My Wife Is The Demon King

In a lavishly decorated throne, a king is seated while listening to his subordinate reports.

"Your highness, the Sarton forest has been contaminated up to 10% and it is still increasing. We need to stop this or the Sarton forest will become a forbidden ground that is inhabitable by anyone. Our investigation has found out that the harmful substance that is causing all of this is being replenished every morning. There's a high chance that this is a plot from our neighbouring kingdom with a low chance of it being devised by the demon. The main cause is some kind of demon poison but our enemies can easily obtain it too if they really want it. However, for now I suggest we take action to stop the contamination of the Sarton forest."

The king listened to the report with full attention and determined to take action.

"Alright, send the royal court magician to Sarton forest and try to raise a barrier and contain the area of contamination to prevent it to spread further. Try to ask the holy church to send some priest and acolytes to see if they can purify the demon poison. Also, send number three to investigate who's causing all of this mess."

"Yes your highness. Your wish is my command."

The subordinate feels relieved that the king is taking this seriously. It also shows how much the king care about his people. After all, if the Sarton forest become a forbidden ground that b.a.r.e entry, almost 30% of the kingdom population will lose their job. Not to mention the king is sending number three to investigate the culprit.

The king can only hope that it was just a normal plot by neighbouring kingdom and not a threat by the demons.

Holding the holy scripture ars lectulo on my hand, I feel that the book gives me a surge of power. My steps are lighter and my mood is enhanced to the max. I even have a hard time maintaining my Excalibur on its sheath due to it feeling my excitement.

I headed home without any distraction and found my lovely wife waiting for me at the dining table. Eating dinner together every day, what a bliss for me. However, some of the perfect ambience was disturbed. My son is looking at me again. This time it wasn't his usual cold gaze but it was as if he is trying to see through my clothes.

Don't tell me, has he realized that I have the holy scripture? No, what does a four days old baby like him know.

Coughing a bit to clear my throat, I expressed my thoughts to my wife.

"Roselia, I have something important to ask you."

"Eh, what is it my dear?"

"Have you start working again today?"

"En, why is it? I already asked for your permission in the morning right? Are you upset with it?"

"Erm, no. It's not that. I just want to ask, are you feeling tired?"

At first my wife is confused with my question but when I asked about her condition and whether she is feeling tired, she feel touched.

"Don't worry. If it's too much I will take some time off. After all my job isn't that taxing for me. I'm still full of energy."

After getting her confirmation about her current condition, I asked my main point.

"So, can you accompany me to practice today? I finally got my hand on a technique that I want to learn."

"Oh, is that so? I will gladly help you to practice."

Seeing her willingness to help me, my Excalibur almost burst out right there. It was like some old man in a white van asking a little girl, "hi there, do you want to lick my lollipop?" and the little girl answered yes.

Innocently, my wife asked me. "What technique is it? After all, it is rare for you to be eager to practice something."

"*Cough*uhm it's just a simple technique but I can't do it alone. After all it required two people in minimum."

"Alright, let me put Kazuki to bed first then we can do our practice."

After the dinner, I wash the dishes and clean up the table. After all, most of the chores except for cooking is done by me. I am waiting for my wife with my Excalibur ready but after a long time, she is not coming out from my son's room.

What is happening? What took her so long?

"Roselia, are you okay?"

After waiting for a while, she still isn't replying to me. I am starting to feel anxious as I headed to my son's room.

Inside the room, I saw my son is sleeping on his bed with my wife.

Ah, I guess my wife is tired even though she says no. I also feel warmth inside my heart, knowing that my wife loved me so much for her to agree to help in my practice despite her fatigue. Giving a kiss on my son forehead, I lift my wife up from my son's bed and put her in our bed. After all, my son's bed is small while mine is extra-large and soft for various reasons. I put a blanket over my wife and kiss her lightly as a goodnight charm.

I lowered my head and consoled my Excalibur: "I'm sorry pal, it seems that you didn't have the chance to do some action tonight."

I quickly wash up, change my clothes and hugged my wife to sleep.

"Kazuki, it's time for you to sleep."

Roselia finished b.r.e.a.s.t feeding Kazuki and putting him on the bed. Looking at her sleeping son on the bed, she feels content. She couldn't ask more from her current life. A loving husband and an adorable son. There's nothing better than passing every day with them for her. She lost herself looking at her son and realized that she promised her husband to help him with his practice. Just when he is about to leave, without her realizing Kazuki opened his eyes for a moment before closing it again.

Roselia who is about to leave suddenly feel her body is hard to move and her eyes is really heavy.

"Why am I feeling tired and sleepy all of the sudden? Is it because of my work today?"

Unknowingly to her, she fallen asleep in no time. The corner of Kazuki lips is slightly raised as the night grows deep.

"Sorry old man, you can forget about practicing that corrupted book of yours."
