My Marriage To A Mute Alpha

Volume 1 Chapter 10 - ch 10

“I’m fine. Thank you for asking,” said Xiang while looking down. He didn’t dare to look into his eyes. Suho lifted his hands and placed them gently under Xiang’s chin and lifted his head. Xiang didn’t know how to respond and stood still.

Suho started writing on his tab again. He then showed it to Xiang, which said, “Shall we eat?”

Xiang without saying a word nodded innocently.

The waiter then came to their table to take their order.

“What would you guys like to order?”

“Um…Suho, what would you like to eat?” asked Xiang nervously. He was never the type to eat outside. He had never dined with anyone except for his family and Cheng Mu.

Suho started writing and showed it to Xiang, which said, “The same one your ordering. I’m not a picky eater.”

“Is that alright? I have a sweet tooth.”

Suho nodded gently.

Xiang then turned to the waiter and said, “Two lattes and two strawberry shortcakes.” He then turned towards Suho and asked, “Is it fine?”

He nodded.

“That’s what we’ll have. Thank you.”

Suho started writing something on his tab and showed it to him which said “Why don’t you fight back? You seem so innocent.”

Xiang after reading it, immediately said, “Not fighting back doesn’t mean I’m innocent.” After realizing what he had just said, he replied, “Sorry. I didn’t mean to.”

Suho smirked and showed what he had written.

Xiang’s mind blacked out. Tears were fighting to get out of his eyes. His whole body started to shiver. He had no idea how to react. He then looked up at Suho, while wiping his tears off. He chucked and asked, “You’re kidding, right?”

Suho then showed his tab which said, ” I don’t know if I must be sorry or not. But I just wanted to let you know before you have any hard feelings for me.”

He replied, “I remember that I got something to do. I’ll get going. I’ll meet you tomorrow just as you said.”

Xiang thought Suho would stop him so that it would assure him that he at least has some feelings for him. But the reality didn’t match up to his expectation.

“And also, don’t tell my parents about the incident this evening. I’ll take care of it,” said Xiang. Xiang, having thought he doesn’t have anything more to do at that place, walked out the door.

Xiang was walking on the sidewalk while still thinking about what had happened. He kept thinking about what Suho had written- “I don’t know what my parents had told you. I wasn’t interested in this wedding, to begin with, and I am still not. I kept on refusing them. I even tried to talk to your parents. But my parents and other circ.u.mstances didn’t let me have the chance. I have my reasons. First of all, I’m mute. I don’t want my partner to feel bad. But more importantly, asking me to marry someone that I don’t even love… It just doesn’t seem right to me. I thought you would refuse me, but you didn’t. I didn’t have any choice but to accept you. I don’t think I can accept you as my life partner. You deserve someone better. But since this is all finalized, there’s no going back. But still, I cant view you romantically I hope you understand. If you want to talk more about this, you can meet me here tomorrow at 9’o clock.”

Suddenly something disrupted his thought. Somebody was calling him. It was none other than his mom. He hesitated to pick it up. But he couldn’t.

“Xi! How did it go? Are you guys still in the middle of talking?”

“No mom. We just got finished.” *(His mind voice) “It seems mom doesn’t know about the incident in the morning.”*

“Is that so! How did it go Xi?” asked his mom. It hurt him so badly that he couldn’t stop his tears.

Controlling his tears with all is might, he said, “It went well mom. I really like him.”
