New Emperor Of Ghouls

Chapter 58 - 58: Temporary Alliance

During the meeting, Prince Alucard and the Sacred Ghoul Emperor had negotiated on various things.

Zhong Yi explained to the Prince that for reasons he wasn't willing to share, travel to his empire was impossible unless they weren't "human" and teleporting directly to the prince's capital city could cause an upset amongst the higher-ups.

A town near the border of the region would have a teleportation portal set up and the Ghouls would be able to enter from their and only there, but could leave through any other portal.

Prince Alucard did ask for the captured Goblins to be released and Zhong Yi agreed. He didn't want them because he had to feed them, have soldiers watch them when they could training and more paperwork.

Another thing discussed during the meeting was allying. While the prince was well-loved, he still had to battle for the right to become clan leader amongst three siblings, and there were still 6 other goblin clans to worry about.

So a military alliance with an unknown element of unknown strength willing to aid Alucard towards his ascension was beneficial towards him.

The Sacred Ghoul Emperor came up with the 2-year pact. During that time, both sides would be allies with each other including Military aid. This meant Zhong Yi would send soldiers to help them if they need it and vice versa.

Alucard was hesitant towards it, but one look at the soldiers belonging to the Sacred Ghoul Empire sealed the deal, much to the upset of the listening goblins.

Because the goblins wouldn't be allowed to enter the Sacred Ghoul Empire, Zhong Yi had to be generous towards some of the things Prince Alucard asked and answered as much as he could with as little information given as possible.

At the end of the meeting, the Prince left with a satisfied smile on his face believing he had won and a written agreement everything agreed on by both sides.

"Your majesty, Forgive me for questioning your decision but, I do not understand why we are doing all this when we are going to attack them in the future." Whispered Wu Lin as they were escorted outside of the palace.

"It is to give us time." Replied Zhong Yi. " We are surrounded on all sides by goblins and we attacked them as well. So to avoid us being seen as invaders to discourage any attacks from them, contacting them and negotiating with them was a must. And it would force the Prince to speed up whatever he is planning for him to get the most out of this plan."

General Wu hummed in understanding.

To the north and west of the Sacred Ghoul Empire, was Prince Alucard's territory and further north and east is the entire Greenhead clan's section until they reach the limits of the nightmare forest.

South connected to the Moon Sword Clan, who were the weakest amongst them, and east connected to the Crooked Jaw clan.

However, the goblins determined strength based on the number of regions each clan hold. Which meant the moon sword clan could also be the strongest, but Zhong Yi wouldn't know because goblins stick to their respective clans meaning information doesn't travel as easily.

Even Goblin merchants are not brave enough to travel accross the border into another clans lands, in fear of being accused of spying.

Zhong Yi d.e.s.i.r.ed to capitalize on the fact Goblins were very strict with their borders. He would take specialities belonging to the other clans and sell them to the other clans becoming and at the same time collect all the information he would need to conquer each.

Thinking about it made The Sacred Ghoul Emperor excited for the coming future.

Zhong Yi was brought out of his world-domination plans by the goblin escorting them throughout the goblin city.

Prince, for some odd reason, was proud of this place and wanted to show it off, so here they were being escorted by a very... passionate goblin called bubbles.

"...and here is the slave market."

The mention of slave caught his attention.

Slavery was a huge part of the goblin economy.

They sold anyone they could get their hands on; Humans, Orcs, kobolds, even other Goblins. The goblins they sold were captured Goblins from clan wars and the occasional battle between heirs from disagreements.

It didn't surprise Zhong Yi that 1/10 of the city was dedicated to the selling and buying of other sentient beings.

Bubbles still remained his bubbly self as they walked through the slave market. "We pride ourselves in being the single largest slave seller within the entire goblin nation. Prince Alucard tried to get rid of it but the slave merchants almost rebelled had he not stopped that all people should be treated equally nonsense."

Zhong Yi and Wu Lin exchanged knowing glances as their image of the Prince was raised slightly.

"We did, at our Prince's decree, deter the merchants from selling our own people."

"And how did you stop goblin merchants from doing that?" Asked General Wu.

"There is one thing goblin merchants fear more than losing out on making more money."

"Death?" Interrupted the emperor.

"Exactly! They wouldn't be able to make money without their greedy head on their shoulders."

The Ghouls shared a laugh, but the atmosphere turned heavy from a scream.

"Stop! Please No!" A panicked cry came from a skinny little boy being held down to the ground.

A frail human woman was being held down by two goblins and a third held onto a whip ready to strike the woman's back.

"You filthy green bastard!" Shouted the woman as her Flem hit the goblin slaver's luxurious clothing.

"Beat her Until she is ready to serve me, properly" Angrily shouted the goblin.

At his command, the whip rained down onto the woman back extracting pained grunts from her.

Stop, please!" His frantic shouts and overlapped his sister's pained screams.

"I told you, boy," said the Goblin. "Your sister would be beaten into submission like the pig she is if she refuses to serve me."

"I'm sorry mum, I couldn't protect her." Whispered the little boy as tears gushed down his face like a river.

"STOP!!" A familiar shout came from the side of Zhong Yi before a big figure flashed past Zhong Yi and Wu Lin.
