Morbid Addiction

Ning Junyan pressed himself against Chen Yuncheng and lowered his head as he patiently unbuttoned Chen Yuncheng’s pyjamas one by one.

       Chen Yuncheng asked him, “Have you had enough sleep this afternoon? Are not you tired now?”

       Ning Junyan didn’t stop moving and just said, “I’m tired, but I need to feed myself first.”

       Chen Yuncheng couldn’t help but laugh, “I don’t know what’s going on in your head all day long.”

       Ning Junyan looked up at him, “Thinking about you quite a lot.”

       When he really took off Chen Yuncheng’s pyjamas, Ning Junyan hugged him again and did nothing else, closed his eyes, and said slowly, “You said you’d try anything with me.”

       Chen Yuncheng stroked his hair, “There must be a bottom line.”

       Ning Junyan said, “What’s your bottom line?”

       Chen Yuncheng thought for a while and said, “I can’t say it now. I can’t promise you all the weird things.”

       Ning Junyan said softly, “My bottom line is you. Nothing else matters.”

       Chen Yuncheng glanced at him and saw that his eyes were still closed, and the expression on his face probably didn’t change when he said this.

       After a while, Ning Junyan fell asleep. Chen Yuncheng gently moved his hand away and rolled out of bed to clean up his changed clothes and wet towels in the bathroom. He waited until everything was tidied up, then turned off the light and went back to bed, lying beside Ning Junyan to sleep.

       Ning Zhanghong stayed in the ICU for a few days and was transferred to the general ward when his condition stabilised.

       After Chen Yuncheng found out about it, he thought he should go and visit him.

       The time was now past four o’clock in the afternoon, Chen Yuncheng said, “I’m afraid you are still busy, so I didn’t call you.” After he said that, he turned to Ning Zhanghong and greeted, “Uncle Ning.”

       Ning Zhanghong nodded.

       Ning Junyan took the flowers and fruit basket from him and put them on the window sill of the ward. Chen Yuncheng walked to the bed and asked, “Is Uncle feeling better now?”

       Ning Zhanghong said, “It’s much better. Thank you, please have a seat.”

       “I know,” Ning Junyan said, “so didn’t I tell you to go?”

       Chen Yuncheng smiled.

       Guan Anlin was sitting outside right now, concentrating on playing games on his mobile phone without even raising his head.

       Chen Yuncheng walked over and kicked his leg, “Let’s go.”

       Guan Anlin only said, “Right away.” He turned around and continued his game.

       “Leaving?” Ning Junyan asked Chen Yuncheng.

       Chen Yuncheng said, “Why wouldn’t I leave, aren’t you on duty today?”

       Ning Junyan asked, “You just came to see my dad?”

       Chen Yuncheng answered him with a smile, “Yes.”

       Chen Yuncheng said, “I’ll come over tomorrow night.”

       Just when Guan Anlin finished a game, he raised his head and glanced at the two of them with an annoyed look on his face. He stuffed the phone back into his pants pocket, stood up and said to Chen Yuncheng, “Let’s go.”

       Chen Yuncheng nodded, “Let’s go.”

       As soon as he finished speaking, he heard the sound of high heels coming from the other end of the corridor. He subconsciously looked up, and saw Shu Rong walking towards the ward in a light blue suit today.

       There was a middle-aged man beside Shu Rong, holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand and turning his head to talk to Shu Rong. It was Yu Jie whom Chen Yuncheng had met at Shu Rong’s place when she accompanied Ning Junyan home for dinner during the New Year.

       Chen Yuncheng frowned slightly.

His eyes turned to Guan Anlin as if he didn’t know him. He maintained a smile on his face and went on and said something to Shu Rong.

       Yu Jie nodded and followed Shu Rong to enter the ward. He passed by Chen Yuncheng and Guan Anlin with flowers in his arms without looking up at them again.

       But at this time, Guan Anlin made an unexpected move. He punched Yu Jie in the face and cursed, “Old fvcking dog!”

       His punch was so heavy that Yu Jie’s face suddenly turned to the side, and the flower in his hand fell to the ground.

       Chen Yuncheng held Guan Anlin when he was about to punch him a second time and shouted, “Stop!”
