----- Day 13 -----

The unlucky number 13. To think, just one more day will make for a full fortnight I've been here in this place. It's astonishing really that I hadn't mentioned my clothing before, but I guess that normally it's so normal to be wearing clothes that it's taken for granted even when they aren't the same quality. Now that I've been made to wear the same clothes for 2 days, one of them in a burning village full of ash and smoke, the other traipsing through the woods collecting dirt and grime, an old adage is battering itself against my brains constantly - 'You don't know what you have until it's gone'. While mindlessly ambling, I bashed up a couple of red boars, a deer-like thing with three eyes, a massive spider and a few more snakes, but quite a bit later on in the day was when I came across by far the scariest of them.

For the most part, I was just minding my own business and flitting from tree to tree, heading east (because if I didn't give myself an actual direction, I'd probably go in circles), when I hear the most almighty screeching sound, so loud that it seemed to be coming from all directions. I hurried on, but naturally for one with luck such as mine, I quickly come across the owner of the voice. A hulking beast at least 8 feet tall standing on it's hind legs with the face of an owl and the body of a bear. It may not sound disturbing just described like that, but the luminous, never-closing orbs it has as eyes seemed to be staring directly into my soul when it turned towards me, eyeing me hungrily. Then it dropped down onto all fours and charged towards me, a seemingly unstoppable force.

In the end however, it didn't put up too much of a fight. Assuredly, it would have killed me in a single shot, given how deep I had to bury it in order to keep it down, but I simply collapsed the ground beneath it and covered it with earth until it suffocated. Were it that much smarter, it would have altered course slightly to the side upon noticing the ground collapsing, but as it was it leapt forwards, an action I was expecting and prepared for, having partially collapsed the entire strip between us as soon as I saw him a threat... Correction, as soon as I saw him. I levelled up 4 times from that, much to my dismay, but it was either that or dying, and I don't particularly fancy that option.

----- Day 14 -----

After experimenting on my terraforming and nature command for a while, I discover that their maximum ranges are 15 and 25 meters respectively, and while terraforming is stronger and sturdier, it also takes up far more mana to use, and isn't as flexible, making nature a better choice for faster and/or flying opponents. Other than that, it's mostly just more of the same. Day came and went and at this point I'm seriously disappointed by the lack of an inventory system. Most of the meat from the animals I kill can't be brought with me. At the moment I'm carrying a roughly made vine backpack full of red boar meat and owl-bear fur… I haven't made myself clothes out of it because I'm bound to evolve soon and as a will'o'wisp I'm unlikely to need clothes at all. How do I know I'm evolving soon? I'm growing, my skin looks to be tanning, something that for some reason doesn't happen to nymphs, and my hair is turning orange, slowly but surely. It might be going quicker because I hit level 20.

[Rank Up! Nymph - Hesperide!]

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

This is fine. I can work with this. My future prospects are not entirely ruined. Hesperides… Daughters of evening and sisters of the Pleiades if I'm not mistaken. The skin tone and hair colour don't disagree. If that's so I'm going to have to rethink my strategy for character build. The suggestion in 'evening' is a single, powerful blow ending any battle. However, that won't work for all battles, so endurance is still key, but only to the same extent as speed. So currently the focus is intelligence, with wisdom as secondary, followed by speed and then endurance. Once intelligence and speed are at the same level as wisdom and endurance respectively, the priority will drop to be equal instead of higher… Actually, with my [Focus: Learning]... This could work out pretty well. Hold on did my stats change at all?

Racial multiplier huh… Does that mean everything is multiplied by ? Oh that's good. If it'd just outright multiplied them it would make fixing the stat difference an absolute nightmare.

Gonna keep walking I guess. Maybe test my new limits… I should probably start sprinting all over the place to train my speed instead of endurance, even if it does reduce the area I can cover slightly.

----- Day 17 -----

I stand corrected. Due to my increased endurance, sprinting actually increased the distance I can travel in a day drastically, since I don't get tired so easily. Update on 'animals brutally murdered', I crushed some ferret look-alike and a few bats, and along the river I found even more snakes, some turtles and something that acted very similarly to a piranha.

----- Day 18 -----

Currently stalking a group of dog-people. I don't know their average strength, so I'm not willing to commit to the attack, and I'm trailing them with echolocation so there's absolutely no chance of them seeing me… I make sure there's always something between us. Only one of them has a ranged weapon though, so once I do strike, he needs to go first.

Now there's another group stalking the dog-people, or rather, readying their weapons to attack said kobolds. Judging by their size I want to say human, but they have pointed ears… Half elves? Quickly I position myself 120 degrees away from them just in case.

*Thwack!*

The opening salvo by the ?Half-elves? Starts with a rock from a slingshot. Striking the dog-man directly in the head with terrifying accuracy (or dumb luck, but I refuse to believe that), the target falls to the floor and I rush in, now having a basic measure of my opponent's strength. After all, that rock would just bounce off my body as it is now.

Once within range, I erect a stone wall in between the two dog-people and launch a salvo of vines to wrap around the one on my side. Dragging the thorny vines across his body, he drops within moments and I prepare myself to fight against the other group. Magic gives me far too much of an edge over purely physical fighters, so I'm not too worried, but precautions always need to be taken. I step back a few meters and lower the barrier wall slowly, raising vines on either side of me as a show of force, even if it does drain my mana slightly, it opens a number of avenues..

[Ability gained: Language (Kobold)]

-----

Three. One black, two green. 1 green female, 2 male. Green male physically bulky, but signs of lesser intelligence. They seem ready to fight at any moment, but aren't actually initiating a battle. As a sign of peace, I lower the vines, which visibly relaxes them, but only the green male actually lowers his weapon in return. That isn't insulting in the slightest really, considering I myself still ready to launch stone pillars at them. Actually, I think better of them for NOT lowering their weapons immediately.

The green male turns around and asks the black male something. The black male seems to respond in the positive. He then gestures towards the green male while looking at me.

He wants to gauge my strength. Fair enough, I'll play ball. I nod.

Throwing himself at me the green one brings down his stick with immense force, in a manner which reminds me of the owlbear. However… He's slow.

Really slow. I sidestep and trip him up, before bolting his arms and legs down in stone. As much as he struggles, he wouldn't be able to break it without sufficient momentum… Which he can't gain while trapped there.

The wall there will be compacted soon. But as with everything else, it must have a reason. And if it doesn't… Ask me to fix it. Please, I'm not an omnipotent immortal like Rimuru-sama or Rou-sama, I make mistakes.
