In an instant, Odrunn's mood took a turn for the better and started smiling again. Soli smiled while watching from the sideline, she was relieved that they managed to save the kids that were trapped in the building.

After Soli had frozen the wound, she stood up and walked towards the building, she started to control the water vapor in the air condensing it into a stream and tried to put the fire out. Sweat was dripping from her brows as she continuously tried to splash water onto the fire, but like a drop of water into the ocean, the water just vanished.

"Soli, the fire is too big, without a stream of water for you to control, you wouldn't be able to put out the fire, all we can do is just wait for your dad to arrive. We can't save the building."

Soli eventually agreed and stopped using her manifest.

A few minutes later, the rumbling of the transport artefacts could be heard, as Daymas arrived on the scene with a group of people. The healers sprung into action, immediately rushing to heal the wounded and injured that were all around.

After explaining the situation, Daymas was enraged, how could anyone do this to a church, what's more, kidnap the kids within.

Z contemplated for a while before pointing at the man who brought them here.

"You, come with me, let's go find some clues to find out who did this."

"But.. Why me?"

The man answered, his voice trembling.

"You were kind enough to help, so why not follow me all the way."

"Boss, I can go with you, the guy must really be tired, just let him rest."

Odrunn tried to step in to help but was kindly rejected by Z.

"The rest need you here, it will be fine for me and him to go ahead."

The man reluctantly nodded his head, he knew he couldn't get out of it and so, he just followed Z into the slums. The same slums he passed through yesterday, but weirdly enough it was dark and deserted today.

"Say, when you ran past the slums earlier to the city, did you see anyone around here? or was it just as quiet?"

Z asked the man while looking around at the surroundings.

"It was as quiet as it was just now, there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary."

Z scratched his chin as he shouted loudly.

"Rat! Come out here."

Z shouted at an empty street, waiting for a response.

From a tentage in the corner, a group of thugs emerged from within.

"Our boss is at an important meeting right now, no one should disturb him."

One of the thugs said in a rather harsh tone.

"Yeah! you can take your uppity attitude and head back to the upper areas and not come into the slums. This is our paradise kid!"

Z wasn't in the mood for banter, as he raised his hand and immediately used his telekinesis to slam the thug against the wall, making him vomit blood.

"It seems like not everyone from Rat's gang was present yesterday, don't you know that the position of power has shifted? I'm Rat's boss now. Therefore, I am your big boss. With such disrespect, I could have you killed. But because I'm benevolent, I won't kill you this time, ask Rat to get his scrawny a.s.s out here, before I get upset."

Z tapped his fingers on his arm as he waited for a response. Rat emerged from hiding immediately and came out with a smile on his face.

"Oh, young master! forgive my men, they weren't here yesterday and I haven't gotten the chance to let them know of the situation, why are you back again so quickly? Is there anything you want me to do for you?

"Cut the bullshit, where are the kids, who took them, tell me quickly before I lose my patience."

Z snapped.

"Young master, I don't know what you're talking about, I haven't gotten any information today, I've been busy in a meeting you see and I haven't got the time to speak to my...."

Before he could finish the sentence Z had already pinned Rat against the wall.

He used his telekinesis to open up Rat's left hand before using one of the pieces of 8 to skewer his hand through the wall.

"AHHHHHHHH! WHAT THE F*CK, AREN'T WE JUST TALKING?"

"As I said, cut the bullshit, you wanted your guy to send me a message to see the church in that state, so you must know who took the kids and did that to the church."

Z said looking coldly at Rat.

"WHAT MESSAGE!? I DID NO SUCH THING. YOU PSYCHO"

Z raised his other hand and grabbed hold of the man who came seeking help, to begin with and placed him beside Rat.

"Sir, why are you doing this! Why are you putting me up here with that villain?"

The man couldn't control himself as tears started to pour out of his eyes.

"Your acting is really shitty, the least you could do is to increase your heart rate and blood pressure before coming into the cafe. You just acted fl.u.s.tered and everything was normal, all you had to do was run a bit just before coming in, but you were too lazy to even do that. If I were Rat, I would have killed you myself."

Z said coldly, looking at the man in his eyes.

"I...."

Z brandished another piece of 8 and floated it in front of the man's eye.

"Boss! help me, I don't want to die. Please tell him everything, we can live to see another day, just tell him everything."

The man broke down after being threatened, a truly pathetic scene that caused Rat to be sorely enraged.

"Useless kid! I don't even know why I feed you"
