Suffering in silence, Rimuru appears to be doing nothing. Probably in shock. Let's remedy that. Rushing ahead a bit and sitting in a tree I start to explain the situation to him, naturally while feigning ignorance to his true nature.

"Hey uh, little slime friend? Now I know that you probably can't understand me, but if you behave anything like my cat I'll probably be talking to- at you a lot. My name is Alaya. I am a Keeper of Balance and a third rank Nymph. I like to eat sweet foods and be lazy, and I dislike hard work. Pretty much sums up what I tell other people. What I DON'T tell them is probably the most important bit of all. I'm also a reincarnator, someone who was brought to this world through… Well… That part I'm still trying to work out. Feels good to get it out there for once quite frankly, even if it is just to you."

"Uhm… I'm a reincarnator too."

I immediately go rigid and wide-eyed. An act of course, but an amusing one. I stare down at him.

"Explain?"

My [Dominating Presence] strikes fear into the heart of the lowly slime. The one who, if I remember correctly, shouldn't at this point be able to talk properly.

"Kyeh! W-Well, I was going to reveal myself anyway! But after you said all that… It didn't really seem fair just to tell you that I can talk."

"Interesting interesting interesting… Fight me. I want to see how strong a slime is when they have human-level intelligence!"

I just KNOW he sweatdropped there. Anyway, in regards to the big reincarnation reveal… It shouldn't be that surprising. Judging by his reaction to basically this same situation in the anime, he'll open up much more to me now and he'll probably feel relieved that he has someone to talk to about the small things.

Anyway, after a bit of persuading, he caved. His boulder splitting water blade couldn't break through my reinforced stone walls, so yet again, I was bombarded by notifications.

"Why am I not surprised? It seems like every minute you get less and less normal. First you aren't a human, then you massively outstrip us in magic and now you've found a sentient slime. I bet next you tell me this slime is responsible for Veldora's disappearance."

I can't help bursting into laughter at that. Of all the things Elen could have said, she just HAD to pick that.

"What's so funny NOW?"

"I just find it hilarious that you've pointed that out without knowing me for more than a few days. Phew… You know, abnormal really is a neat way to describe me in one word, but you aren't exactly average yourself Miss El_en."

At this point Gido interrupts. Until now he's just stayed silent, but you could see at a quick glance that he was getting somewhat restless.

"Slime, you coming with us? Might have trouble talking in the city."

"He's right you know, a talking slime would cause quite a few problems, first one being Trient's basic law for monsters being 'kill on sight'."

Cabal naturally chipping into the conversation, but usually he doesn't shed light on anything like he has now.

"Well that would certainly explain your shock at finding out what I am and my finding out what you are, but slimes are good at mimicry, so if we just kill someone and let Rimuru… Why are you looking at me like that? It's a good plan."

----- Day 37 -----

Still killing basically everything around me… But now I'm also collecting a variety of rocks and plants as well, and sharing half my food with Rimuru.

Apparently night viper venom can be mixed with this weird plant I found and water to create a really delicious tea-like drink. It loses it's poisonous properties as well, even going so far as to be a slight sedative. Testing it with another, very similar plant… Well, constipation isn't going to be a problem any more. This one looks basically the same, but tastes disgusting.

Amusingly, Rimuru seems to be sticking close to me for the most part. He probably still thinks he's too weak- and for the record he has been told multiple times that it's not a good idea to look at me as normal. In many ways, insulting me many, many times. Then again, he has also been bombarding me with questions and information about his other life which, while I will remember it all for future reference, is pretty dull.

On second thought I do need more laxative root.

Upon questioning our companions throughout the day I learnt more about the surrounding kingdoms.

There's the Sternbild kingdom, which we are currently within the territory of, and we border the Farmus kingdom and the Kirika empire, encompassing a stretch of land between two seas. To the west of Farmus lies… Greece. In other words, the Sternbild kingdom is just an expanded Georgia lying in between the Caspian and Black seas. Well at least I have a rough world map. Now I wonder whether anyone's 'discovered' America… Oh yeh, to the south lie Ruberios, Atarakua and the Estgrand Beast Kingdom, while to the north east are Dwargon, Lumen and the Sorcerous Dynasty Sarion.

Just to recap. Europe to the west. Demons, beastmen and a holy land to the south. Dwarves, elves and a holy land to the north. There are also a bunch of other places

This is a bloody complicated world.

"No, Veldora is not there anymore, and I'm getting tired of repeating myself. By the way, who's the new guy?"

The previous two questions were "You're sure about that?" followed by "And you're certain you didn't just make a mistake?". Rachael is here again, guess she's a major player in this, and there's one other guy in the room. He's standing casually at the side of the room leaning against the wall. Practically the same height as me, his long dark hair, all-black clothing and scythe make him look both depressing and depressed, or possibly just not caring about what happens.

"This is Ubir, a sergeant first class in the royal army. He's here to inspect any new recruits and see if any of them are good enough to join his platoon."

Mr.Gloom over by the wall waves over before dropping his hand and giving the most almighty sigh.

"Guh… Right. It's an empty title really, don't bother with it. I've got leave, but if I don't recruit I'll probably get demoted... Do your best not to fail and you'll get a decent salary and the law will be more lax on you… Got that? Great… Let's get this over with."

This was a very fun chapter to write, I'm just gonna say that right now. Sorry you had to wait for it so long though… And BEFORE anyone yells at me, there are reasons beyond what I mentioned in the chapter for why he revealed what he did. Don't get too angry.

Like always though please tell me if I've done something wrong... In the chapter... And I'll try and fix it. It probably seems like the MC is growing too fast, but as far as I can see, that's how it would happen to start with. Only at the higher levels will a leech start having problems and have to find a different way to do things.
