He opened his eyes to the sight of a burning town. He could see corpses everywhere. Whether they are human or monster it didn't matter as he could see hundreds of both. The only people living are the attackers, those yet to be killed, and him.

The only reason he hadn't been killed yet was because his dad had sacrificed his life for his own, allowing him to run away. After that he tried to sneak out of town and get to the castle of the monster lord, that was his only chance of survival, no matter how small.

However, it was not meant to be as he was seen not long after he had thought of this plan. The woman looked to be what you would expect an angel to look like, if she didn't have a plant like lower body. She took one glance at him, then smiled. She rushed towards him and tried to stab him with a spear of light that she had conjured from what was most likely some kind of magic.

He closed his eyes, waiting for the moment that the spear would pierce his heart and end his life. However, a minute he had still not felt anything and he opened his eyes. What he saw shocked him. One of the more humanoid looking angel woman was stopping the spear of light of the plant angel. He didn't think twice and ran as fast as he could away from the both of them.

He could hear fighting between the both of them, along with screaming from the angels and the people still alive. He felt horrible leaving them behind but knew that if no one escaped to tell their protectors of what happened here they were all going to die.

When it felt like he had run for an hour he stopped to catch his breath. He knew that the angelic looking women would be able to find him soon if he didn't keep going but he was so tired.

That was when he heard a voice. He immediately looked for someplace he could hide and the closet thing he could find was a tree. So he climbed it and hid in its leafs.

He waited with bated breath for what seemed like days to him. And when he was about to relax, a beautiful woman came into the clearing surrounded by trees they were now in. He saw her looking around the clearing and managed to get a clear look at her.

She was a very beautiful woman, if not for the blood that soaked her white dress, wings, and her blonde hair. They were all dyed red with blood. Just thinking of all the people she killed made him shudder. She also seemed to be the leader since she was the most humanoid looking of all the angels he had seen. There was also another woman with her. The other woman had no clearly defining features except her dark red hair and the fact she was wearing a labcoat that was somehow not soaked in blood.

The two seemed like they were talking so he strained his ears to try and listen in, managing to catch a few words here and there.

"... Succesful operation... survivor... sweetheart? ... where... Promestien... unsure..." these were the words he was able to catch from the both of them. The word Promestien seemed to be a name so he would sure to remember it if he survived somehow.

After the two talked a while longer he waited until they left and then he didn't move from his spot until night fell. After that he went in the direction of he castle the villagers said it was in. He just had to hope he ran into some reasonable monster or hopefully one of the knights themselves.

It wasn't for a few days that he managed to make his way there, starved and thirsty. But he could see the gates, so the monsters at the entrance could surely see him. He tried to shout for help but he couldn't and he collapsed, his vision fading to black.

He woke up to the smell of something delicious. He opened his eyes to see the sight of a plate of food and no one around. So he tried a small piece to see if it was good or not. His eyes widened and he shoved as much in his mouth as he could. It wasn't until after he finished that he heard a voice.

"Well now, weren't you hungry," the voice said. He immediately turned around and saw his savior? he guessed. She was a small petite kitsune with nine tails and fox ears, wearing a kimono. She looked amused and he knew that he had to tell her he important news for the monster lord. She narrowed her eyes a little bit, but she relented and told him to follow her. He did as told and was silent the whole way to what he assumed would be the throne room, even if someone would try to talk to him.

Eventually they reached the throne room. It was massive, he could barely see the end of the room and it looked impressive as well, even with how b.a.r.e it was. As the fox woman led him to the end of the room, he saw the crowd near the throne. There was looked to be a purple lamia, a blue slime woman, and a few vampires. The lamia looked up upon noticing our presence and her eyes widened at my appearance. She immediately waved off the vampires at her side and paid full attention to me and the fox woman at my side. She immediately demanded to know what was going on, and the fox woman just told her to listen to what I had to say. So I went on one knee just like my dad told me to do if I ever met her, and informed her of everything that happened at the village. The more I went on, the more horrified and shocked her expression became, he could even see the hatred on the expression of the fox woman who had moved to the lamias side.

After he finished his tale, no one said or did anything for a full few minutes, until the room exploded in an uproar. The lamia told her subordinates to check if what I said was true while ordering me to stay where I was. And she asked me my name as well.

"My name, Miss? It's Kane Wallace" I answered her
