NPC into Player: Let's Wreck This Game

Chapter 71: Upgrading His Gears

"Wow, it really got massive improvement!" he cheered for these changes, as he expected less stat addition to the sword. In addition to that, the new death drop convert skill really attracted his attention, as he would be able to use it as his killing move against hard to deal with bosses.

"Let's see if I can push it much further," he muttered as he selected the upgrade choice in his sword information window, but the system alert came to disappoint him.

"System alert: Player needs to first raise his level beyond his current one before upgrading the sword again."

"Sigh, it seems everything is bound to my level then," he shook his head, as he put away his first sword, before taking the second one out. As before, he did the same and leveled up this sword using one SS ranked level five material.

The increase in the second sword was identical to the first one, and that meant he now had two death drop convert skills under his hand; two ultimate attacks to use at time of distress.

"Killing one thousand monsters seems like an easy feat to pull off if I have enough players in my team, but currently I'm all alone, so…" he regretfully put his sword back, before looking forward to the remaining time to get his tattoo special gear. There were still a few minutes left, and so he decided to go to upgrade his glove next.

"System alert: Does player want to upgrade the glove? Please select from your inventory the materials needed for upgrade."

He selected the SS ranked level five material per usual, and after upgrading it to reach rank ten, he hurriedly opened its page to check it out.

"Concealment glove: Level ten glove. Grade silver glove. Rank: ten. No faction restriction. Stats: Phy +500. Str +200. Vit +300. Skills:

Concealment skill: passive skill. makes the player unread to any investigation skill used by players.

Sent to fly skill: Passive skill. any monster or player with levels lower than, or equal the player's level will be sent to the air couple of meters with each strike of the weapon used when wearing the glove. Works only for the weapon wielder faction and the current player hidden class perfectly. For higher level monsters and player, the effect frequency will decrease with each level difference.

Special concealment skill: Active skill. makes the player unread to any investigation skill used by NPCs. Duration: one minute. Cooldown: five minutes. Player can spend gold coins to extend the duration and reduce the cooldown of the skill, each ten gold coins spent will increase the duration for one minute, and reduce the cooldown by two minutes.

Pause skill: Active skill. Player can point his hand wearing the glove towards the incoming enemy, and if the enemy is looking at him, the enemy will pause momentarily from attacking or moving. Duration: one second. Cooldown: three seconds."

Bloom smiled when he checked that, as he now had two more skills added to his arsenal. "Indeed, this game encourages upgrading gears more than acquiring new ones," he muttered, before closing up the window of the glove and opened the next gear info page.

It was one of the three Sherin sets he had, and currently he had a much better chest plate than that of Sherin. He decided to stop using that chest plate of the set, and raise the rank of the other two instead.

As they were red grade gears, and level five as well, raising the two ranks took five SS rank level five materials each, but the gains were really worthy.

"Sherin Cape: One of the Sherin sets. Level zero cape, red grade. Rank: eleven. Requirements: level five and player Bloom. Str +two hundred and fifty. Vit +two hundred and fifty. Lu +two hundred and fifty. Phy + two hundred and fifty percent.

Skills: Cloud of fog skill: In the middle of a movable skill, the course of the skill can be changed according to player's will for five times, with each time causing three hundred percent effect of the first skill. cooldown: ten seconds.

Fog of gravity skill: Passive and active skill. The passive form will make the player's surrounding terrain be always restless to his enemies. gravity slightly increases around the player, making moving around him quite heavy and hard. Current radius: fifty meters. Active form: fog dissipates from the player, in the same area covered by the current gravity skill, making anything or anyone around the player unable to move for one second. Duration: one second per target, one minute total duration. Cooldown: ten minutes."

"Sherin Boots: One of the Sherin sets. Level zero boots, red grade. Rank: eleven. Requirements: level five and player Bloom. Res +three hundred. Vit +two hundred .

Skills: Shadow steps skill: Player can move for twenty seconds without causing any sound, or can be seen. If a player was attacked or he attacked, the skill would be rendered ineffective. Speed increases by four folds during the effect of this skill. Cooldown: ten seconds after the end of the effect of the skill.

Swift kick: Active skill. Chain skill. In the midst of any skill mobility, the player can turn around and launch a kick that will knock the target back for five meters without affecting the original move or interrupt his skill. duration: one kick only per boot. cooldown: three seconds."

Bloom glanced at his new two gears, and resisted the urge to upgrade the chest plate. He had no use for that now, and if not for the binding of the gear to him, he would have sold it the moment he acquired the Grode chest plate.

He closed the two windows and now shifted his attention to upgrade his trump card, the Grode chest plate.

However, when he opened its own info page, he found no upgrade button anywhere there! "Absurd, how can there be an equipment without an upgrade option?" he thought to himself, while checking again, but found none.

Unwillingly he closed the window, and finally time was up for his auction to finish. As he was the sole player here, no other bids were replaced, and he secured the tattoo gear without any suspense or surprises.

"System alert: the auction of the gear you took part in ended, and you got the gear. The gear is automatically transferred into your inventory."

He opened his inventory with a big smile over his face, and there he found a hexagonal ore resembling a token engraved with a life-like lizard that had its skin color change all the time!
