463 Back To Winning Ways

With the match against Lesica United slowly approaching Dave was given the green light to go back to start starting games but the doctor still recommended that he wore a guardian cap to protect his head and that wasn't a problem.

The only thing that injury left behind on his left eye was just a scar so there was nothing to worry about, he could already see properly with it when he scored against Dynamo FC anyway.

The match against Lesica United was quite a tough one, Unique FC dominated the match possession wise just as always but finding the back of the net against their opponents was proving to be difficult.

Perhaps Norman overestimated the potency of his tactics coming into this match.

Unique FC tried everything they could to overpower or outsmart their opponents but none of that had proved to be potent so far.

Mateo tried to weave in a little bit of individual brilliance whenever he could but he had not been able to pull anything off so far with forty minutes already gone.

Dave tried to set up his teammates whenever he got the chance but none of that worked either.

Unique FC were really putting the pressure on Lesica United despite being unable to get a goal but that didn't mean Lesica United had been quiet throughout all this time in the match.

They had gotten a couple of good chances, Okafor had gotten a couple of good scoring opportunities but most of them were blasted over the bar and the ones he managed to get on target were easy saves for Dave.

It took until the forty-fourth minute for Unique FC to get a goal but this kind of goal is what you would call lucky.

Mateo tried to set up Carlos from his side with a lobbed cross, and although Carlos wasn't able to get to the ball, the ball ended up hitting the crossbar, and before the goalkeeper could react to that it had already fallen into the goalpost.

It wasn't intentional but the winger was going to take it as he quickly raised both of his hands.

That was where Unique FC sealed the game because nothing happened in the game.

Well, the second half was a hell of a rollercoaster because of all the chances and the anticipation that Lesica United would equalize the game or Unique FC would score a second and seal the game but none of that happened until the final whistle.

It was a win for the Uniques but they could have done so much more, this was quite a poor performance from them.

"Unique FC have not looked lethal in their last two games, struggling to get a draw against Dynamo FC in their last game and struggling to grab a one-goal victory against Lesica tonight," Jim commented. "How long can they hold on?"

Jim had to eat his words in the next match because Norman's boys came in with the storm against Tereville United.

The match started out quite dull but once Unique FC pushed forward with a counterattack in the fifteenth minute, Mateo was able to get a goal with a neat strike from the left inside the box.

Just two minutes after that, the winger popped up on the score sheet once again thanks to a quick setup from Dave.

That was such a clean lob over the goalkeeper from the edge of the box.

Unique FC were dominating the game but they didn't get their third goal until the forty-fifth.

Mateo was once again involved in another goal but this time he wasn't the one putting it in.

He terrorized the right back to get into the box and set up the ball for Fredinho to tap it in straight into the box.

They ended the first half with a juicy scoreline of three goals to nothing and they didn't slow down in the second half.

Mateo was involved in another goal but sadly it wasn't his hat trick because he was starting to drop deep a little too much now.

He sent the ball flying toward Merino from thirty yards out and the winger made no mistake in smashing it straight into the goalpost with a neat header.

The fifth goal was the only one that had nothing to do with Mateo because he had to leave it for Fredinho who made no mistake in putting it away.

That was the last goal of the match and no matter how hard Tereville tried to at least pull one back they just weren't able to pull it off before the final whistle.

This was a massive win for Unique FC given how their last two matches turned out so they were feeling great and so were the hyped-up fans.

Their next match after this one was against Zilo FC and things didn't slow down there.

Zilo FC decided that they were going to be reckless from the start of the game and gave away two penalty kicks that Mateo made no mistake in putting away.

They were already two goals up before the twenty-fifth minute and then minutes later Mateo completed his hat trick with a beautiful solo goal.

The winger had to tear through the defense from the middle to put that ball in from the right and he had quite the smile on his face as he raced to the sidelines.

With just these three games, Unique FC were back to being the trend of the Bilbeth Premier League and they were loving it.

Supreme United were on a longer winning streak than Unique FC now but their victories were quite tempered compared to what Unique FC had been doing so far, Norman's boys had the most goal division in the league now with the most goals scored and the least goals conceded.

The first half against Spree City ended with a scoreline of three goals to nothing and that was pretty much the highlight of the game because the second half was less eventful although Roland was able to get that fourth goal for his team with a neat strike from twenty-five yards out.

That was the last goal of the game as Unique FC ran away with another goal-fest victory.

Zilo FC players were under pressure all this while and now they could finally catch their breath.

After that victory, the team were looking forward to extending their lead against Spree City although they knew that it was going to be a bit tough compared to their last three matches.

Well, the match started out pretty tough with Spree City getting in behind the spaces they weren't able to cover to create chances but Dave was coming in clutch with saves no one expected him to make.

It took until the fortieth minute for Ferran to put his team ahead with a nice header over the goalkeeper and the pass from that goal came from none other than Mateo.

The first half ended with that scoreline and just as the second half kicked off, they won a penalty kick which Mateo left for Roland and the left back made no mistake in putting it away.

Spree City kept on pushing forward against them to pull one back and equalize against them, but the team held on strong until the final whistle.

"Oh, what a game this has been, we finally saw Unique FC struggle a bit after three games but they still managed to come out on top with a two-goal victory." Jim articulated. "Now they'll have to take a break from league football to face off against Spree City once again, I wonder how that will turn out."
