Reincarnation: Love After Death

Chapter 9 - One-Way Ticket to Hell

Letter received.

Anna Perkins, 27 years old.

Cause of death, heart attack.

Time, 5 in the morning.

I slipped on my black knee-length coat and grabbed the letter. Time to send someone in hell or heaven.

I closed my eyes to begin transporting myself to the place where this woman died.

Every death of a person that I have encountered were almost similar. You'll notice their soul wondering or looking at their lifeless body. Most of them cried. But some didn't, especially those who knew that they have an incurable disease so death were inevitable.

Now I'm looking at the soul of a young woman, probably Anna. She was crying while looking at her dead body. I can see that her tears were consist of regret. That's one of my special ability. I can see the reason of behind one's tears.

"Anna Perkins. It's time for us to talk." I said.

She was still sobbing but managed to answer, "Talk about what?"

I answered, "Things that can determine which place do you belong."

"Pla... Place?" she stuttered.

I believe that she's getting a hint of what I'm talking about but I still answered her, "Heaven or Hell."

She nodded.

"Okay. Let's start. What good things have you done on your twenty-seven years of existence. And please, do me a favor. Don't. Lie. I can see through you if you're lying or not. So let's make things easier for the both of us."

Anna thinks that it was an easy question because she helps provide for different charities.

"I donate hefty amount of money to different charities, especially charities concerning children's welfare" she answered confidently.

Anna was looking at her feet while answering. So when she didn't get any reaction from the man, she reluctantly looked up to face the man only to find him smirking.

She stuttered. "I.. Is the.. there a problem wi.. with my answer?"

"Yes. A huge problem actually. And I'm going to show you something. Treat it as if you're just watching your favorite TV show." I said.

And then suddenly the surroundings went dark. At the space between the two of them popped up a screen.

Anna was shocked to see what's in the screen. It was herself when she was nineteen years old. She gulped. She knows what exactly this man wants to show her.

It was during that age when she committed a grave sin. Being a lover of someone who has a wife. And the worst decision of having an abortion because her lover decided to leave her.

Anna cried.

Tears of regret. Tears of shame.

"You only donated to charities regarding children's welfare because you decided to get an abortion when you were nineteen." I said.

"Yes! It's because I regret what I've done before!" she exclaimed.

"Do you really regret it?" I asked.

"Of course! I'm not that heartless!" she answered.

I shook my head. Disappointed with her answer. "I told you Miss Anna, to make it easier for the both of us and don't lie. You've disappointed me. If only you've answered truthfully, I may have given you a light punishment."

"Wha... what do you mean?" she asked.

"It means, Miss Anna, you've earn yourself a one-way ticket to Hell."

Before Anna could protest, her soul was dragged by the hell hounds.
