Overcoming The Beast

Clyde summoned a meter tall red monkey and a variant Fire wolf. The monkey was known as the Ash Monkey, and had a talent of four voidstars and cultivation of four redstars. The Wolf was similar to common Fire wolves that could be found everywhere in the clan. Except it's fur was yellow rather than the orange red normal wolves had. It's cultivation was the same as the monkey but talent was at three voidstars.

Both Clyde and Leon were of the same cultivation. People in the audience got excited and ready for a big fight.

"Leon let's see if you are worthy of being my friend."

"What?"

"wolf attack, monkey use fire Bow."

The Wolf ran front as a vanguard while the monkey formed a bow out of fire and made arrows that it shot at the tiger and snake.

A very classic but effective technique Leon thought. But it wasn't going to change anything. He made the tiger run forward while the snake dodged the arrows. The tiger was faster then the wolf and got an attack first the snake filled it up and quickly beat the wolf. Soon after the monkey was defeated as well.

"Good strategy, just make sure you have beast that can pull it through." Leon said as he left the stage.

Clyde had unsummoned his beast and left as well. Internally he said "Very Well Leon shall be added to my List of friends."

Leon was unaware of this and just sat by waiting when he'll get to fight next.

A few battles later it was Leon's turn again. As Leon walked on stage he saw his opponent and was familiar of them for the first time. In his past life he had seen him a few times. He also looked like the kid who had been jumping on his chair at the first lecture.

"That should be Cesar, the guy who summoned a Lonely Venom Spider. But didn't Cesar awaken his soul book next year?"

Getting his memories back Leon remembered the Clan head had forced him to memorize all the talented people of the clan in his last life in preparation for him to take the position as Young Emperor. These people were the ones he would have under him. Other then Eos and Pace, Cesar was one of them too. He knew for sure that Cesar would awaken the soul book next year and his primal beast would be a Lonely Venom Spider. A six voidstar beast of the poison element. A rare typing beast with strong evolutions.

The opponent didn't chit chat and directly summoned their beast. Manifests the Soul Book and summoned a Black circle but rather than a spider a Black caterpillar like creature walked out. The caterpillar was black and furry. It had two hidden eyes and was a meter long.

Then also summoned a Fiery fairy.

Leon summoned his beast as Well. But was more focused on the opponents beast. That caterpillar is a Midnight Catipillar. Four redstar cultivation and four voidstars beast. However it stood out among other beast as it was sure to evolve into a Midnight Butterfly which had the potential of seven voidstars.

The Fiery Fairy was a three voidstars beast of the same cultivation.

Looking Closely at Cesar. Leon noticed that other then the long hair. Cesar had curves in places boys weren't supposed to have curves in. He then looked behind and saw someone that looked exactly the same as the person who stood on the stage. He already guessed what had happen but to make sure he focused on what the audience were saying.

"Anastasia sure is talented to awaken at the age of eight."

"True she even awakened a poison beast. Which is very rare. They are known to be very deadly. She is someone the clan head is surely keeping an eye out for."

"It's kinda sad his twin brother Cesar hasn't awakened yet. I heard he was even more talented then Anastasia."

This is Cesar's twin sister I hadn't heard of her in my past life. But thinking about it the Lonely Venom Spider needs a sacrifice after it hatches from an egg. Anastasia was probably the sacrifice. And this news was swept under the rug. This makes sense Anastasia and Cesar's parents died in a battle with the Blood continent a few years ago. No one would have cared if she disappeared. That must also be why Cesar was so timid and sad all the time.

Leon fought without concentrating. The Frost Snake and Fire Tiger slowly beat the other beast.

She will die in the future. I don't know if I should save her. A Lonely Venom Spider, although not confirmed, is said to grow stronger relative to how close the sacrifice is to the summoner. A twin is basically as close as you can get, that probably gave Cesar a great boost in strength. If I change the future it would decrease my advantage in this Life as well.

Leon hadn't done much to change the future but he could already see changes. The Clan was much weaker and had less resources. The Clan head wasn't strict and was careless. In his last life after the traitor who stole the Pure Flame Cloud Art was caught. The Clan head purged the Clan of traitors. He had turned into a dictator with the power he gained having the Future Young Emperor as his disciple.

Leon then beat Anastasia. Entering the finals.

Looking at Anastasia, when he saw her as a girl again, she looked quite beautiful. She had long Black hair and an unchanging face. The more he looked at her, the more he felt like he was forgetting something. It then hit him. Anastasia was girl that could get a strong poison and dark type beast. She was the perfect candidate for the MidNight Queen's inheritance. The Midnight Queens inheritance held a map to one of the Great Libraries. Leon had to get it in this life.

"I could probably get it without her but she would make it easier. I don't even know when she dies. Maybe if I can think of another use for her I'll just bring her away from her brother."

Leon prepared for the next fight. It was with Dwight, the chubby kid that awakened the Volcanic Elephant. Leon had no idea who he was. In his last life because of his own high talent the standard was had greatly risen. Unless you were unique in some way you were usually forgotten about.

He had only remembered Dwight from the awakening ceremony as he was appalled by the drop in standard.

Loic called both of them up on stage. Leon met with Dwight. They both summoned their beast.
