Re: Life In One Piece

Chapter 4 - Queen's legacy

Inside a medium-sized bathhouse, I was relaxing in the tub with a smooth forehead.

Sanji was next to me, while Sora and Reiju were submerged in the water not too far away from us. The bath was heavy with steam and bubbles, so it was hard to see around.

"Ahh… this is great! I can't wait to have a good meal after this." I murmured.

Sora smiled broadly and turned her glance towards Sanji. "I'm hungry too… And these days, Sanji has decided to cook my every meal; I'm so proud of him!"

Sanji's face flushed a little red as he said, "Haha… I'm still learning."

"Oh, wow! I want to try Sanji's food too!"

I had almost forgotten about this. But how could I possibly live with the Vinsmokes and not have tried Sanji's food at least once.

"Sure, Magnus! You can eat my food any-"

"Don't torture Magnus too… Your food is terrible. I wonder how mom can still eat it."

Reiju's brows knitted in pessimism as she remembered Sanji's cooking. His skills were still terrible, especially compared to the royal cooks in the castle after all.

Sanji's head turned downwards, but I immediately patted his back with encouragement.

"Every cook has to keep practicing to perfect himself… Don't worry too much about how it tastes now because I can eat anything you cook with my appetite! So, will you cook for me?"

"Of course, Magnus!"

A dimpled smile developed on Sanji's face. He promised to practice even harder to make better meals for his mom and everyone else.

I also decided to do my best to motivate him in hope I could enjoy his wonderful meals one day.

"Hehehe… You're just like a good big brother. So cute!"

Plop- Right then, Sora moved her hand towards me. She grabbed me and pulled me close to her.

Before I could say anything, she used her long slender arm to start scrubbing my body.

'This is weird as a grown man,' I thought as I attempted to get away from her. But I didn't dare use too much force to avoid harming her fragile but voluptuous body

"Gee… Don't worry, Magnus! You can think of me as your mother taking care of you."

Instead of being pushed away, Sora came closer and hugged me tightly instead.

The tip of her soft, squishy b.r.e.a.s.ts came in contact with my c.h.e.s.t. It felt too good for me to try and resist anymore.

After some time, Sora let go of me and placed me next to her. She glanced towards Reiju and then back to me as she said, "Sanji is such a kind, sweet boy. But Reiju has a hard time expressing herself… Magnus, you should become her friend."

My brows furrowed in contemplation as I tilted my head towards Reiju in the distance.

It was evident that Reiju would probably turn out very beautiful like her mother in the future.

"Mhm, that would be good investment on my part… I can probably allow Reiju to be my girlfriend if her c.h.e.s.t grows big enough in the future."

My comments caused a giggle to escape Sora's mouth.

On the other hand, Reiju's ears turned a little red as she covered her almost non-existent c.h.e.s.t with her hand.

"Who is interested in dating you in the first place?"

"Uh… are bigger c.h.e.s.ts better?" Sanji asked, c.o.c.king his head in confusion.

Sanji's question made my eyes blink in surprise a few times. How could such a famous pervert have asked me such an innocent question?

I took a deep breath and was about to give him an important lesson, when…

Cough-Cough- Sora began to cough without stopping.

"Mom, are you okay?"

Both Sanji and Reiju went and supported her with worried expressions. Soon Sora began to cough blood without stopping.

Step-Step-

In a few moments, Eponi, the nurse, rushed into the bath house with a stretcher and medical supplies.

I monitored Sora for a little while before leaving her care to the doctors in Germa Kingdom.

Being a little familiar with diseases myself, I could recognize a few of her symptoms to be related to a serious autoimmune disorder of the heart.

It was probably caused by the medicine she took to block those genetics enhancements on her sons…

She should have died already but was desperately clinging on to life. She wanted to build a few more memories and instill kindness in the heart of her children before she left this world.

This is the decision she took, and Sanji will be the legacy she'll leave behind by sacrificing her life...

Another year passed by quickly...

Throughout the year, I stayed diligent in my training and would occasionally hang out with Reiju and Sanji or visit the ever-worsening Sora from time to time.

