Reincarnation: A New World

Chapter 14 - History Class

The next few days passed rather quickly with nothing much else to do rather than cultivate. Nora made slight progress in both, 'Dragon Kings Incarnation' and 'Demonic Witchgod Transformations'. The circulation of the four dragons had increased in speed and in turn, strengthened her body and ever so slightly increased her affinity to each of the elements. Not enough to increase in affinity level but an increase nonetheless. On the other hand, when practicing 'Demonic Witchgod Transformations', Nora's demonic core which had replaced her heart grew slightly, infusing slightly more demonic energy into her blood.

Whenever Nora would go stretch her legs, she'd find Percy and they'd walk around the Academy to familiarize themselves with the school grounds. Over some of their conversations, Nora discovered that just as she was being largely ignored by her peers, they had also been avoiding Percy. Except unlike Nora, who had been ostracized for angering Emilee. Percy had been ostracized for barely qualifying for the mage course and for being of substantially lower standing than the other students.

With the dawn of a new day, Nora's first class was soon to start. She had rather high hopes for 'General History'. She had been wanting to get a better understanding of the world she now found herself in.

Nora and Percy had made their way towards 'General History' together. They had found the classroom listed on their class list, '1441' during one of their meanderings in between Nora's cultivation. The class itself was slightly larger than the one they had been orientated at a few days prior. Since they arrived rather quickly compared to the other students they managed to sit together. Nora became rather excited as more and more people entered the classroom. She had spent quite some time wondering about the many facets of this new world. She truly felt like she'd finally have the answered she saught.

After some time passed a teacher walked into the room. The teacher in a dreary and slow tone said, "Uh... my name is Glenn Moongreen, and I am the sorry Mage who has to teach you". The rather unmotivated way he spoke kinda ticked Nora off. She had highly anticipated General History yet all she was going to be taught by such a slacker. It was simply unbelievable. Luckily for Nora, a familiar girls voice promptly shouted in its condescending manner, "Hold it right there! Mage Glenn this is unacceptable! I demand a better teacher!" Emilee's voice perfectly portrayed her 'I'm better than you all' stance on life.

In that instant, Mage Glenn snapped his fingers. The motion creating a series of immaculate golden chains appeared and silenced Emilee. The light aspected chains constraining her, preventing her from speaking. With another motion, he lifted Emilee out of her seat and with an invisible force pulled her to where he was standing.

"I may be reluctant to teach this class, but you will not disrespect me. If you like it or not, you're stuck with me. Deal with it."

Mage Glenn with a wave of his hand canceled his spells and let Emilee drop to the floor in an unsightly manner.

"I am Emilee Lightcrow, how dare you disrespect me! I'm going to complain to my father about what you did to me! You damn bastard of a magic instructor!"

"Do what you want little child. Your insignificant dad can't touch me."

The sound of Emilee running out of the classroom and down the hall echoed in the air for a brief moment. Before the slight sounds of Emilee crying begun down the hall.

"Ugh... I better go fix this... If the missis hears a made a little girl cry on my first day she'll have my head!"

Mage Glenn then walked out of the class after Emilee. Leaving the class in an awkward silence. Not long after, Mage Glenn returned with Emilee in tow. The evident signs of crying appearing across the face of Emilee.

It didn't take long before class commenced. Mage Glenn handed out massive textbooks to each of the students. The textbooks themselves having the words "The History of the Nespian Continent".

The time flew by as the unmotivated teacher gained some vibrancy and happiness whenever he started to talk about History. Since it was the first class, much of what was covered Nora had already learned. Although she did learn a few new minor things, the only thing that she really deemed significant was that although the textbook referred to the continent as the "Nespian Continent", the continent's name was currently in contention with all the major powers of the content having their own name for the continent.

The only reason for the written name on the textbook being the "Nespian Continent" instead of the local name of the continent was due to an ancient empire which once had controlled the entirety of the continent being called the Nespian Empire. Leaving this name as the name used by scholars who wanted to avoid the political turmoil from siding with one of the many empires.

Before Nora knew it, it had become time for her Magic Theory class.
