Christos jumped up in the air and almost punched the holographic screen.

He was scared for a moment and it took him a few seconds to stabilize. He looked at the screen and watched Sam's grin.

"You are one clever little rat aren't you? You think you can send some smaller rats and see if you can take a bite off my leg?"

Christos had a somber expression as he looked at Sam. He is giving out commands in his head, urging the bird to escape from that place, but of course the puppet is locked in place.

"I don't know who you are now, but trust me. I am going to find you my dear rat. Good luck facing me."

Sam let go of the bird and disappeared from that spot.

Christos panted and let the bird come back to him again. He watched the recording of what Sam did once again with a frown on his face. He wasn't able to identify the deciding factor of the battle. Most of Sam's moves were ridiculous.

In some moves, he didn't even target any vitals.

But he still managed to win easily. His heart sank. The whole point of ambush is knowing what Sam would do when he is overpowered and outnumbered. In fact, he wanted to know Sam's desperate defensive measures and the running tactics, but instead all ten of the ambushers got their asses handed to them.

He needs to get some answers and he didn't waste any time. He ran back to the Zeus academy to meet with his teacher, who is one of the elders of the academy and also an alumni of their Noble league.

Meanwhile, back in the Gambler's Academy.

Within the medicine hall.

The Elder in charge is looking at the young man who laid in the bed writhing in pain.

This is the same young man who attacked Sam and became victim of Sam's retaliation.

The Elder in charge of the freshmen is standing on the other side of the bed.

"How is he doing Elder Haron? Please tell me he will be okay?"

The Elder in charge of the students asked the Elder in charge of the Medicine hall.

Elder Haron's face is full of sadness.

"He will be okay, physically after a while, but I don't know if he would be able to handle it mentally."

"What do you mean?"

"Sam used the death energy in a unique way. This is the first time I have seen this. The energy is not attacking the meridians on even the vitality of this student, but it is targeting a very limited number of cells in the body.

And once the death energy kills enough cells that have the same level of energy as the death energy, he would recover. But the pain of it would be excruciating. I could put him on a sedative or a meditative coma to offset the pain.

The problem is if he is not awake, he wouldn't be able to concentrate and resist the death energy, which will let it spread further. For it to not spread and leave his system on its own as it was meant to do, he should be awake.

But after enduring all of that pain, if his will is not strong enough, he might be broken."

"How long will it take for this process to happen? Can't we remove the death energy directly?"

"It will take one week, if we leave it as it is. We can absolutely try to remove the energy, but I am not confident that I can do it. The death energy almost acts like it has a conscious of its own. Once we try to deal with it, it is going to act up.

And it is very close to the vital points as it is. It is almost like Sam knew every critical point related to this guy's cultivation and physique and death energy is targeting those areas. If it explodes, he will die. My suggestion is unless the dean or Vice Dean steps forward, we shouldn't do anything and let it be.

I can stay beside and help him ease some pain here and then, but we can't do anything else."

The Elder felt his heart sink.

He just wanted to go and bash the shit out of Sam right now. But he already learned the context of the situation. The kid on the bed is the one that made the first move, Sam acted only in retaliation and worst part is, Sam only used the same death energy that was used to attack him.

He just knew how to attack better.

The Elder looked at the kid on the bed and wanted to say something, but he held back and walked out. He knew that the kid who suffered the consequences is not the perpetrator of this. He would very much like to know who is behind this, it is just not the right time.

The Elder went to talk to Crow.

Meanwhile, back in Zeus academy.

Christos is sitting in front of an Elder in a luxurious office.

The Elder had a clean face with no facial hair and his thick long hair is tied into a bun and a hair pin that is shaped like a sword held it together.

He is looking at the video recording that Christos brought.

"Teacher, no matter how many times I saw it, I wasn't able to understand his fighting style. How did he manage to defeat them when he didn't even aim for the vitals?"

The Elder stayed silent for a moment and said.

"It is a unique fighting method I must say. This guy has an impeccable fight IQ and it seems like he knows all of their weak points.

At least that is the only thing that I could think of as I see it.

As for how he managed to spot your bird, I cannot tell you. It must be his unique observation technique."

"Weak points? But he didn't aim for the vitals."

"If you think Physical Vitals are the only weak points, then your education should be revamped. In fact, based on cultivation techniques, battle style, behavior, there are many kinds of weak points. This guy might be an expert in finding out."

"But how?"

"I don't know that. The only thing that I see is that thing he wore on the face. It has been a long time since I saw someone fight like this."

"Is his fighting ability that good?"

"Yeah, he used a technique so good that you didn't even see it and think of it even after all this talk."

"What would that be?"

"Information."

Christos stayed silent. Its apparent that he didn't understand it from his facial expressions.

"Somehow he had information about the weaknesses of these people. And from the way he acted, he knew about your attack as well. He knew what he was doing throughout the whole fight. There is something off, a missing element.

And even I can't identify it.

If you want to go after him, be more careful. I suggest you take your time and understand what he is and how he acts. Then, you will have a chance of handling him. Otherwise, you can forget it."

"Alright Teacher, thank you for your guidance. I will wait until the first open tournament. From what I heard, Apollo wants to take the lead this time. I will see his performance in that and then I will act based on that."

"Good. Now leave me alone."

Christos walked out. He took out his communication token and contacted a few people in his league. H needs to make some more preparations.

Meanwhile, in the same Zeus academy.

Pearl is looking at the video in front of her.

It is the same video that Christos showed to his teacher. But this is from a different perspective.

One of her lackeys that is tailing Sam filmed this.

"He is a lot more complicated than I thought. Judging by how he managed to spot a camouflaged bird, it wouldn't make sense that he doesn't know a tail is after him and he is being watched by other birds.

Then why did he let them be?"

She had a tense expression on her face.

She is a bit of a control freak. The situation should always be in her control and it was the case since she joined the academy, but it is in a complete imbalance ever since Sam showed up.

She felt a bit threatened.

She could only contact her team and make some extra preparations.

While everyone is making preparations like this, Sam is also making his own preparations. He planted many seeds and now it is time to wait for the first open tournament and too see how far the seedlings have come.

Of course, before that he needs to gather some information on who planned that death energy attack.

It might not be lethal and from the looks of it, its designed to annoy him, but still there is a crack in the system since he didn't find it. So, he needs to fix it.
