Chapter 4: The Protagonist (Part 2)

After saying that, Anna turned into stream of light and became a pattern engraved on the back of Ian’s hand.

Looking at the wing pattern on the back of his hand, Ian started making plans for the future.

‘I don’t know what I’ll get as heirloom… it’s an unpredictable thing.’

The most important thing for him at the moment was the quest and the main story. If followed the main story well, there would be no big problems in earning soul power.

However, the was another kind of problem.

‘I couldn’t find the main character.’

Perhaps it was Ian who had substituted the main character, so the main character who should have appeared and had all kinds of contacts with the heroines was nowhere to be seen.

In fact, there would be no major problems even without the main character. That was because this particular game was not a game with a main character correction. If you don’t play smart, even the main character wouldn’t be able to clear it and would be blocked by the wall.

However, considering that all events tend to revolve around the main character, Ian had to find him.

‘Let’s see, how should I find the main character…’

To do that, he had to stay in contact with Stella.

In other words, it meant staying with Stella at all times.

“Ian!”

As soon as class was over, Ian turn his head to the voice of someone calling him.

Syrah looked at his and smiled.

“Do you need something?”

“I heard the rumor, you really summoned a 3-star summoned being? Can’t you show it to me?”

In the morning, Ian had walked around with that summon, but he shook his head as he wanted to stay far away from this troublesome person.

Fortunately, there was a legitimate reason to decline her request.

“No.”

“Why?”

“It’s forbidden to summon a summoned being on campus.”

“Ah… then, should we leave the academy? Let’s go to the training ground!”

“I’m busy.”

“Why again?”

“I have an appointment.”

“Is it with a girl?”

In an instant, Syrah’s eyes turned cold.

Ian didn’t understand why she cared so much about whether it was a girl or not, but he nodded his head.

“Is it a girl.”

“Who? As far as I know, not a single woman you know…”

“It’s Stella Eritz.”

At that, Syrah exclaimed. and stepped back. She came from a marquise family, and Stella was the daughter of a duke. There was a distinct difference in status.

Unlike Ian, who would be a nobody the moment he graduated from the academy, she had to be careful about her conducts here.

“Why do you have an appointment with the lady of the Eritz family?”

“She owes me a hairloom.”

“I heard the rumors. Will she really give it to you?”

“If she doesn’t give it to me, I’ll just have to take it.”

Of course, that wasn’t his real purpose. His purpose was to participate in the storyline, and the main story would begin with the main character rescuing Stella who was under attack.

The problem was that Ian was not the main character, and he didn’t even know where the story would begin.

So he though of a simple solution. All he had to do was to follow Stella. It was her fate that she would meet the protagonist.

“It’s good that you know, so please leave. Because it’s annoying.”

“Don’t you have anything nice to say?”

Syrah grumbled, but went back to her place, packed her things, and left the classroom.

After seeing her go out first, Ian went back to his room, threw the book and bag on the table, and headed to Stella’s place.

Stella, who was returning to her room after class, looked at him and frowned.

“What?”

“I have something to tell you, can you spare some time?”

“I have nothing to hear from you.”

“Don’t you have a debt?”

“I’ve sent a letter… I don’t know when I’ll get a reply, but I’ll keep my promise.”

Stella said that and tried to walk past Ian.

But he couldn’t let her go like that, she was essential in advancing the story.

“Wait? Then I’ll just have to wait without a promise?”

“I’m sorry about that, but…“

“If I was the one who had lost, would you have delayed the expulsion?”

At that, Stella shut her mouth. Yes, she had nothing to say. If Ian hadn’t been able to summon a 3-star summon, no matter what, whatever the circumstances, he would have been expelled on the same day.

“What do you want?”

Stella looked up at Ian fiercely and asked.

Ian said with a smirk, “Buy me a cup of tea.”

“What?”

***

Cafeteria near the Academy.

Stella brought the drink she had ordered with a rotten expression on her face.

Ian looked at her and smiled mischievously.

“What’s the matter?”

“I’m having tea with a guy like you, so how should I feel?”

“Now, now… you didn’t refuse.”

“I didn’t want to be in debt, so I granted your request. From now on, I don’t intend to listen to such a request.”

Saying so, she drank the coffee she ordered. Ian also drank his drink and looked at her.

Red hair and orange eyes. She was quite cute, thinking that she could pay off all her debts with just one drink.

Ian didn’t really call her to admire her looks, so he spent time enjoying the drinks he had ordered with Stella’s money.

After a while, Stella yelled at him as if she was frustrated.

“What, why did you just call me and say nothing? Are you even a man?”

“Um, I’m sorry. The reason I called you here…”

“Stop, where are you going!?”

Then, a scream was heard from afar. Ian was waiting for this, and he quickly ran out, then summoned Anna.

With her wings blooming in white, Anna immediately grasped the situation and sped forward.

“I will be going first, Master!”

Shaang!

Anna disappeared from sight with the sound of bursting air.

Some time later, after running for a long time, Ian finally arrived at the source of the scream.

Anna, who had arrived first, was protecting a cadet behind her and was fighting the demons. However, when Ian checked the cadets’s face, he stiffened.

‘No, why are you a girl?’

It was the protagonist.

Also he was now a girl!
