. They must have thought that I wasn't going to remember the whole damn thing. I haven't even seen my parents yet. Where could they be at this time? They are usually around morning and the afternoon but are hard to come by when it's night time.

I came back with beads of sweat and I was so wet. I felt that jogging could be so good sometimes. I may have to go jogging once in a while. I didn't even feel tired like it used to be. Somehow I can still jog for another half-hour.

I changed my clothes and strolled all over the house. I came in contact with some people who worked doing household chores. They greeted me and I smiled and told them they can continue what they were doing. Being a rich young master was the life. I made my way again near towards the storage shed. The scent was still there.

I opened the door seeing that it was unlocked from last time. Steven perhaps forgot to lock it. I looked around and saw it was still the same as before. It came to me and thought of an Idea. Maybe I should use my nose to sniff around where the scent was coming from.

Like a dog sniffing around inside the shed. He sniffed attentively maybe that there was something hidden underground and that was where it was coming from. He knocked on the floor looking for something that could be a hidden door.

After a few tries, he heard that it was different from the ones earlier. There maybe really a hidden door going underground.

'But how could I open it?'

I looked around again to see anything that could be a hidden trigger that may unlock the trap door. I was randomly touching and pulling anything inside that could be used to open it. I suddenly heard something when I pulled a small statue of a wolf that was decorated inside the shed.

The trap door opened and found that there were stairs leading below and the scent was so strong that it made me hungry to the point that it made me salivate. I slowly made my way below because it was too dark. I used my phone flashlight. I was walking down for a minute before I reached the bottom.

There were cells that looked like it could imprison many persons down here but I could not see anyone. It made me curious what was this place made for? I thought that it was a dungeon of some sort.

I walked going deeper inside.

I found myself at a dead end and saw there a large cauldron. The scent that was so good was coming from it. What could it be?

I peeked what was inside and saw a dead body of a person. The cauldron was filled with blood. I was so shocked and scared of what I saw. There were so many things that was going through my mind. I thought that my family was some kind of kidnappers and kill people under the shed.

This discovery of the secrets of his family made him doubt his existence. Maybe I am really a monster?

Suddenly, he heard something like a whisper. 'Eat it. Drink it.'

"Who's there?"

'Eat it. Drink it. Eat it. Drink it.' It did not stop and he became more hungry to the point his stomach was hurting.

'I can't just eat a human being'. He thought.

The urge to eat and drink what was inside the cauldron grew stronger.

'Do you want power? Do you want strength?'

He couldn't take it anymore and he felt that he was dizzy. He may soon pass out if he would fight this urge to devour what was inside the cauldron. His mind was going blank and he felt that his blood was boiling and his bones where crackling like it was going through some kind of transformation.

'If you would not drink and eat. The evolution and awakening may fail and you could die.' The voice reminded.

"Who are you?"

'I am the progenitor of your blood. I am the one who stands above before all. I live and reside inside the blood of my descendants. I am here to guide you when you are going through evolution.'

"Do I really need to gulp this down?" I was cautious eating a human being. He still considered himself human. I didn't know that up until this point that I came from an ancient monster from the past.
