Overcoming The Beast

As the netherworld ice gets weaker the air gets colder and colder until he finally reaches a room covered in netherworld ice. There was a small deposit of a crystal clear liquid. It was the culprit weakening the ice; it was s.u.c.k.i.n.g in all the coldness form the ice around it.

Looking at all NetherWorld ice Leon couldn't help but say. "There is so much netherworld ice here. I'm about to lose a treasure mine."

He walked up i the pond, In it was a snow white egg. The egg had weird etchings of an unknown language in a faded black covering it.

"That's what I'm after, but first let's make the most of the situation."

Leon takes out the an empty bottle from the spatial ring in his mouth. It was the one he got from the treasury that had stored the Fire Winged Snake blood and filled it with the clear liquid. "It would be normally impossible to find Ice Crystal Liquid- especially something this high quality." He fills the bottle to the limit but still has most of the ice crystal liquid left.

Ice crystal liquid is found on the bottom of oceans when thousand year old ice is liquefied due to pressure over millions of years.

He picked up a small piece of netherworld ice and swallowed it. Making sure to keep the spatial ring in his mouth away from the cold energy.

Leon started running the first level of the ice art he found in the clan treasury. It was the three pages of low earth rank ice technique he got front the clans treasury. At first he felt cold and started to shiver but then he stopped as he got more efficient at using the art.

But soon after he stated feeling cold and hot where his body started turning blue. The Phoenix egg in his soul book unconsciously responds by releasing fire elemental energy. at this point Leon felt his body tearing apart. He would feel a burning sensation then a freezing sensation, rather then cancel each other out they seemed enhance each other.

Leon let out a loud grunt and then scratches his nails across his legs. He crawled to the ice crystal liquid and dips his tongue into it.

Leon starts to drink the ice crystal liquid. He drank it fast stopping any of the energy reaching the spatial ring. The Phoenix egg continues to release more and more heat energy. Leon eventually drinks all the liquid. He could feel his soul cooling and slowly freezing. He couldnt see any more, neither could he feel. His body felt numb, from muscles to emotions, even time seemed to have stop. Slowly he lost all his senses. He even felt his consciousness escaping. But he knew that if he faints now he would die for sure.

Leon tries to move his body but feels no response but continues his action knowing that his body should still be able to move. with quick jerk, using the energy left his body moves almost instinctively and bites his wrist pouring his blood on the egg on the bottom of the now empty pond.

The human and the egg form a mysterious connection. Leon soul book manifests and starts to change, the pure crimson book had a little dot of blue on one of the edges.

Leon finally regains his senses, with his tremendously increased ice affinity and with the help of his new contract beast. The egg starts absorbing the ice elemental energy in him. The Mystic Ice art levels up to the second level and helps him send the cold ice energy into the egg much faster.

While in this time Leon starts to sulk. "All the ice crystal liquid I drank, if properly collected and used could have made dozens of beast go through major evolutions. Although it help increase my ice affinity, it is too much of a waste."

The egg turns brighter and brighter until it finally hatches. The shell breaks apart to reveal a small snake the size of a finger. Completely white with translucent black eyes.

The small snake started circling around the room and eating the netherworld ice on the walls as it was about to eat it's second bite Leon grabbed it and started running out of the cave. He spat out the spatial ring and put it back on.

The cave started to crack and all the ice shattered. Leon swiftly grabbed as many shards of netherworld ice as he could and ran.

He unsummoned the white snake and used the ice art to form a sludge hammer which smashed the resealed magma wall. He jumped into the magma and summoned the Phoenix egg and grabbed into it.

Using the Phoenix egg as a mount Leon controlled it out of the magma back to the surface. Over there he could feel a torrent of fire energy being absorbed by the volcano.

"So that is why the volcano erupted, it was being sealed by that cave so when I removed all the ice crystal liquid it turned active again."

"But how did Orion find this cave in the first place. I only know that he got his Frost Dragon from here after soul searching him."

But the white snake I got clearly is no Frost Dragon, it should be frost snake. Leon decides to face the problem on hand first. With a gesture he sends the Phoenix egg down into the magma making go as deep as it can go.

"I was not expecting such a large reserve of energy inside the volcano, I thought it would take around four years even if I sped things up using various methods but now it'll take less then three."

"Sorry buddy we will have to separate for now. I'll come back in a while, you should absorb as much fire elemental energy as you can and hatch out of that egg so we can be together."

Leon sends his intention through the blood soul pact and knew the Phoenix egg had accepted what he said. He felt as if he could hear a faint cry of the Phoenix resonate through his soul.

"Well it seems like the volcano won't be erupting as long as the egg is in the magma as it'll absorb all the fire elemental energy being released." Leon went around in the volcano erasing anything that would show his presence and told the Phoenix egg to hide its presence using the pact.

After climbing out Leon wanted to find a place to rest. Leon went to the cave with the pool of water. As he was about to wash himself he noticed his skin was fairer, his hair colour had changed, it had turned completely white and even his eyes had turned blue.

"Well now I need to hide this, that ice crystal liquid was way too powerful, it even mutated my genes, well I can't go back to the clan like this."

Leon finished washing himself and sat down and started cultivating the formless aura art "If I reach level two I should be able to change my appearance, with that I'll be able to go back to the clan" he summoned the white snake and took out the netherworld ice shards giving the snake a few to eat.

The elemental energy flowed through him but the art was far from leveling up. "Well I guess I'll be going on a trip much earlier then I thought."

He looked at the soul book he summoned. There was a blue dot it was barely visible. Leon grabbed the book and started rubbing the blue dot. When he saw it didn't disappear started to think "soul books are known to always be the same color as they started. They may grow in shades but never to a completely different color like how my book has blue on it. This means my soul book has been mutated by the strong ice element."

He continued to look in his body for changes. using internal sight Leon could feel even his bones had mutated many of them had small parts of them turn into ice. He felt his blood carried a lot more ice energy. He dropped his blood on the ground to see that It froze the ground. He checked deeply into the ice in his body, his instincts were telling him there was more to it. Leon circulated the fire energy he could feel that the ice had a fire in it. It was trapping fire energy.
