Chapter 104

Parville Merchants’ Corps, that was the name written on the message. Seeing such an unexpected name at an unexpected place, Soo Hyuk stared at the man with a shocked expression.

The man held his dagger pointing it at Soo Hyuk.

‘What should I do?’

Soo Hyuk was about to wipe the whole group at one go, however, that was before he knew that this group of people belonged to Parville Merchant’s Corps.

He felt like he was in an awkward position. But it wouldn’t have been a problem if he didn’t have any connections with the man in front. It was all because of the quest that he accepted from Pavian.

“Leave him half dead.”

Soo Hyuk, who was still internally agonizing, snapped out of his thoughts upon hearing the man shout. Right now, he was not in the place to worry about other matters.

‘Anyways, the quest only required me to look for a place.’

He had no clue how the special quest ‘Parville’s Legacy’ would proceed. The quest shouldn’t have any connection with the merchants’ corps, since the purpose of that quest is to find the place where Parville held his regrets.

“Poison Storm!”

After calculating, Soo Hyuk summoned a Poison Storm.

The storm appeared as soon as he summoned it, not only did it engulf those who were approaching, but it also engulfed everyone else.

“Arghh!”

“Arghh! It’s burning!”

“W-Water, water!”

Poison Storm, one of its special effects was poisoning anyone who was caught in the storm. The whole Red Wolf Gang were poisoned by various different poisons, and in pain, they were screaming. Soon after, a message appeared in front of Soo Hyuk.

Ross looked around the room.

“Hmm…”

Examining the interior, he spat and frowned As he turned towards the man sitting on the opposite side and said.

“I don’t know much about your merchants’ corps, but.”

Ross said. In front of Ross was Heron, the commander of the Cospian Squad.

“It seems this place is much smaller, are you sure you’re going to stay in a place like this?”

“…Yeah.”

Heron replied with a bitter look on his face.

“I don’t want to die.”

“Do you think that I’ll kill you?”

“Ross, you don’t care much about what’s going on in the corps, don’t you?.”

“Are you not satisfied with being awarded with the vice captain position for the great Parville Merchants’ Corps?”

To Ross’s question, Heron couldn’t reply for a moment.

However, shortly after, he replied with a curt nod.

“Yes, I wasn’t.”

“Well, if that’s what you think.”

Ross said as if he understood and responded while nodding his head.

“But…”

Then, in a quiet voice, he continued.

“I’d like to hear in detail about the contents of the letter.”

“Is it really the great thief Kelta?”

Ross’s arrival at the Cospian Merchants’ Corps was not just to confirm the safety of his youngest brother.

But because of Heron’s letter, which contained information about Kelta, whom no one could find.

“Yes.”

“But why did you send me that letter?”

Ross wondered. Why did he send information about the great thief Kelta’s secret cave? Pushing aside his depressed emotions, Heron began to answer Ross’s question.

“To be honest, I needed strength. Strength that I could trust.”

Yes, power, that’s what he needed but at the same time, he needed that strength from someone trusted.

“As you can see from the scale from our size, Cospian Merchants’ Corp might be powerful but not enough to bear the consequences that would come from obtaining the treasures of Kelta.”

Although it may take some time, Cospian had the ability to find Kelta’s treasure.

But the problem was once they found the treasures. Countless people would reach out to them, and above all, this was the town of mercenaries. It didn’t matter how many managers they had, once a mess was created, it would be hard to stop it.

“When I was thinking of someone powerful but could be trusted, I immediately thought of you.”

After giving out his reasoning, Heron smiled and impressed with the answer, Ross smiled too.

“Where is it?”

Still, with a smile on his face, Ross asked.

“Here…”

Pulling out the map Heron showed the spot to Ross.

“Is this the exact location?”

Looking at the map, Ross raised his head and asked.

“No.”

“…”

“The location of the cave is well hidden.”

“So, does anyone know the location?”

“I have the key to the cave, but I don’t know where it’s located. And the one who knew ran away before I could catch him.”

“You want me to find him.”

Ross asked while picking up the map.

“Carten.”

While holding the map sideways, he called out a name. Soon a man appeared out of the thin air in front of them.

“Did you call for me?”

The man named Carten asked.

Heron looked at Carten with a very confused expression on his face. Carten was a bodyguard from the shadows of Parville that was assigned to the top executives of the Parville Merchants’ Corp.

The shadows of Parville were experts well known for their excellent physical prowess and versatile abilities such as stealth.

Heron also had one assigned to him, but was retracted when he left the corps. If he had one of the shadows with him, he wouldn’t have to go through the trouble of asking for help.

“Tell the wolves to find him.”

“Yes, sir.”

Saying that Carten disappeared.

Heron, who was looking at Carten, was surprised, but for an entirely different reason.

“Did you bring the red wolves?”

The Red Wolves, one of ten armed groups under Parville Merchants’ Corps and was led by Ross.

