Chapter 30 - Plant Mage.

Before I could finish what I was saying I heard awed gasps of the elves that were kneeling before the World Tree. I looked at them and saw them all looking in one direction, they were looking towards Arthur. I too looked towards him and understood why so many elves were amazed. Arthur received the mark. Right in the middle of his forehead he had a green circular mark. The mark depicted a tree full of life.

Looking at him I opened my mouth wide open. It was only three days and he already received the mark. It took Ethan years to get acknowledged and it even took the deer that was as strong as the dragon ten days. Three days! That's what you call a crazy a.s.s plot armor and main character halo.

I took a deep breath and walked towards Arthur. I came towards him and said, "You were acknowledged by the World Tree. I will help you get stronger but before that can you go and eat, have some rest, clean yourself."

After saying that I went back to my room. Inside my room I walked towards my table and started to analyze the translated version of the letter from Uther Pendragon.

I made the decision to shape the king. Before this I was afraid that if I raise the future king wrongly many lives would be lost. King is responsible for not only his life but also for his subjects.

But what do I have to fear?

I'm the person who destroyed the world. I'm the person that had lived for centuries. I'm the person who has the knowledge about uncountable number of Kong's from the old Earth.

I don't know what happens in the future but I'll make damn sure to make this brat a worthy king.

.....

Few days later:

When I was sitting in my room someone knocked on the door. I asked him to come and Arthur entered the room. He looked energized which made me happy. It's really bad for children to suffer from malnutrition.

I asked him to come forwards and then asked, "I know you want to become strong and I could help you. I here have two methods" I said as I showed him two pieces of paper.(For those who wonder how I made paper: I just created it out of air!"

Each piece of paper had a detailed description of the way he could get stronger. Or course two pieces of par.a.p.et were in Draconic language. With my learning capabilities it was really easy to learn Draconic language.

After Arthur read the papers I said, "Those two methods have different fighting style. If you want to train in the first method you will become a mage. And if you train in the second way you will become someone like a warrior. Second method was devised by your father and I recommend it to you."

Arthur looked at me and asked, "But didn't my father lost? It means that second method is weak and with it I could never breath the dragon king."

I smiled and said, "Your father fought the dragon too soon. If we trained a bit more I'm sure he would've won. His understanding of mana was truly extraordinary."

Arthur thought a bit and still couldn't decide which one to choose.

I shook my head and said, "Listen well, I'm going to tell you the difference between mages and warriors!" After saying that I stood up and walked towards the empty place in my room. I conjured a blackboard and a pole with a chalk of the end. Slowly I draw an exact copy of Ethan on the board. I looked at Arthur and said, "This is Ethan and he's a mage. Mages can fight using two methods. First one is gathering mana around you. Ethan can gather mana around himself and then transform it into an elemental attack. The other method to fight for mages is to release the mana inside their bodies and then use that mana to form elemental attacks. When using your own mana your attacks would be faster and more powerful. Of course there is other way of using mana inside your body. It is quite hard to master but because you have the mark I'll explain that method!" I said as I pointed at Arthur's mark.

He touched the mark and I continued, "Other way to use the released mana is by injecting your mana into a plant." I took out a seed and showed it to him. After I showed it to him I slowly released my mana from my hand and injected in into the seed. The seed instantly turned into a vine and as I was injecting mana the vine was growing bigger. Slowly vine coiled around Arthur and trapped Arthur. I waited for few moments and during that time Arthur kept getting weaker. I stopped injecting mana and made the vine smaller.

I walked towards Arthur and said, "If you choose to become a mage your training would be concentrated on becoming a plant mage. The advantage of a plant mage is that you will use little bit of your mana. You don't need much mana to make that vine bigger. That vine is quite strong and durable. Other advantage that vine gives is that it would also drain the targets mana. The mana that was drained would be used to make the vine more stronger."

When every being dies their vessel would slowly be destroyed and the mana would be recycled by the trees and other plants. I created a plant mage system when I combined everything I know about the mana and it's characteristics.
