3rd even was the start of my studying under Tunade's guidance. It's not like she has a time to help me anytime I need it, or I have too much free time to study medicine. I just need to learn more about Ninjas and the ways how chakra can help to regenerate almost everything, of course if you have enough chakra. When I come to her, I sometimes meet the snake. You didn't abandon your friends, even for the price of the mission. You are my hero !!! If someone like you would teach us in the academy it could be fantastic, eh, dreams deams." – said boy with stars in his eyes and stood up, he bowed to him and ran away, leaving Sakumo in the frustration in the middle of the street with confused Kakashi.

After this event Sakumo stopped being active shinobi and went to the academy as an instructor. Ninjas though, that he was just scared to go out on the mission, after he failed his mission. They treated him like a coward, however it was a S rank mission, so not much people, below Jonin rank knew about this, yes there were a lot of rumors about him, but the fact is that he started to teach in the academy swordsmanship and he was doing great. But even if he could overcome the crisis, he could not keep track of his son.

Kakashi was not happy with his father's decision and started to learn on his own. Hokage saw his talent and advised little Kakashi to appoint ninja academy, to prove others, that his father wasn't a coward, rather strong ninja, which only 1 time failed his mission and to prove this he needed to always finish his mission perfectly, not like his father. So Hokage has become a good old grandfather for the little Kakashi, but that's completely other story.
