Monster Evolution

"These chains! I can't break free!" Mark was binded by the chains and his strength was insufficient to break free from it.

"Damn! I may end up dead soon! I have to think of a plan to get myself out of this situation!"

He didn't know what could he do at this point. He was beginning to feel weak and energy was running low. He had to make a plan this instant to escape from the hunters.

Mark didn't know at the same time the elementalist was also low in energy from the fight with Mark he can't keep up with his endurance hence he was preparing to deal the final blow to end all of this.

Binding Mark gave the hunters the opportunity they needed.

As the elementalist was charging the last bits of energy inside of him, he tried to gather also energy from the surroundings. Even thought it was hard for him, he was determined to kill the monster in front of him.

"All I need is seconds! This monster is reaching his limit. He doesn't have the strength like earlier. This should be over!" The elementalist roared.

The hunters heard him and they know they could not make the monster escape the bindings.

The snipers still bombarded him with bullets from afar. Mark was gradually losing his consciousness and he was withstanding all the pain he felt. He made himself not fall asleep. He was burning with intense willpower to survive. His inner monster was alarming with survival instincts. He already knew that if he couldn't think of a way then death would come knocking down on his door this moment.

"What can I do!?" He was in disarray. Not knowing the exact right thing to do was making him fear what could happen the next seconds as time was running out.

The hunters were excited that the battle was ending they could see the monster was weak in his state and was helpless.

Suddenly, the mysterious orb shook inside his body and it absorbed the little spirit energy in the surroundings.

It made him think of surprising one of the hunters and get close to kill the hunter. It was a good plan but a waste of energy. This sudden gain of energy was a miracle for him and he didn't know why he felt warm in his stomach all of a sudden. This was his chance, it was at this moment that he knew that he would wait for the exact moment to enact the right thing to do.

The hunters held firm with chains in their hands they pulled and they could see Mark's helplessness. Mark feigned that he could not move and the elementalist was done charging the fireball at this moment.

The fireball was not as powerful as it did before but could still Mark if he was not careful. The chaotic spirit energy carried the trace of incineration in it and it would burn him and turn him to ashes if he was hit directly.

Mark had not way of defending his body and it was also large so it was easier for the hunters to hit him. He did not want a large body but he had no choice as he would transform into this state.

The elementalist had no energy to launch the fireball from afar and he decided to hit mark point-blank. He walked slowly lifting the weightless energy in his palms. He was carefully walking towards mark as to not make any mistakes.

This seconds felt like hours to the hunters as they stared at the elementalist holding the bright and hot fireball in his hands.

Mark was waiting for the elementalist to get near him and use this chance to kill him as he was the only threat. The hunters weapons could hurt him but he can regenerate the flesh torn from the injuries they produced.

The best method for him was how to kill the elementalist.

"He is walking towards me and this is the perfect chance!" Mark's eyes gleamed and when the elementalist was more than a few meters away. Mark pounced and brandished his right claw attacking the elementalist.

The elementalist was surprised but he knew monsters would not go down that easily and he was prepared from the sudden attack Mark made.

He made the fireball clash with Mark's claws. Mark didn't expect that the elementalist was fast on his reactions and made the fireball contact with his right claw.

His right arm was in flames and with his weak energy protecting him his regeneration was slow and it could not keep up with burning of his right arm.

His right arm was charred from the fire it gave. The fire energy was travelling to his body. From his right arm it invaded going to his body making him feel the burning all over. He decided to slash and cut his right arm with his left claw as he could not withstand the pain he was suffering.

The exchange all happened in mere seconds and Mark didn't stop when he cut off his arm. He decided to bite the neck of the elementalist as he could see that he was also weak and he was low in energy. He knew he could not let the elementalist recover as he was the biggest threat.

Mark thought that if he could survive this, losing an arm was nothing compared to his life. He could always find ways to regrow his missing limb.

The elementalist's head was removed from his body and all the hunters that witnessed this scene was filled with horror.

Mark ate the headless body as he was hoping to restore some energy from the elementalist. His logic was right and he could regain energy from the body of the elementalist but he had to activate the formula to digest the energy and make it his own.

"My plan was a success!" Mark was ecstatic of his slight victory. He knew he was still in danger as there was still hunters surrounding him.

"These small fries could not pose much threat at the moment but they should be requesting backup from stronger hunters! I have to get out of here!"

He circulated the formula and he felt energy regaining inside his body. He was overjoyed that it worked and he could escape now.

The hunters gripped the chains as it was still binded all over his body but Mark knew that they didn't have much strength.

"We could not hold on for long!" The hunters were filled with fear and they knew death was waiting for them if they lose power.

They wrestled with the chains and their energy was draining at a fast rate.

"These guys could not hold on for another 30 seconds!" Mark saw the chance and he would not let it slip.

Even with difficulty moving towards the hunters he successfully made his way toward one of them in which he impaled the hunter with his claws. Fresh blood spewed all over making the person look like a fountain made of blood.

The hunters holding in the chains was shocked and paralyzed in fear as they would be the next target.

Mark tossed the impaled body from his claws towards his mouth. Chewing the dead body and it made sounds of bones cracking and breaking in his mouth.

A dead hunter would make his escape chances higher and he could benefit from eating them. It was hitting two birds with one stone.

The hunters immediately decided to give up holding the chains as they could no longer hold him down. It was suicide to not stop binding him with chains. These people were intelligent and they would preserve their lives as they could train and fight another day.

They could always improve themselves and prove in the future and erase the disgrace from this day.

Mark saw that they were fleeing in all directions and he knew he could not catch every one of them. He decided to head for the mountains and cool off the heat.

He would lay low for a while and make this chance to slip away and find a way to revert back to his human form.

He sprinted and jumped all over the buildings. He was moving super fast and the hunters did not have a way to stop Mark from leaving. They only knew what direction he was headed and it was towards the mountains.

They could see that as Mark was getting further away making him a tiny black dot they knew that soon they would losts him. Hunter binoculars could see from afar but it was not good in long range distances covering up to hundreds of kilometers.

The reinforcements and those that responded to the call made their way to the city. They were immediately informed of what happened and an elementalist was killed from the clash with the monster.

They discussed that the monster was nearing S Class Level or in S Class and it have shocking abilities that could absorb directly energy from the surrounding.

The higher class hunters made an order to track and kill the monster.

This made the hunters go on a Monster Hunt.
