NPC into Player: Let's Wreck This Game

Chapter 236: Jeffrey's Doubts

"Hannipal," suddenly Gerard shouted, "go and kill that bastard."

Bloom glanced at the player Gerard pointed at, and he wasn't much surprised to see Jeffrey. "Leave it to me," Bloom shouted back while moving towards the direction of Jeffrey.

Jeffrey was like a shadow, appearing at one spot for a second before vanishing the next. His hits caused critical damage, and not a single player managed to sustain more than five hits from him before dying.

"Finally you came," Jeffrey sighed as if he was waiting for him.

"Don't tell me you did this for me," Bloom sneered before taking out two swords at this time as he added, "let's fake a good fight."

"Buying time?" Jeffrey disappeared to appear the next moment behind Bloom, but the latter was already anticipating this and moved one sword to block the attack using his ground breaker skill.

"Reinforcements are on the way," Bloom said before noticing the strange look over Jeffrey's face, "don't stop or else… you know, hehehe."

"Damn," Jeffrey just took a simple hit from Bloom's other sword before feeling pain all over his body. He vanished but he had lost over two thirds of his Hp just from this mere strike.

Bloom had already ditched his gloves before coming here, replacing them with another normal pair of green grade. His attacks wouldn't send players flying like before.

He missed this feeling of OP, but he didn't want to expose himself especially to someone knowing him very well.

"Single hit and all this damage… What the hell are you at?" Jeffrey appeared once more and this time Bloom intentionally slowed his sword to make him evade it at hair breadth. "Twenty-eight," he said while Jeffrey went into shadows again.

"You remind me of someone," he suddenly said.

"And you too," Bloom decided to play this game with him as well.

"I'm serious!"

"Me too."

"C'mon, you are fighting as brutal and domineering as that dead man," Jeffrey said in extreme doubt, "even that defending skill… I never saw anyone using it but him!"

Bloom knew he wasn't yet prepared to play alongside Nara and Jeffrey precisely for that reason. They had too much in-depth knowledge about him and his pattern of fighting.

"I just got a skill to defend myself with," he tried to cover up over this, "what's wrong with that?"

"It's just…"

"Rumble!"

'Finally!'

Just as he was getting interrogated and cornered with Jeffrey, a loud rumble occurred by the sudden appearance of Antoan and his team.

They summoned their pets and clashed at once towards the main army of Gerard. From the first moment they used their strongest skills and let their pets loose.

"Sorry but I have to join them," Bloom disengaged from this fake play with Jeffrey, who was now standing surprised by such a strong sneak attack coming from Antoan and his team.

"You already knew about this quest," he muttered and Bloom perfectly heard him but didn't comment on his remark.

"Just stay out of the village in the next hours," he warned before meddling in the disturbed swarm of players who were still shocked by this sudden shift in events.

Jeffrey stood there for a moment before hurrying to open his friend list and started relaying what happened to his lady.

As for Bloom, everyone just let him through. For them he was their ally; their strongest ally. They glanced at him with much hope to bring on a miracle.

"Hurry Hannibal," Gerard shouted from the front while trying to stop the unstoppable momentum of Atnoan's monsters. "We need to stop them here, everyone on me!"

"You are really a courageous dude," Bloom suddenly sneered when he reached the side of Gerard. The latter turned to glance weirdly towards him before seeing four swords all of sudden flying on the side of Bloom. "It's unfortunate you chose the wrong master… sword tornado!"

The next instan the four swords flew higher in the air, each pointed to a certain direction of the four main ones with Bloom being in the centre. This all happened in one second, and Gerard's face told Bloom he already discovered what was going on.

"Too late," yet he sneered before the four swords descended upon Gerard and his team as they rotated fast and massively, cleaving and hacking every single player and monster's body.

In less than a few seconds, Gerard and his elite team were all killed simply like that!

From far this attack didn't escape the eyes of Nara, Peri, and Jeffrey who were extremely shocked to see the gap Bloom's swords left behind.

'Still thinking it's him?' Nara sent while sighing.

'He is strong like him!' yet Jeffrey was still sticking to his own suspicion.

'No,' Peri sent in the combined chat room of the three, 'he is far scarier than him.'

'I agree,' Nara said before watching Bloom hitting more players around. Bloom selected those he knew were the main pillars of Gerard's faction.

He didn't want to kill a snake head to have others rising up instead. He planned to uproot this entire powerhouse and leave none behind.

"I'll leave things here for you," he turned to glance at the far distant Nara as he softly whispered to her. He didn't know if she could hear him, and he didn't care.

He took out a ticket to return to the village while shouting, "let's go boys, it's time to have a grand feast."

Nara noticed his move and felt his distant whispers like they were talking directly to her heart. Just as she was stunned for a second there, she watched him take out a ticket and then vanished the next instant from her sight.

'What the hell is going on?' she hurriedly sent Jeffrey and Peri while noticing that all the other players who sneakily attacked Gerard's army started to follow through.

'Ah I totally forgot,' Jeffrey blamed himself for his negligence, 'he told me to stay out of the village for the next couple of hours.'

'He told you that and you forgot to tell?' Peri sent while feeling no less surprise than Nara from Jeffrey's weird behavior.

'I… thought it was nothing to mention,' he tried to apologize, 'but they all… vanished?'

'They went to the village,' Nara turned her head towards the direction of the village, 'he planned something for sure.'

'Damn! He gives me the vibe of that Bloom,' Peri couldn't help but send to them, 'unpredictable and quite scary.'

'See? I told you,' Jeffrey said.

'Shut up,' Nara was still mad at his negligence of that info, 'I'll leave you here to take charge of things.'

'Don't say… you are going after him?' Peri was sent while feeling shocked by Nara's decision. She turned to glance at Nara to see her taking out a ticket and started to use it.

'At least he had some conscience and left his pets behind to help,' she sent before adding, 'I'll go and watch from far… you just keep yourselves busy here.'

'But…' Jeffrey was hesitant, 'can I come with you?'

'Of course not,' she vanished while sending the rest from inside the village, 'I can hide well while being alone, but anymore and he'll notice us. Besides that fight is still a hard one to win.'

'Not really,' Jeffrey sent before adding, 'he already took out the main players in Gerard's army. Whoever left are only mercenaries and none of them can pose a threat to us.'

'We have equal levels, more numbers and they are in disarray,' Peri analyzed, 'let Jeffrey come with you… y'know, for safekeeping.'

'Hahaha,' she sent in the chat as she was laughing already inside a side street near the central plaza, 'you are afraid I might fall for him or what? C'mon, I'm not that playful widow. I won't fall for anyone again!'

She declared in strong words and clear intention, but the other two only inwardly sighed and said nothing.

"She will fall for him, wanna bet?" Jeffrey said to Peri the moment he reached her place in this messy battle.

"Why betting over a losing one?" she bitterly chuckled, "he is really and strangely similar to Bloom."

"He could be him," Jeffrey said and when he saw the stern and serious look over her face he hurriedly added, "you know the CEO and others investigated Bloom's ID in the game… it's still functioning."

"It's not functioning," she corrected him in a serious tone, "they only can't delete it."

"For me they both are the same."

"Don't spread false rumors or give false hope," she showed a side of herself only few, including him, were aware it was there. Even Nara didn't know about this side at all.

And deep down his soul, Jeffrey felt a cold shiver there. "A- Alright… I'll keep my mouth shut."

"And your useless thoughts only to yourself from now on," she glared in a threatening way towards him and he only nodded like an obedient kid.

"Good," she shifted back to the king and easy going girl she used to be, "let's get this done fast and go to see what that Hannipal is scheming back there."
