My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 71 Footy Wears

Emma was busy working on her laptop in the room on the table by the side when Dave suddenly appeared at the door, she saw him but she pretended like she didn't and continued doing what she was doing.

Dave stood there and watched her for a while before slowly making his way to the bed.

He stood beside the bed and stared at her trying to get a reaction from her and when he couldn't get any reaction from her, he let out a sigh before slowly sitting down on the bed.

"What do you want?" She asked, finally giving in to his temptation.

"Nothing." He said, shaking his head.

"Really? Because you're acting like you want something." She said,

"It's just that I haven't seen you be so busy before even while cooking." He said.

"If you want to say something like that, you should be more specific," Emma said.

"Huh?"

"You haven't seen me be this busy in your house before but since I'm finally moving in, you're going to start seeing it, a lot." She said,

"A lot," Dave muttered. "You mean like two hours a day?"

"It depends." She said, turning her gaze back to her laptop. "I'm working Dave, you sitting there looking at me is distracting."

"Okay, I'll leave." He said slowly getting up from the bed.

"Good." She said with a smile.

Dave took about five steps toward the door before quickly turning back to her.

"Is your interview with Mateo the only thing you're writing?" He asked.

"No, it's not the only thing I'm writing." She said after letting out a sigh. "I also have to write a report about the important aspects of the match and send it to my boss before 8:00 PM."

"Okay," Dave said, moving closer to her.

<I thought you were leaving>

"Just to be sure, my saves were important aspects of the match right?" He said looking at her laptop's screen which had lots of words already written on the writing space.

"Well, that depends on if you're going to leave or not." She said,

"Okay, I'm leaving but first." He said before kissing her and then quickly making his way to the door. "El Classico is starting soon anyway."

Emma stared at the exit for a while with a smile on her face before letting out a sigh and returning her gaze to her laptop's screen and continuing from where she had stopped.

The goalkeeper made his way downstairs and looked at the clock to see that the time was 6:37 PM.

"That's still a lot of time before the match starts," Dave muttered before making his way to the couch on crashing on it.

<If you are as bored as you claim then I suggest you go to your gym and do some exercise>

'I've already done enough exercise for today Catherine, I just want something fun to do in the meantime.'

'The latest_epi_sodes are on_the Nov elB i n website.',

<You want something fun to do when one of the main sources of entertainment is hanging right in front of you>

'I said something fun to do, not watch.'

<Okay, go find it then, I can't help you>

Dave let out a deep sigh before turning his gaze to the television screen where a match from Bilbeth league two was currently streaming.

After watching it for a while without any hint of interest in his eyes, he pulled out his phone from his pocket.

He unlocked the phone and was about to tap one of the app icons when it suddenly began to vibrate.

"Who's calling me now?" He muttered as he waited for the caller's name to appear and it didn't take long before the name 'Clark' appeared there.

He didn't hesitate to pick up the call before placing the phone against his ear.

"Hey, Clark, what's up?"

"I'm good Dave, you?" Clark asked as his voice resounded through the phone's speaker.

"I'm okay," Dave said.

"I watched your match today, nice performance, you've managed to grab your second career assist in the same season."

"Thanks but it wouldn't have been possible without Mateo," Dave said.

"Yeah, the kid's slowly turning into a phenomenal," Clark said. "That last goal with the cotton wool in his mouth was ice cold."

"Yeah."

"I hope he's okay."

"Yeah, that was just a little wound in his mouth, he's okay," Dave said.

"Okay, that's good."

"So, did you just call to check on me or there's something else?" Dave asked.

"There's something else, something important," Clark said.

"What?"

"What do you think of sponsorship deals?" Clark asked.

"Is that even supposed to be a question, Clark? You know I've always wanted to have sponsors."

"Okay, what do you think of a sponsorship deal with footy wears?" Clark asked, being more specific this time.

"Footy wears?" Dave said with a confused expression on his face.

"Yeah, footy wears."

"I…. haven't heard of them."

"Well, they are a company that produces different kinds of footwear and clothing just like Adidas, only that they are smaller and have their base here in Bilbeth," Clark explained.

"Okay, footy wears, why are you telling me about them?" Dave asked.

'Visit (No ve (l)B i n) to read, pls!',

"Because they want a sponsorship deal with you," Clark said.

As soon as those words left Clark's mouth, Dave had gone mute for a while.

"You're not serious." He muttered into the phone.

"I'm dead serious, they contacted me yesterday to talk about it, check your email, they said they sent an email to you too," Clark said.

"A company wants a sponsorship deal with me," Dave muttered as he was still finding it hard to believe.

"I've already booked a flight to Unique City for tomorrow," Clark said.

"You're coming over?"

"Yeah, so that we can clearly go over the whole thing and you can make your decision," Clark said.

"Okay."

"Check that e-mail and see what it's saying, I'll call you to check on you before heading to the airport by noon tomorrow," Clark said.

"Okay," Dave said before he ended the call.

He sat there wondering what this footy wears company was going to be like and if they had sponsorship deals with any other players or any of the world's superstars in the game.

<With Nike and Adidas in existence I don't think they would have any of the superstars on their sponsorship list but that's just my opinion you can get a better answer if you search it on Google>

"Yeah." He muttered before picking up his phone again. "Footy wears." He muttered as he typed the words in the search bar."

After typing the words, he clicked the search button, and the information he needed popped up.

"Wow, they've been around since 2005." He said as he read the information displayed on his phone's screen.

While he was reading, he began to hear footsteps coming down the staircase and slowly turned his gaze there to see Emma.

"Hey," Dave said.

"Hey." She said,

"Are you done?" He asked.

"Yeah." She said with a nod.

"Cool," Dave said with a smile on his face. "Now we can spend some time together."

"Yeah, before that." She said, raising a necklace with a blue heart-shaped crystal. "Is this yours?"

'I forgot to give that to her.'

"Is this yours?" She asked again.

"Ummm…..not exactly." He said with an awkward expression on his face.
