Chapter 01

Liu Ye sat on a chair as he looked around, the street is noisy with people moving around in the busy street visiting the shops and buying, and at the beginning of the street there are people waiting in line for breakfast. The street is very busy as usual, but his shop being situated at the end of the street, there are not many customers.

He sat in his Herb's shop, blanked out, without any care about sales. It's been only a month and half since he came to this city with his wife. They build a house in the outskirts of greenwood valley. He didn't liked staying in city, so they build a house outside the city in an area with few farming families.

Since he's good at plantation and growing medicinal herbs, he planted herbs in a newly bought land near his home. His wife helps him in taking care of the farm and selling them. At first he bought some herbs from an old couple nearby or herbs brought from the forest by his wife, and sold them at the marketplace. Now he's gradually selling the herbs grown in his farm.

"Liu Ye,

Liu Ye,

Liu Ye!!", just as he was blanked out someone called him.

A woman about twenty-three years old stood in front of me.

"Ho.. Madam Lan, good morning", I quickly stood up and greeted her.

"Hey, Liu Ye I said to you, to call me Lan Yue, didn't I ", She glared at me.

"haha.. Lan Yue, I'm sorry, I won't make the mistake again", looking at her sharp eyes I couldn't help it.

"Now pack these herbs for me", she placed a basket in front of me and a list.

I started packing according to the list.

"hmm.. Where's your brother? Didn't he come today?", Lan Yue asked as she looked around curiously.

"No, he didn't came, He's out to buy some things", I replied while packing .

"When will he come?", she enquired me.

"aa.. sorry, I don't know", I replied quickly.

"Oh", she was disappointed.

After I gave her the basket, she left gloomily.

Surrounding people saw this scene, some were surprised, while some remained calm, they were used to it.

The woman who came to buy the herbs, Lan Yue, is a core disciple of the Phoenix Jade palace.

She can send people to get things for her, She doesn't even need to buy things at my place in the first place, mine is just a small shop selling common goods.

She came for Qin Jia.

After she left I decided to pack my things and ready to go home.

"little ye, how's it today'', the old man selling fish asked with a faint smile.

"aa.. good, better than yesterday", I replied faintly.

"don't worry, things will pick up after a few days", said the old guy.

"aan.. yeah,yeah", I'm not worried about my business at all.

"why don't you buy some fish, I heard that your brother is hunting a lot these days, you can cook some fish for change", he started selling with a wide,bright smile.

"well exchange for these, how about it? you can't eat fish everyday right, you can use these for cooking too".I placed some of the herbs for cooking I brought with me infront of him.

"I don't want these and who says you can't eat fish everyday.. come to my house tomorrow night, there's a feast tomorrow and my daughter is the cook. There are many ways to cook fish and my daughter can cook all of them. Looks like your brother didn't came today,bring him too, l will introduce both of you to my family",the old guy started selling his daughter!

"heyy.. say face-to-face, you obviously want to introduce my brother to your daughter", I just experienced this, I know what you want.

"what's wrong, I heard Qin Jia is twenty-three, he shouldn't wait too long to marry, you see, girls might think there's something wrong with him if its too late".

"why don't you introduce me to her, say how about it " these guys never ask me, am I a plague why push me away.

"aiyyo, I would've if not my daughter is interested in your brother", the old guy said as if he would present his daughter in flowers if not.

"oh-oo" f.u.c.k with these excuses.

"hey, is it true ,I heard city lord's wife came for you, they are saying you are lord's wife's giggolo " old man asked with a strange expression and there's a little bit of curiosity and excitement in his eyes.

"F.u.c.k,who said it? just say his name.. I'm not, I just met her once by chance", I cried out, idiots can't satisfy their wife's but spread rumours about me.

"we are good friends just say me the truth", the old fox asked as if we are old friends.

"Shit, just give me two or three, no, give me three fishes, that's it",

old bastard what's your age!!

"haah, you can just say yes or no,

here you go", old man sneered .

and what did I say before

I took the fishes and left.

A long walk to my home after selling the vegetables.

It's too early, but the day feels too long I just can't sit there.

Yu'er should've come home by now, its soothing being with her.

A newly constructed mud house enough for us two people, and there this figure sat under the tree shade.

a simple blue dress,hair falling on his shoulder, strands of hair dancing on his face with the wind, a handsome,charming face, can seduce a woman with just his looks.

"Yu'er", seeing the figure I shouted, there's this excitement that never fades every time I see her.

"You came early", noticing my arrival he slowly opened his eyes from meditation and came forward.

"I missed you today at the stall, I couldn't stand without you anymore and I came early" my eyes locking with her's I just stood there and there's a foolish grin on my face.

"stop with the sweet talk and shut your mouth.

Here you go" with his lips curled in disdain he took the soul strengthening fruits and other herbs from the storage sack and passed them to him.

"Thanks for these, looks like a good harvest today ", ignoring her words I tried to prolong the talk.

"Just go and take your medicinal bath and don't bother me", without speaking anymore he sat under the tree and continued to meditate.

"umm.. okay" there's this disappointment and some pain in my heart, but I had to leave her.

Taking these herbs and soul strengthening fruits I have to try again ..
