New Emperor Of Ghouls

"Ugh," a groan sounded out from a figure regaining their consciousness.

The Sacred Ghoul Emperor felt like he had been trampled by thousands of horses. Slowly, he lifted himself off the ground into a seated position. Pain tore at his entire body from moving.

His body was doing something and the pain was receding, but the snail-like speed of the pain being relieved made him realise the amount of damage his body had taken from the shock waves of the pedestal.

Yan Zhong Yi waited for a minute before he tried to stand up. He used his kagune as stands and push himself off the ground. Stumbling forward a little, he stabilised himself managing to stand straight.

"That went well, didn't I." Zhong Yi chuckled to himself, but the moving of the c.h.e.s.t region brought a piercing pain.

"Okay, okay. Bad idea."

He took a step forward to test the waters hoping for no more pain, and he was shocked when the pain receptors in his body didn't send any signal to his brain or spinal cord. Seeing as he was feeling no more pain, he took another step and another before losing the unsteadiness in his strides.

Even though he had been through worse pains, he didn't like pain overall. However, he realised early one that it came hand in hand with being a cultivator and a strong one.

He had a sneaking suspicion about what was happening and it did seem far-fetched once he thought about it once more, but it was something.

Footsteps echoed out from the Spire of Dominion's tunnel entrance forcing him out of his thoughts. He could tell they were rushing through the tunnels in search of something and with most monsters killed and no players travelling this far, it could be his people.

Plus, Zhong Yi could sense the unique scents of Ghouls coming from those people in the tunnels proving his point further.

"Your majesty, your majesty." General Cheng's worried voice echoed out of the passage into the larger area. His voice travelled along with other worried voices from the soldiers accompanying him.

"Guess it's time to head back home."

Zhong Yi met up with Squad 2 under General Cheng, and they travelled back to the city at a slow pace. He saw no need to test to see if his body was still in bad conditions by running, so they walked instead.

By the time he reached the city, everyone had stopped what they were doing and stood waiting for him at the entrance to the city.

It was a heart-warming sight to be thanked by all his people, it gave him purpose and strengthened his already firm determination. If the popular support wasn't anything above 90, then he would shave his head bald because he knew for sure, it was well over 90.

To save time, he had the barrels of blood already collected placed on the battlefield with their lids of waiting to be collected.

If he had done this before he left to go to the Spire of Dominion, with the 1 million beasts here. In total, he would have made about 5 million level 1 blood pills because of the spirit energy still in the blood wouldn't have lost its potency.

After collecting all the blood, he called for Minister Cheng and both generals to discuss the direction of the Sacred Ghoul Empire with a cute little girl perched on her father's l.a.p.
