New Emperor Of Ghouls

Chapter 7 - 7: Unexpected Surprise

Yan Zhong Yi was pissed.

The one thing he didn't want to see.

The one thing he didn't want close to his territory, let alone inside it.

But he knew better than to go around slaughtering humans left and right. He had a bad feeling that by doing that to these specific ones, more would come.

So he had to address the insubordination that could sprout into more problems.

"Cheng Jian Jun, if I didn't ask you, would you have told me this?"

The voice brought Cheng Jian Jun out of his thoughts and absolutely scared him. His majesty's voice was so calm and that scared him.

"Y-Yes your m-majesty," nervously replied general Cheng.

"Leave them be, I will question them personally." Ordered Zhong Yi with a bloodthirsty smirk. "We'll get information about this world from somewhere else, I don't trust those barbarians."

"Yes your majesty. I will get that done before we set out to the other goblin villages," replied the General.

He had just walked out of the Mina village hall but the sigh of relief, he was about to release got stuck in his throat.

"Cheng Jian Jun, when we finish the operation, you and I are gonna have a long chat" Yan Zhong Yi purposely stressed each word.

'I need to calm down, the past is the past. I must not make the same mistakes my father made. I can not be too lenient but cannot be too ruthless.' Taking a moment to calm down, Zhong Yi left the village hall.

Unknown to him, Zhong Yi was still radiating large amounts of killing intent. From killing billions of human soldiers plus the other he killed during his lifetime. The small killing intent to him was still enough to make the ghouls tremble but that made them respect him even more.

"Bring me to those humans!" Commanded Zhong Yi.

"Follow me, your majesty." A ghoul appeared out of nowhere. This ghoul was a ghost Ukaku. It was decided that he would always have a few ghosts for protection. They were practically assassins and scouts in one.

Following the Ghost, Yan zhong Yi was finally able to take in the view of the village under the moonlight.

Tiki torches were placed all around the village, lighting up the areas the moonlight couldn't reach. Some of the soldiers were patrolling around, while the rest of them were cultivating.

The silence was welcomed.

They reached a windowless wooden building with this ungodly stench emanating from there.

The ghost escorting Zhong Yi scrunched up his face in disgust. "Your majesty, you shouldn't go inside it would…"

Before he could finish his sentence, Zhong Yi stopped him. "I have been in situations, worse than this," and stepped inside the room.

But the concern warned his heart.

The inside was lit up by a torch hanging from the wall next to the door. There was only one torch leaving corners of the room shrouded in darkness.

The women were all huddled together quivering as if they were freezing. They might have been from their lack of clothing but Zhang Yi didn't care about their well being.

When Zhang Yi came in, the huddled together women Unanimously looked towards the sound of footsepte. Their tired eye's lit up with hope seeing someone who must be human coming to save them.

Zhang Yi saw this and chucked to himself, 'if only they knew'

"I will let you live, as long as you provide me with the information that I'm looking for."

The women were obviously confused but were willing to tell him anything as long as they could escape this nightmare so they nodded.

"What continent are we on? Where is this village located? And how many continents are there?"

One of the women who appeared to be the leader from the small group of 6 answered. She had red- hair tied up into a bun and looked untouched compared to the other females.

" There are five continents. South, north, east, west and central. We are on the north continent which is the second largest continent. Currently, we are in the nightmare forest ." The woman paused in her narration to catch her breath.

"I don't know where this is, no one does. The nightmare forest is full of powerful beasts that make it hard for us to map it out plus we just got here,"

"Then how did you get here?" Questioned Yan Zhong Yi.

"I was apart of an expedition led by the Achaemenid legatee, who wanted the territory for his empire. He comes from the Meneed family and they are the most powerful in the north, so while he cannot pay us right now, he promised that his family would pay us. But as soon as we entered we were attacked continuously by magic beasts and monsters." The red hair shuddered when she recounted her tale, as if she were witnessing something terrifying.

A black-haired woman who was next to her, held the red-hair's hand trying to give her comfort. The red-hair patted the girls hair as thanks before continuing.

"Even though we are players and have another life, no one wants to die because they would lose everything and have to start all over. So the original 1 million dropped to 10,000. Then we..."

"Stop!" Interrupted Zhong Yi. "What is a legatee and what is a player?"

"A-Aren't you b-both of t-t-those," asked the red-haired girl, who was now beginning to fear for her life.

"Answer my questions and I'll let you go."

Zhong Yi was getting impatient and the girls could clearly hear it in his voice.

"p-p-players are people who had b-been smart enough to get a crystal that fell from t-the sky. Those crystals had t-taken us here. Legatees are people who have inherited a legacy through their bloodlines. Like the Li family, they are descendants of the Achaemenid empire so they carry it's bloodline."

'Interesting , so I am a legatee because of the legacy trial. However, it would be stupid of me to check whether I can live after dying.'

"What is the strength of the Achaemenid legatee?" asked Zhong Yi again. He was getting more and more curious about these otherworlders.

Instead of the croaky voice from before, he heard a brittle voice from the corner of the room. "Daddy?"

The voice had visibly shocked the other women inside the building, it was as if they had never heard the voice before.

Turning towards the voice, Zhong Yi saw a child.

The child was about 5 or 6 and was so skinny that she looked like she hadn't eaten in weeks. Her hair looked unkempt yet it made her look adorable. The tears in her eyes made her red pupils glisten,

However the one thing stood out among all of them was the uncanny resemblance she had to his appearance.

"Daddy, is that you?"