“Well yes. If what you wrote was true, I’d at least need to bring the wolves.”

Ross replied.

“Oh, but of course I didn’t bring them all.”

Not all members of the Red Wolves were brought here.

“Bringing them all could raise a lot of suspicion.”

It didn’t matter if Ross was the commander of Red Wolves, even a small movement with such a large number of people could raise an alert. He was well aware of the eyes following their every move.

If it were normal matter, he would have brought the whole team. But this was related to the treasures of Kelta. He couldn’t help but be aware of others.

“I’ve brought the new recruits in the name of them gaining experience. I don’t know how long it will take but soon, I’ll get to you.”

Ross brought new recruits who recently joined the Red Wolves, so he couldn’t tell how long they would take but it shouldn’t take very long.

Just as Ross finished his sentence, Carten reappeared.

“They said they found him.”

Carten reappeared to inform Ross that the Red Wolves were successful, upon hearing the report, Ross told Heron.

“Let’s go.”

“Okay!”

Heron rose from his seat along with Ross, then followed Ross to the nearby mansion.

‘So he bought this mansion for the Red Wolves…’

When Heron heard that Ross had bought a mansion, he wondered why, figuring it was better to just live in a luxury inn. Seeing as they didn’t seem to have anyone to manage it.

“Ah, you’re here?”

When they entered the mansion, a man approached and greeted them. It was Damian, the captain of the small Red Wolves troop that Ross has brought with him.

“Where is he?”

Ross asked while looking at Damian.

“Let me guide you.”

Damian answered and guided them in. Heron thought as he walked behind Damian and Ross.

‘Good.’

The current situation was good. Back when he was working under Parville Corps he wasn’t allowed to torture prisoners becuase of the leaders. But now there was no leader to block him, instead he had those to help him torture.

Back in the Corps, Romian had kept his mouth shut. But now, Heron was certain he would spill out the beans.

Heron had a confident look when he arrived at the destination, he secretly smiled and went in as Ross opened the door.

‘Huh?’

Heron, who just arrived in the room, was shocked and it was because of the man captured in the middle of the room.

“Who the hell is he?”

He was expecting to see Romian, but it was someone else.

“What’s wrong?”

Ross asked, when he heard Heron’s reponse.

“This is the wrong man.”

Heron answered with surprise lingering in his voice.

“Ah, then who is this?”

“Who knows?”

Heron did not know the man who was in front of him. It was his first time seeing him. It was Romian or the mercenaries that saved Romian.

“Damian, are you sure you found him there?”

Ross asked Damian for confirmation.

“Yes. The wolves caught him there.”

After listening to Damian’s answer, Ross said to Heron.

“Then maybe…”

Heron cutting Ross off looked at the man and said, “He must have an accomplice.”

“A partner?”

“Yes, I don’t think he is alone.”

“So, what should we do?”

“First of all, we need to find out the details this man knows.”

“Damian.”

Just as Heron gave out an idea, Ross called for Damian.

“Did you hear? I’ll be out for a while, make sure you do it right. And just in case put some guys on guard”

“Yes Sir.”

Hearing Damian’s answer, Ross and Heron got out of the room, and as soon as the door was closed, Heron could hear.

“Argh!”

A screech full of agony and pain could be heard.

〈Another Secret place of Romian〉

Romian, who was away from his house for preparation, found blood stains around his house. Looking around he realised, Haccid was missing. Quickly he left his house and headed towards his secret place. Take the map and head to the secret place!

Quest Reward: Quest – Kidnapped Haccid

〈Kidnapped Haccid〉

Haccid has been kidnapped by the Red Wolves, an armed group led by Parville Merchants’ Corp. The reason for the abduction is still unknown. Look at your map and go to the location provided. Meet Haccid and escape!

Quest Rewards: ????

‘Where should I go first?’

Soo Hyuk was deep in thought as he looked at both quests.

‘Should I save Haccid first.’

Since Haccid was kidnapped, it was unknown what could happen while being imprisoned. Fortunately, the quest was created in a way where his location was marked on the map. All he needed to do was get him out of there. It was unknown for what reason he was kidnapped, so their escaping might cause some big troubles.

‘Or Romian?’

Should he meet Romian first?

‘Well, I’d have to do both anyways.’

If he completed the quest ‘Another secret place of Romian’, then the reward would be the quest ‘Kidnapped Haccid’. So, clearly he would have to save Haccid, there was no other way. But, if he went to Haccid, he would technically be jumping between levels. However he was worried that after saving Haccid, he went to Romian then ‘Kidnapped Haccid’ wouldn’t be accepted as a completed quest, as it was the reward of the previous one.

‘Okay.’

After thinking about the quests, Soo Hyuk closed the window and concluded.

‘Let’s meet Romian first.’

He chose to go to Romian, then proceeded to take out the map and began to walk towards the location where Romian was staying.