Presently, Reiju and I were in a small field with trees planted around us.

Swoosh- An intense session of training was being performed. It wasn't by me but Reiju who was punching the tress with her immense superhuman strength.

As for me, I was resting on a thick branch of a tree above her and checking my stats…

In the past year, I would often get notifications like: [Through influencing Sanji more as a friend, you have been awarded 30 special points.]

I figured that perhaps bonding with one of the main characters of this world was the reason for gaining these miscellaneous points.

Smack…!

While I was playing around my stat screen, Reiju punched a tree with immense strength and caused it to split in half.

I stretched my arms and took a deep yawn as I stared at the hard-working Reiju.

"Amazing, you have defeated another evil tree! Germa 66 is one step closer to conquering North Blue because of you…"

Reiju ignored my offhand remark and continued to train for a while. Shortly, she jumped up on a branch of the same tree and sat down over there.

"You should train harder too… Yonji, Ichiji, and Niji have are already about to catch up with our strength."

"Mhm..."

I raised my eyebrows at her statement.

The princes, excluding Sanji of course, were designed with slightly better genetics than even Reiju. The fact that they didn't feel compassion, sympathy, or pain also made them significantly better at engaging in intense sparring or training.

It was only a matter of time before they surpassed the three-year older Reiju...

If I were to rate myself in comparison to them though, I was truly on a whole different scale of strength above them.

However, I had already begun to heavily downplay and hide my growth and fighting skills from the rest.

From having witnessed Vinsmoke Judge sacrifice clones in trivial ways, I was reminded of my own status and mortality. It's not exactly that everyone still saw me as a mere clone anymore; Sora had helped me get rid of that tag and given me a special status.

But even though I had established myself as someone with his own free will, I was sure that Vinsmoke Judge wouldn't hesitate to use me as his pawn for his risky plans in the future.

.

Rustle-Rustle-

Suddenly, I heard something approaching us from the bushes. I turned my gaze to the source of sound to see that it was Sanji running away from his brothers.

The brothers were carrying wooden swords and chasing after him leisurely, like predators playing around their prey.

I took a bitter sigh and -Whoosh- jumped right in between them.

"Get out of our way!"

"Just because you have a name and some status now, don't dare to disobey royalty!"

Niji and Yonji were the first to step out and glare at me angrily.

"Well, Sanji has ordered me to defend him, so his safety comes first." I replied, a blank stare on my face.

"Uh… yeah!"

Sanji nodded in agreement.

Before Niji and Yonji could say anything, Ichiji stopped them with a slight frown on his face.

"You better watch out, Magnus. You won't be able to protect him when we get stronger than you. Hahahahahaha!"

The three began to walk away from the scene with twisted grins on their faces.

I just snorted loudly and thought, 'these brats will one day get it from me.'

Soon Reiju rushed up to Sanji and began to patch his wounds.

"Why hadn't you gone straight to mom's after training? You let them get a jump on you…"

"Uh, but I wanted to come here to harvest some fresh ingredients to cook for mom later…"

Sanji scratched his head with a wry smile on his face.

Reiju wanted to say more but stopped herself from doing so.

She continued treating Sanji, while I approached him with a wide grin and said, "I'll help you on your ingredient search… You can then cook a wonderful meal for your mom!"

Sanji's eyes sparkled, and we were about to leave… But then a grim atmosphere overwhelmed us all of a sudden.

Thud-Thud…! From the distance, the figure of Eponi rushed to our location with beads of sweat rolling down all over her face.

"Huff… Huff… Something has happened to Madam," She exclaimed.

**

The following day…

"Sob… Sob…"

The entirety of the clone army and Sanji were crying bitter tears. The body of their queen, Vinsmoke Sora, was being transferred to be buried in the ground.

Vinsmoke Judge and his children including Reiju stood there with cold faces. The former couldn't shed tears while the latter wasn't allowed to shed tears.

Emotion was seen as weakness in the kingdom of Germa, the warmongering kingdom that shall one day reclaim their past glory.

I eyed the body of the queen one last time and then her son, Sanji. 'Your legacy will not go to waste, Sora...' I thought with my fists clenched tightly.
