*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

Simultaneous explosions occurred around the city wall.

A lot of giants died with those explosions, but that is not the biggest damage the earth city took. Instead, the biggest loss is the formation that was immediately destroyed along with those giants.

And that is not all.

The position of these giants when they were destroyed, played another role in this whole fiasco. A formation appeared outside of the city walls with the giants' explosions as nodes.

*BOOM*

A shockwave of water elemental energy shook the whole city. Spiritual energy condensed into water as it pierced through the structures like thin needles. Needles, but millions of them.

All the structures within the city were attacked at the same moment. Dozens of giants turned into giant pin cushions. Only the needles didn't stick. They went through their bodies, before dissolving into normal water.

Earth Giants known for their sturdy body and their strong defense fell into puddles of their own blood in seconds. The Earth Giant commander looked at his subordinates's deadbodies and took in a breath of cold air.

He looked around angrily. The remaining subordinates spread throughout the forest as they searched for the culprit.

"Don't come back until you find some traces. If they left by foot, find their tracks, they should have at least one. If they left by air, spot them. If they used some spatial transport, find the fluctuations. I want them found now."

All the earth giants moved.

The Earth Giant Commander is decisive and he ordered people around with precise commands.

At this moment, within the forest a couple of miles away from the city.

Sam and Mitra are sitting on the trees side by side.

Sam held a metal bullet in his hand. He played around with it as he looked at the Earth Giants moving around.

"What is that thing in your hands?"

Mitra as usual ran his mouth. Sam looked at the bullet and had an amused expression on his face.

"This? It's a thing used to kill people."

"Is it like a dart or something? I have never seen such a fat and thick dart. How destructive is it?"

"More destructive than your attacks."

Mitra frowned and looked at Sam.

"What are you looking at?" Sam asked as he looked at his expression.

"Looking at you to finish your joke."

"I am not kidding. This this is much more lethal than you could imagine."

"I am not gonna take this lying down. You better prove it."

"Sure thing. I am more than happy to enlighten you. How about we make a bet?"

"What bet?"

"Assuming that you are fighting to death, how many people can kill before the Earth Giant Commander catches up to you?"

Mitra went into a deep thought as he looked at the city as well as the tablet screen in his hands. With his constant questions, Sam couldn't bear it anymore and gave him a tablet to check the surroundings.

"I can easily kill four dozen giants before they could catch me."

Sam nodded and said.

"Okay then, I will not move away from this tree and I will not use anything other than the weapon that is used to launch these things. I will kill forty-eight people and will only move after I achieve that goal.

Are you up for it?"

"Okay, what do you want to bet?"

"How about this, the loser will have to stay silent for one whole day. Exactly twenty-four hours."

Mitra's face turned black as he looked at Sam.

"Hey, isn't it another way of saying that I am annoying you with my words? What do you mean by that? Are my words that unbearable? I thought we were good friends."

"Are you game or not? Don't be a whiny baby."

"Alright, I am in. But if I win, I want you to answer every single question I ask for twenty four hours."

"Deal."

Sam spoke and he took out the sniper rifle. He leaned against the large trunk of the tree while he supported himself by kicking against the branch. He held the sniper rifle and aimed at an earth giant that is far away from the city, but still within the rifle range.

Within that forest, silently a bullet was shot.

Mitra was able to see the shot moving because he was nearby. There is no other indication, both visually or audibly.

The bullet zoomed through the air. It pierced through the leaves that came in its way, before it lodged itself into the head of a Giant.

*CRUSH*

The head exploded before the giant could even realize what is happening.

"That is one."

Sam said as he looked at the dumbfounded Mitra. Even though he had to hide his senses to not alert his enemies and the thick forest blocked his vision, he could still see the scene through the tablet.

The death of the earth giant was so silent to the point even the remaining giants nearby thought that he exploded on his own. Sam didn't even wait for Mitra to come out of his shock.

"Two"

"Three"

"Four"

"Five"

One Giant dead per second.

Five Giants died before one of the giants had the mind to open his communication token.

*CRUSH*

Only as soon as he did, his head exploded.

Finally, the giants realized that the heads are not exploding on their own, but the projectiles are coming from somewhere.

The Giants immediately activated earthen walls before they took out their communication tokens and called for reinforcements.

*CRASH* *CRUSH*

The bullet crashed through a wall and killed another giant.

"Eight"

"Nine."

"Ten."

"Eleven"

"Twelve"

One-fourth of the target is completed before the news about the inexplicable deaths was sent to the Commander.

Sam looked at Mitra and smiled.

Mitra had his mouth wide open. He had seen many assassins in his lifetime. He has seen assassins specialized in long-range attacks. Mages, Archers, he has seen people using poison, undead, souls, shadows. But he never saw this kind of weapon.

And there is a reason why Sam showed this to Mitra.

He has been very annoyed over the days with Mitra's questions, so now he decided to take some silly revenge by making him more curious and not letting him ask any questions.

"Thirteen"

"Fourteen."

It wouldn't even take that long to do that anyway.
